A Lesbian Romance That Will Make You All Warm and Fuzzy Inside
(Book 1 of Lesbian Short Story Series - No Cliffhanger)

Erin Hunter is sick of her life being the same thing day in and day out. Her stress levels are rising and nothing seems to work. Jessie, her friend since high school, suggests Yoga, a notion that Erin dismisses as being hipster/hippie nonsense, but she’s desperate for a solution. She goes to a free trial lesson, with mat provided, and finds that there’s quite a few things to like about yoga, number one being her completely drop-dead gorgeous instructor, Greece-born Dione Makos, which leads to entirely different problems.

Erin has never had feelings for a woman before. She wanted a change, and now she’s got one.

This is a debut novella about Erin, an allegedly straight office worker, and her yoga instructor Dione. Erin starts practising yoga because she feels the need for a life change but gets a different outcome than the one she expected, a change that questions her sexuality.

As a yoga enthusiast myself, the book's main idea appealed to me but, in my opinion, it fails a bit short on the execution. Written in third person from Erin's point of view, the reader gets into her headspace and can only guess what Dione is thinking or feeling because very little is shown by the author. The reader learns about Erin's growing infatuation and questioning of her sexuality but gets little or no clues into Dione's mindset and sexuality. The mystery surrounding a character is not necessarily a bad thing but, in this context, the latter developments in the story seem a bit forced, if not unrealistic. Personally, I would have liked the author to show the main characters' chemistry, 'the energy between them', and build it up more in the early stages, especially considering that the yoga class was their only interaction. There are a few witty dialogues that show the potential of the author and, I think that her stories - and character construction - will benefit with more of that.

Overall, an ok read. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

Between 3 and 4 for me. So I guess I'll lean to 4 due to it being a debut short.

This is nice enough for a short story but I feel much needs to be developed. For example, beginning yoga is a bit revalatory and it is described as just a work out. Why is Dione attracted to Erin? Why is Erin attracted to Dione so strongly beyond just her looks?

I enjoyed the story but feel it could've been developed more into something nice.

I adored this short story. I thought it moved rather quickly and would have loved to see a more in-depth look at Erin's self-discovery. However, it is still a sweet read and i cannot wait to see what Ms. Scott comes up with next.

I'm a mixed bag on this one. On one hand its a cute short story that moves rather quickly and skips a ton of possible drama. One the other hand its a quick short story that skips all the drama...come on everyone has a love hate relationship with drama especially in books.
The pacing was fast. The coming out seemed a bit understated. And they jumped in the sack rather quickly for someone struggling. But I did like it. I just wish there was more insight but I guess as a reader I will always want that.
Free on kindleUnlimited and the first book i have read from this author. I look forward to reading more in the future...

Nice energy

I really enjoyed this book - the energy between the two main characters was perfect. It would have been made better if the one had done better at seeking consent, but it's also not like she forced herself on her.

3 stars. I love a good toaster oven romance but I didn't like the writing style in this. It felt so flat and made it hard to connect with the characters. Wasn't bad or anything but left a lot to be desired for sure.
