I didn't find this as creepy as the first one but it was still brilliant and it was good to get a bit of backstory. The characters have definitely grew on me now, I didn't find them likeable in the first one but they were much better in this one.
Another great book in the series The Sensitives. I loved how the author shows the reader that even strong people can be swayed by their own guilt. Both Derek and Julian were so filled with guilt that they fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book: Divide and conquer. I’m glad that Oscar and April were able to defeat the newest Demon in our world. Losing Derek is not something I am ready for. I am enchanted to know this book has been my favorite.....cannot wait for the next in the series! Love this author!
While this work of fiction is well-written and keeps the readers interest, I wish the author could have published a disclaimer at the beginning. The Roman Ritual can only be performed by a priest, in good standing, and only after being duly appointed by his Bishop. The exorcist is then acting with the full authority of the Body of Christ. It isn't the exorcist who rids the possessed of the unclean spirit; that is done only and by the Triune God according to His will. Sensitives with special abilities are utilized by those officiating (they are called chrismatics) only in a supporting role, usually praying during the rite. The antichrist of the New Testament to whom is referred to in this work of fiction will be defeated by the Lord Jesus Christ upon His return (to believers, of which I am one), and it has yet to happen. The Roman Catholic Church is guilty of much (as are the Protestant denominations), however, as our wonderful world is still spinning the end is yet to come. I encourage you to read Rick Wood for the entertaining and colorful author that he is. To deny Christology in the subject of demonic possession would render the topic moot; pride goeth before a fall.
My Exorcism Killed Me is the perfect second book written by Rick Wood in The Sensitives series. I think I actually liked this one even better than the first, probably because Oscar is the star in this one if you ask me. The plot is very imaginative with lots of twists and turns that were very well done. We also find out more about Julian's dark past and his mentor Derek, another character I really like. Julian is really put through the ringer in this one, but thankfully Oscar's gift really comes through in this one. Thankfully April believes in him 100% and between these two things will work out or will they?
This book is one of those that is difficult to put down and I for one read it in one sitting. I am curious to see if the author will be able to beat this one, only time will tell and I am curious to see what the next ones will bring. Thankfully I have some time to read them right now and I can't wait to get started, so I will get right to it.
I thought the first book in this series was great and this is exactly the same. Full of twists and non stop adventure and battles. It's a compelling read that has you captivated from the start. I love how Derek s character is of a humble elderly gentleman and how Oscar has grown and his relationship with April is beginning. I hope Julia does come around to seeing how good Oscar is and they become good friends. I can't wait to read the next In the series to see what happens to April and what adventures they have with help and there demons etc . Definitely recommend you read this series, even this book as a stand alone. Excellent.
Omg where to begin!!!!!!!! I swear and I will probably write this in every review of this man's books, he is the Dan Brown of horror. I have read a lot of horror books and no one that I have found so far can make a plot go at this kind of break neck speed. I love how the chapters average about 2 1/2 pages. And he keeps you hooked from the first chapter. The characters in this series are very believable and likable. And with this book I loved the twist near the end. Just fantastic!! Love this series and can't wait to open and start the next one!!!!!!!!!
Derek and Julian have both been taken over by demons so it comes to Oscar and April to independently rid their mentors of the extremely strong demons. Oscar needs to return to the Prison where Derek was being held, and April was to rid Julian of his demon back at his flat. It was going to be a fight for both of them and all Oscar could think about was would he be able to remember the words to the chants that he must say and that he hadn't told April how he felt about her and if the demon kills him as well as Derek, she would never know.
I was literally counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until this book released. I am so connected to all the characters and was happy to see Derek. I never saw the big picture until it was revealed at the end and how the new Sensitives surprised themselves and me. I can't wait until the next book is ready!!!! Thank you Mr. Wood for another AMAZING installment!!!!!!
Rick Wood's 2nd installment in the "Sensitives" series is a page turner if ever there was one. Between the burgeoning romance between Oscar and April, to the guilt ridden Julian and Derek, Rick doesn't disappoint. With a plot twist that you never see coming, ( and I must say a pretty heady twist at that) It will keep you reading till the end.
This series of books (The Sensitives) is every bit of good or dare I say better than the Edward King series, which was brilliant. In book two we are even re-introduced to Derek who featured in the previous series.it is spooky, it is scary it is very believable with great characters. Well worth starting the series of books.
I am mesmerised by this series of books! They draw you straight in. Some of the language is at times repetitive and Oscar can come across as a bit annoying but the story telling and scene setting is marvelous.
Another page turner, not like the usual type of exorcism/demonic book, or feel real and on edge. Read part one yesterday and this part two today. Highly recommended
found book 2 better Derek is the beholder of the story and the sensitives story can be gruesome but good storyline if your into this sort of book def worth a read
Very good book. Continuing following April, Oscar and Julian fighting the demons this book gives you another case they need to solve. Good follow up to the first book. Now onto the 3rd.
Another great one by Rick Wood. The sensitives series is excellent. The second book better than the first. Definitely recommend you to read this series. I am looking forward to book three.
