A scathing story of mandatory minutiae, softening students, pretentious parents, too much testing, common core conundrums, and the slow death of a noble profession.
Can't say enough good things about Step. He says what (just about) every educator has thought at some point in their day/week/career. This book makes me feel like I'm not alone in how I view many of the shenanigans that happen in the realm of education. Highly recommended for anyone that has anything to do with education: parents, teachers, administrators, POLICY MAKERS, etc.
Step does it again. If you're a teacher, pretty much everything in this book will resonate with you. Warning: There is a lot of foul language, so if that offends you, read Teaching Sucks, But We Love It Anyway instead. There isn't any in there and it's by the same author.
