I just finished reading “Come Again Sex Toy Erotica” published by Cleis Press and edited by Rachel Kramer Bussell. Before reading this there were several givens; I liked toys a lot. I liked short tales which is attested to by my subscription to Penthouse Variations Magazine. Rachel Kramer Bussell had edited that very same magazine so I hoped these stories reflected our apparent mutual interests. These stories did but were far hotter than expected. They also provide that toys don’t all just need batteries and with a twist of thought and have a science fiction bent as well.

The book illustrates how sex toys are not for just for solo adventurists self-pleasing, late at night in bed. Toys can be used by twos or more and used both inside and outside the bedroom as well. In Chris Komodo’s A Tale of Two Toys, we see two couples who happen to have toy remotes on the same frequency and enjoy an evening of fun without knowing one another. In Giselle Renarde’s lurid tale we see a twosome become a trio when the toy is so absolutely lifelike.

My favorite story was the very touching Gift by Dena Hankins which proves that toys work at any age and for any combination of coupling. Their love is honest as well as very very hot and the toy just adds a special light touch. Wonderfully written and selected for inclusion.
Now i think i need some new toys!

There are so many great stories in this anthology. Some are fun and light, some are deeply sensual. Gift by Dena Hankins has to be my absolute favorite story in this anthology. It really touched that part of me that yearns for someone to share intimate moments with. The story is so sweet and arousing at the same time with such deep connection between the characters and active details on how they pleasure each other. Definitely got caught up in this story and felt a longing for a caring partner.
I was already a fan of Zee Giovanni. Reading their story Lost and Pounded was a sexy, fun treat. Giovanni’s characters are always so full of energy and mischief. It’s great. How can you not get turned on!
Claws Out by Rachel Kramer Bussel made me feel tingly all over. I love when a story makes me feel a bit of what the characters are feeling. I want some claws of my own now.
Overall an excellent collection of fun, loving, and inventive stories involving sex toys and creative partners.

"Come Again" is an anthology of 24 erotic stories of with the use sex-toy in mostly heterosexual pairings in a range of scenes from vanilla to light-kink.

Although many other stories are written about the use of vibrators on women, this anthology has stories with others (even ones not usually thought of as as a sex-toys).

Although one can research the general intended use for a sex toy, there is little information on how they are used. Some readers might consider ANY scene that has the use of a sex-toy as kink but some of the "toys" in these tales are common everyday items put to creative uses. Sex toys are no longer for the "down low" but are widely available in "proper" sex shops and...hardware stores. The anthology illustrates the range of possibilities of how sex-toys are used in erotic encounters.

Another consideration is that some guys still think the use of a sex toy is a sort of failure of the male apparatus. These stories illustrate how toys are a supplement and not a substitute for erotic encounters. One story (E. Bellamy's "Superman Dildo") deals with this issue directly. Sybil Rush's "Standard of Care" illustrates how a "medical" device leads into deeper sexual satisfaction.

Ms. Bussel has an apparent knack for selecting really hot erotica...or has connections to some of the best erotica writers (she also writes a very engaging tale in this anthology). The tone of the stories are sex-positive and not the usual male-centric porn from the past.

For potential readers who think sex-toys are too "racy" check out Susan St. Aubin's "Vegetable Love", Corrine A. Silver's "Dalia’s Toy", Dena Hankins' "Gift" or Elizabeth Coldwell's "Prickles".

I was really moved by Rachel Kramer Bussel's "Claws Out" on how a sex-toy can deepen the bond between two people. Corrine A. Silver's "Dalia’s Toy" is a tale about a character you think "would never" dive into kink with her willing partner, but does. I could also relate to Oliver Hollandaize's "Bikery" as I know girls who fix their bikes and ride through the same neighborhood as the story is set in.

The writing quality is excellent (only a few minor typos). I rate the anthology as:

fiction: 5/5
erotica: 5/5 (hot!)
writing: 5/5

I received an ARC for an honest review.

As far as I’m concerned, Rachel Kramer Bussel has done it again with Come Again, an outstanding collection of kinky sex toy tales! Not all situations described in the stories worked for me, but the overall quality of included writing is excellent. To my taste, standouts include:

The Gift, by Dina Hankins is a remarkably tender, sexy story of senior lovers, Helen and Margaret. As a senior woman this one resonates with me, for sure. It’s gratifying to see stories of senior sex included in erotica anthologies. After all just because the packaging has changed doesn’t mean the fires within aren’t still burning.

Vegetable Love, by Susan St. Aubin is deliciously sensual from start to finish. I’ve read this writer’s work before in other publications. She really knows how to write a sensuous story.

My life as a Vibrator, by Livia Ellis, a whimsical tale told from a vibrator's POV is naughty, tender, and deliciously explicit.

Pencil Dick, Kathleen Delaney Adam's piece about two unnamed lesbians and a strap on in a sleazy motel is down and dirty and just plain hot. I like to think my taste is a bit more uptown but this story turned me on.

In the Pink, by Rob Rosen is a sexy, funny, fast moving story of two guys and a rather large pink dildo.

Claws Out, by Rachel Kramer Bussel will definitely thrill those of us who enjoy sweet torment and intense sensation. I am always amazed at the consistently high quality of Rachel's writing. I mean she has stories in every one of her zillion anthologies and they’re all good.

The single less-than-great note in a superlative collection is the tale of a tail made of real animal fur, when for me faux-fur would have satisfied.

If you love sex toys and adventure in the bedroom, you definitely need to grab a copy of Come Again: Sex Toy Erotica, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. This collection of 24 short stories covers a wide range of toys - both real and imaginary - as well as some unique scenarios that show just how fun and versatile relationships that incorporate toys can be.

Whether you’re a vanilla lover or a self-confessed kinkster, there’s something for everyone here. You’ll find homemade toys from the freezer in “Icy Bed,” an erotic inventor’s latest creation in “The Prototype,” and vibrators galore throughout the book. While some stories emphasize the size of a couple’s toy box, others narrow the focus to just one special toy’s ability to please. It’s like a box of sexual chocolates - you never quite know what you’re going to get.

One of my favorites from this collection is actually the introductory story, “Dare You To,” by Jillian Boyd. In it, a couple engaged to be married takes up a game of sexual dares, increasing their lust for one another before the trip down the altar. I loved the chemistry between Kat and David, as well as the cheekiness of their dares - all of which are carried out in public, to add the thrill of potentially getting caught into the mix. Whether or not you’ve personally engaged in a naughty version of Truth or Dare, this story is sure to capture your imagination, as well as your libido.

Set aside a lazy afternoon to indulge in a few stories alone or with a lover - you may find yourself bookmarking pages with ideas to incorporate into your own boudoir activities!

I've never read a book about sex toys before but I was intregued and when I saw Rachel Kramer Bussel was the editor I knew I had to give it a go.

Ummm, yeah! There were dares, mad sex toy scientist, dildos and butt plugs, vibes and veg. Gay straight or lesbian, BDSM and vanilla, there is no end of erotic fun.

All of the stories were really good and yeah, even though it is my least favourite thing, (I am a lesbian and I think guy on guy is icky, no offense to anyone intended, just how I feel) I read the M/M. It was not terrible (this is high praise just so you know) As good as all the stories were, there were a few stories that I felt really stood out.

Lost and Pounded by Zee Giovanni was a great tale revolving around a lost dog, the woman who found it and the owner. It was really hot with a surprise twist.

Susan St. Aubin does some wickedly delightful things in Vegetable Love. The whole of it was beautifully written and very poetic. It made this dies in the wool carnivore wanting to eat her salad...

I truly loved Sea Kitten by Errica Liekos. This is a wonderful and different (to me anyway) take on the Master/slave relationship and her new tail.

Dena Hankins Gift really was. This is a romantic lesbian drama touched me most. I love older women and this was definitely beautifully written and simply delectable.

Truly this is a well done book. Thank you Ms. Kramer Bussel for making it happen.

I’ve taken another journey into the erotic world of the anthology. I chose Come Again because I have a certain fascination for sex toys. I find them pleasurable and often when experimenting, I find that whole new worlds open up for me. One of the things I enjoyed about reading this book was that I’m not alone in my fascination – and I now have many new ideas for play.

Dare You To is a fun story where a couple takes turns daring each other to wear specific sex toys in public places. My favorite was when David had to wear nipple clamps with little bells on them as they met with their wedding florist.

Cure for the Common Lay is an interesting delve into the world of a futuristic virtual reality. The idea of going into a simulated world and refashioning your appearance, not necessarily for vanity but for anonymity, is very appealing.

Overall, the stories were a bit long for me. I prefer the erotic anthologies where each story is three to five pages long and the focus is on the sex, not the story. I liken this to porn. Some porn has a story line (usually poorly executed), some is just sex. If I’m going to watch porn, I just want sex without having to follow a storyline. The writing in each of these stories, however, is outstanding so if you prefer to have a nice lead up to your sex, this is an excellent choice for you.

I have been reading Rachel Kramer Bussel's erotica anthologies for a few years now. I gravitate toward them because they are intelligent, plausible, and unique. I am pretty picky when it comes to erotica.

I wasn't sure an anthology devoted to sex toys could keep me interested (I thought the stories might get repetitive), but I was pleasantly surprised. Each story offered something different, and I found myself eager to explore scenarios I would never have sought out on my own.

My favorite stories were The Cure for the Common Lay by Valerie Alexander, Claws Out by Rachel Kramer Bussel, Prickles by Elizabeth Coldwell, Standard of Care by Sybil Rush, and Must Love Dolls by Giselle Renarde.

I can safely say that after reading this, I will never look at bicycles or bees in quite the same light.

“Come Again,” Editor/Contributor Rachel Kramer Bussel's new anthology invites you into the world of sex toys. Some that exist already, some that may exist in the future, but all that the characters in this collection find a variety of uses for.

There are standard toys used in the usual ways, and non-standard toys used in creative ways that are both amusing and occasionally unexpected. There is love and fun and humor to be found in these stories, and I had a good time reading them.

My favorites were from Jillian Boyd, Katya Harris, E. Bellamy and Chris Komodo. Not all of the situations worked for me, but that's the good part about collections like this, there is always another idea just around the corner.

This book is a collection of diverse erotica short stories that centralize around the theme of sex toys. Some couples in the book have used toys before and their story may focus around a new toy that has been introduced into the relationship. Some are wildly creative and invent their own sex toys. Others find pleasure in existing objects one would probably never expect to use as a sex you. Can you imagine using a real live beehive to pleasure yourself? Yep, that's in here too. Even the stories that I wasn't really into, still held my attention and were interesting to read. This is a fun and entertaining read. Also a great one if you are looking to spice up your relationship and want to get some new ideas.

Disclaimer: I received a print copy in exchange for an honest review.

I appreciated the variety of situations, themes, and couples presented here (even if I did wish for more m/m stories), as well as the playful atmosphere. Even when the premise or gadget of a certain story didn't appeal to me personally, my attention was always held. Some of my favorites hinged on the device's novelty, especially Valerie Alexander's "The Cure For The Common Lay." Others focused more on the dynamic between the couple, such as Chris Komodo's "A Tale of Two Toys."

A series of short stories a step above the usual menagerie, including a story from a vibrator's point-of-view and another involving a neurological appliance that intensifies orgasms.

One or two stories were fun. There are different plays, so a few appeal, and others are filler.

Too choppy...I like a story to last longer than a chapter

No story longer than a chapter. No characters to love or hate.
No reason to read more than one vignette after another until boredom sets in.

"Come Again: Sex Toy Erotica" is a collection of erotic short stories featuring (as you can probably imagine) sex toys. This collection is astonishingly diverse and includes stories featuring strap ons, vibrators, and vegetables, along with fantasy inventions the likes of which cannot be found in stores.
