Sweet and innocent and lost in the woods. It sounds like the start of a fairy tale. But this is no fairy tale and Ash Carson is no knight in shining armour.
He brought me to his tumbledown cabin deep in the forest and now he won't let me leave. refusing point blank to open the door until the blizzard dies down.He might be the most handsome man I've ever met and my only hope of survival but he's also infuriatingly stubborn and what's worse, he won't stop staring at me with hunger in his eyes. I know what that look means and I'm so scared, I can hardly move.
I don't know what to do. He's just given me two options, leave or stay. If I leave, I'll freeze to death. If I stay? Well, he's warned me what will happen if I stay. He won't listen to reason, he won't argue. He wants my innocence and he's going to take it.
The most shocking thing about all of this? I want to let him.
Great cover on this one. Excellent representation of the hero. Good composition and title work as well.
What can I say about this one that I haven't said a million times about this author's books? I LOVED it. This might be my favorite shortie from Lucy thus far. Well written (as always). Nicely paced. Fairly well rounded for a very short story. VERY insta. No OW/OM drama. SMOKIN' hot sex scenes. Two very likable characters. Lastly, it was all wrapped up in a sweet little epilogue. I enjoyed it so much I kind of wish it was a bit longer. Two solid thumbs up from yours truly.
I read this book as an ARC for an honest opinion. As always Lucy Wild has written a story that I loved. Isobel is a twenty year old who is tired of not being on her own. She decides to move into a house with 3 other people. On her journey to the new place she decides to stop and take a walk in a nice park. She parks her car and sets off. As she gets deeper into the park it starts to snow. She passes by a brute of a man who doesn't speak back to her as she passes by him. Ash sees her and he is very attracted which leads him away from her. He has decided long ago to live alone in the wilderness and talk to no one. Soon Isobel becomes lost and cold. Her clothes and shoes start to get soaked and she panics. She looks for Ash but cant find him. As she travels further into the forest she hurts herself and feels like she will die alone in the cold. Ash hears her scream and even though he wants nothing to do with her its in his nature to help. Their attraction is instant. Ash is trying to keep himself off of her and she is trying to tell herself not to think such dirty thoughts. These two were super hot!! What happens when a gruff mountain man and a sweet and innocent young woman cross paths? This was a sexy short story and I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced and a good story.
Oh my gosh this book was SO good! Lucy Wild gives us another amazing and sexy quickie read. I love Ash and Isobel. Their story was so interesting and I loved reading it. This is a story about finding love when you least expect it. Isobel goes on a walk in the woods when it starts to snow. She loses her way and is thankfully saved by the incredibly sexy mountain man Ash who brings her back to his secluded cabin. They have both have their own issues. Ash is drowning in guilt and Isobel is trying to grow and be on her own for once. Meeting each other was an accident but it turns out it was more like fate! This was was so sexy. I loved it. Seriously guys you need to read this quickie.
This was a super quick steamy little read. Ash and Isobel meet when he rescues her during a snow storm and I’m sure you can guess what happens next. Ash is dealing with a horrible loss he never got over and is the very much the loner brooding type. Isobel was a bit to guilable for me but, I guess she was trying to change that. Overall a good read.
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
I've been on a bit of a "trapped in the wilderness with a surly dude" kick. I blame Alexa Riley for this. In the best possible way. While this is not an AR book, it hit the spot as far as surly dudes go. I mean, Ash is sort of messed up and eaten alive by his guilt, but so it goes.
So. Isobel and Ash. She's looking to break free of her family and strike out on her own and ends up in a couple of sketchy situations. Meanwhile, he's completely committed to doing his brooding alone in the woods. Even after Isobel crashes into him, mind you. He just doesn't want to get involved in anyone or anything.
Until he does.
Sexy times happen. They part. Isobel finds out some hard truths. They reunite. More sexy times.
*A fairy tale for adults* Trapped is a fantastic 4 star novella that really wets the appetite of the reader. Ash and Isobels story is definitely an interesting read and the electrifying chemistry running through this book will make your kindle sizzle, your ovaries explode and your panties melt. Ash is the kind of man I want to find when walking on the Yorkshire Moors but all I find is sheep, flowers and moss. I need to put on my walking boots and find me a Moors man 😍😉 This is definitely an escape I enjoyed having and I loved their quick story of fate and new beginnings. This is short, sweet and deliciously good. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
first time a book by this author this was a quickie read but a hot sexy and intense one! loved the fact that they saved each other and found each other .
This is a well-written, short, engaging story that was an enjoyable read. Isobel is determined to break away from her family life and make her own way in the world, while Ash is living a life of penance for something he believes is his fault. When the two meet there is an immediate connection, but circumstances tear them apart, only to be reunited when Fate finally steps in.
Isobel is 20-years old, but her parents believe she is nothing but a child who cannot cope on her own. Fed up with all the constant arguing, Isobel is determined to prove her parents wrong; she is an adult and looking forward to moving into her new home. What she doesn’t want is to deal with the ongoing pleading messages from her parents to change her mind; they want her to come back home, to put their minds at rest. But Isobel has no idea just how much trouble she is about to walk into when she makes a stop in Cropton forest; she only sees the beauty and not the danger that is fast approaching. With no sound at all, Isobel is at peace, but then the snow starts to fall and matters take a dangerous turn. Isobel is determined to make it on her own; all she has to do is find her way out of the forest first. Isobel only wanted a walk in the woods; now she is at the bottom of a cliff, looking up at the sky through the trees, unable to breathe, thinking that her parents were right after all. Losing his wife and daughter in a car crash was a blow Ash has never recovered from and the chance at a new life is crushed by the overwhelming guilt of knowing it was his fault. Used to living on his own in the forest, Ash cuts himself off from society, so he can repent through the solitary life he leads. Ash didn’t come to the forest looking for a woman; he came here to be alone, to try and overcome his urges. He vowed to live alone, that he didn’t need anyone in his life; that he was happiest alone, but it was a never ending penance. It worked until Isobel, but something is different about her; has she come to taunt him? Finding Isobel lost and hurt in the woods, Ash takes her back to his cabin and there is an obvious attraction and connection between the two. Ash could have let Fate decide Isobel’s future, but he didn’t, and protects her just like he does the other injured animals in the woods. When the storm is over, Isobel continues on her journey; if she had asked Ash if she could stay with him, he would have said yes without a moment’s hesitation, but she doesn’t ask. It is only when Isobel finds out that she has been duped that she knows what she has to do next: she needs someone to look after her and she knows just the right person. Isobel has just packed all of her belongs and is leaving her parents house to start living her life on her own. True she’s going to share the house with three other people but it will be her first time doing things by herself. On the drive to her new place she stops in the woods to stretch her legs and get some air. She manages to get herself lost and takes a tumble to the bottom of a cliff where she is rescued by Ash a taciturn woodsman.
Ash had seen her Isobel walking through the woods earlier and thought she looked like a wood nymph. He convinced himself she was too noisy and didn’t belong out there. She is too beautiful and he’s afraid he would destroy her if he gave into his temptation to touch her. He heard her scream as she went over the cliff and now he finds himself in the position of being an unwilling rescuer.
Isobel recognizes Ash as the man who had ignored her greeting earlier. Ash knows he can’t leave her out in the elements and he takes her back to his cabin. Once there he briefly tries to resist tearing her clothes off. When he cleans them both off with very cold water to warm up they are both naked in front of the wood stove. He gives into the temptation that he has felt since he saw her. Isobel is aroused beyond any of her prior sexual experiences and is hungry for him to stake his claim on her body. After a very explosive meeting of their bodies Ash immediately gets dressed and has Isobel dress so he can take her back to her car.
Isobel is stunned at his sudden dismissal but she takes it in stride and figures this was a side interlude to the real adventure of a new place to live. When that turns to dust on her she is forced to head back to the forest in the hopes of running into Ash again.
While their meeting was very brief Isobel felt a peace with Ash she had not felt before. With Isobel, Ash felt some of his demons leave when she was around. She tells him she has no place to go he asks her to stay but warns her that he is not a good person. Isobel lets him know how totally safe and at peace with him she feels.
Very steamy short story, about two lonely people that through a quirk of fate find each other and the love they both need. Their life style may not be for everyone but for them the peace and simplicity is everything.
Somebody take my temperature, I think I might be over… stimulated! I mean who wouldn’t get a little hot … and bothered after reading “Trapped”. So, if you’re in the mood for a quickie… err um… I mean a quick, completely satisfying novella…Do yourself a favor and get “Trapped” for an afternoon… you’ll be so glad you did!

*** I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review! ***
Two people, one tortured by guilt and the other just trying to find her independence, a raging snow storm on a mountain top, and impassable roads. All of these combine to create an extreme situation and human nature takes over. While I usually prefer a longer, more in depth read, I have to say that the author certainly knows her stuff when it comes to conveying emotion. Wild sets the scene quite well and Ash's tortured soul pulls at the heartstrings, even with his less than chatty personality. Isobel is young and looking to find her way in life without her judgmental parents. She's stuck between a rock and a hard place when Ash finds her - afraid of the man of few words and afraid of being stuck on the mountain alone. Naturally, when these two give in to their baser instincts, it's hot enough to melt the snow that threw them together. Trapped is a quick read and we certainly get the lion's share of instalust, but I love that the author gives us some closure with our instant gratification with an epilogue that lets us take a peek at this pair's not too distant future. The story is entertaining and perfect for a short, bedtime read that's sure to inspire some sexy, mountain man dreams.
***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review*** A super short sexy and hot book. Isobel is trying to get away from her noisy, arguing and yelling family. Her parents have consistently told her that she shouldn't move because she can't take care of herself. As she tries to follow the moving van she misses a turn ends up in the forest. She decides to get out and take a walk. It starts to snow as she passes a stranger. She waves but he turns away and ignores her. The stranger is Ash. He's moved to the forest to be alone after years earlier he had a car wreck killing his wife and little girl! Isobel gets lost in the snow storm and slips and falls almost going off a cliff. Ash hears her screams and goes to save her. He thought he would never be with another woman, but there was something different about her. He disrobes her, then himself and he has his way with her. She enjoys it. After the storm passes he takes her to her car. If she asks to stay he'll let her. But she is waiting for him to ask her to stay. When she gets to the new apartment no one there knows her. She's been scammed. She doesn't want to go back home!
A dirty little quickie with a touch of sweet. The blurb does not accurately describe the book (in my opinion). Isobel gets lost on a walk in the woods when it starts snowing she winds up injured. Ash, who has been running from his personal demons, has isolated himself from civilization and tries to atone for things that happened in his past. Ash rescues her but never really traps Isobel, he just lets her know that if she leaves she faces death. With that being said -
Sweet at times and downright dirty at others, this book flew by quickly. There were times that I just wanted to slap some sense into Ash but he was in his protective role and doing what he thought was best. Isobel was a little naive but she did have the guts to admit when she failed and to tell the truth about what she wanted.
Again the author gives us a very nice conclusion that wraps up the story and does not leave us wondering how the couple fared.
I received a copy from the author and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
This book is short, fast paced and enjoyable. I read this book in one sitting and wasn’t once bored. At the beginning, the way Ash talked, I thought he could be a shifter, but he wasn’t. it was the way he talked about Isobel and the way he mentioned big bad wolf. I liked Ash and Isobel as a couple. I saw some chemistry but I will admit that I wanted more. I understood why Ash let Isobel walk/drive away but I wanted to shout at him to tell her to stay. When bits of Ash’s past were revealed, my heart ached for him. I was sad that he had lost his loved ones but I was happy that he met Isobel. I won’t say too much as I don’t want to give it away; I am glad that Isobel’s plans didn’t work out. I liked the epilogue/six month’s later part of this book. I like that Isobel and Ash’s love is stronger then ever. I liked that they were bringing new life to the world. I would have like an epilogue scene or two with Ash and his new child… but that is just me being greedy. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read.
A snow storm, a lost woman determined to make it on her own and a rough, gruff mountain man with a heartbreaking past.... a perfect combination for this engaging steamy romance....
The main characters both get to tell their version of events...Ash is the strong silent type so his actions speak louder than words and pretty soon their mutual attraction turns into something more....and that something more is so dirty and hot....I am hooked on this set of instalust novellas and Trapped is my favourite so far.... the men are protective and the women are smart but still end up falling for the alphas they encounter....well who wouldn’t? If I got lost on a cold winters day Ash is the kind of man I would want to take me in....
An entertaining read.....with a little bit of drama and a whole lot of instalove it provided a welcome escape from the daily humdrum of life ....I received an ARC of this novella from the author.
I received an Advance Reader Copy for Trapped written by Lucy Wild and voluntarily reviewed this book. It is part of her "Wild Quickies” collection, and they are worth the read! Ash has holed himself up in the woods, far away from people, as a punishment for his unforgivable deed. Isobel was taking a walk in the woods while driving towards her new place, not knowing that a huge snowstorm was heading her way, and she happens upon Ash just after she hurts her ankle, who brings her back to his cabin until it blows over. While there, things heat up phenomenally in that small space, and they share a hot and sexy time, but Isobel has to leave, regrettably, as soon as she is able in order to meet the movers at their destination. Is that all they will get to have, after that brief time they’ve shared together? Sexy-hot you-know-you-are-just-right-for-each-other kinda love.
Another Insta Love Quickie A young woman determined to be on her own. A snowstorm. A mountain man with a tragic loss.
Isobel wants out from under her parents. She responds to an add for a roommate She will be living with 3 strangers. Her parents don't think she's ready to leave the nest.
Ash lost the loves of his life, in a car accident. He blames himself. He thinks doesn't deserve to be happy. He's isolated himself from others.
The two meet, after Isobel finds herself lost in the woods. Ash tries ignore her, and go on his not so merry way.
When Isobel nearly injures herself, Ash takes her to his place and out of the storm. One thing leads to another and wham! Naked wrestling time. A connection is formed that neither Isobel or Ash expected.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and was not compensated in any way.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This book was really great to read, it held my interest right from the start to the finish. Isobel is a young women, leaving home to prove to her parents that she dosnt need their help, that she can make it in the big world by herself. She stops on the side of the road to go for a walk in the woods and soon gets lost. Ash, all he wants is peace and quiet, but one look at the young women walking though the forest and he knows he is in trouble he wants her. He follows her to make sure she is ok, but soon she gets herself lost and Ash steps in and takes her to his cabin.
I have given this book 5 stars, even though this is the second book i have read on ms wilds im fast becoming a fan, her books are quick and easy to read and very hot yum...
So this was by far the most straight to the sexy time book that I have ever read, they tried to get a little bit of plot in there but for the most part is was mostly me savage you woman, sex time...lol.
So you have Isobel who is a 20 year old woman who decides that she is old enough to move out on her own and her first choice is to take a walk into the woods as it begins to snow, and then NOT know how to find her way out...Dude seriously?
Ash is a mountain man to the extreme, like he hasn't talked to anyone in weeks and he forgets to add some prepositions and conjunctions to his sentences...lol He runs across her trying to find her way in the forest and is tempted to leave her there but once she hurts herself he literally throws her over his shoulder and carries her to his cabin. Honestly, I was just so tickled by how primitive it all was
CALL OF THE WOLF🐺🍌🌋 ARC received for an honest review
Isobel💋💃 is a naive young Brit, leaving home, moving away, stubbornly thinking she is all grown up. She rents a room in a house in another town, away from her parents. On the drive there, she stops in a beautiful woods to go for a short walk. It begins to snow and soon she is lost, her tracks covered up by the heavily falling snow. She is wet and chilled to the bone. Then she falls, her scream is heard by someone, the Wolf🐺🍌🌋. The Wolf🐺🍌🌋 takes her to his lair, a small cabin hidden far from the road. The big bad Wolf🐺🍌🌋 wants to eat her up! YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
This is a short, sexy, sweet story of two lonely people just wanting peace, quiet, and each other.
I enjoyed the latest from Lucy Wild. When Isobel sets off to start her life away from her family she thinks she can handle anything, until she gets lost when taking a walk in the woods. Enter Ash, the gruff mountain man out tracking an injured deer and finding the beauty that is Isobel instead. When she needs someone to save her he will be there and they will explode together. Then he sends her on her way, even if she is the first woman he has wanted around, thinking he needs to keep paying for the past. When her life implodes even more she will find herself turning to Ash and finding what she was looking for instead of what she had set out for in the first place. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Lucy Wild does it again and gives the reader a quick insta-love story that will have you wondering how these two will come together and stay together. Ash is a mountain man who communes with nature. He does not believe he deserves to be around people but he does take care of the animals around his cabin. Isobel is striking out on her own. She is trying to prove that she can be an adult and take care of herself regardless of what her parents think. These two come together in a snow storm and the attraction is immediate and the sex is off the charts. I loved this couple who were both needing something and were surprised to find it in each other. I was given this book for an honest and voluntary review.
Hot damn, makes me want to run out and buy something plaid right now!
I loved reading about Isobel and Ash. Isobel is a 20 year old woman, setting out in the world on her own. She's on her way moving to a house share with 3 other people. Her parents are sure she's going to fail and run right back to them, but she has something to prove.
Then there's Ash, like as in smokin' hot! Ash is a man who lives out in this little cabin in the woods, all alone enjoying the solitude.
Until the day that his and Isobel's paths cross in the forest. She's out for a walk and he's out checking on the animals after hearing shots a couple days ago. Isobel gets lost and Ash saves her like a knight on a steed, coming to her rescue.
Isobel is leaving home and in the process of moving into her new place. But along the way, she stops in the forest for a walk, but quickly gets lost only to find Ash. Will he keep her safe? Will he help her get out of the forest?
Ash has been through hell in his life and is now living alone in the woods, but when he crosses paths with Isobel, will he be able to leave her alone? Will he truly let himself have this bit of happiness?
Great short, steamy read, which includes fate, love, lust and romance. You never know when you will find what you weren't looking for. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a great read filled with hope that love can be found even when no one is looking. Isobel thought she was just walking through the woods to clear her mind, never thinking that the mysterious man she sees along the path will rescue her and end up being the man of her dreams. But will the wild passionate sex and the connection bothe Isobel and Ash feel for each other be enough to bring him back to society? Or will the two find that their love is enough to leave civilization behind and just be together. With great characters and a storyline that keeps the pages turning I highly recommend this book.
A little bit Little Red Riding Hood, a little bit Beauty and the Beast. This modern day fairy tale sees Isobel lost and injured in the woods. Ash, haunted by his guilt and anger, has been hiding out in those woods believing he doesn't deserve anything good anymore. Isobel is immediately intrigued by Ash and the chemistry between them burns up the page. I found it heartbreaking to watch Ash punish himself for a situation beyond his control but his care and concern for Isobel is so sweet. This lightning-fast little book was pure pleasure to read. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This is a short sweet romance which neither could understand their attraction.
Ash was a widower! Having caused the death of his wife and daughter. It was a blow he didn't think he would recover from. He had cut himself off from society in order to repent through the solitary life of a hermit.
Then along comes an Angel, lost in the snowstorm. Try as he might to ignore her they kept crossing paths as he headed back to his cabin and it became obvious he had to help her or leave her out here in the storm to die.
This book is such a sweet story of sparks between 2 people that turned into an inferno and ended with an HEA.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. As always short and hot, at twenty three Isobel decides it was far time for her to be on her own. On her way to her new place Isobel decided to talk a walk only, to get lost in the snow.. Ash Sees Isobel, instant attraction.. He however decided long ago to live alone in the wilderness . All that changes the moment Ash hears her scream. Even though Ash vow to be alone, he would not fight the pull. what will happened when an innocent girl meet the man of the wilderness... Sorry, you have to read to fine out .
Sometimes I am amazed that Ms. Wild can write characters that we can become so invested in in such a short amount of time. These instalove short stories contain raw excitement and emotional turmoil that evolve quickly into sexual hunger and gratification but I am so glad she can!! Ash and Isobel push each other to the limit of their personalities but when they delve into intimacy...hold on to your hat folks because hot is all encompassing!! Totally a few hours of arousing fun and a few sighs when you open this book!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book
