BREE GALLAGHER

Wycked Obsession—my brother’s alternative rock band. More than that, it’s the story of my five-year crush on the band’s lead singer, Ajia Stone. When things at home turn bad, I get the chance to spend three months on tour with the band. Finally, it’s my chance to make Ajia to see me as more than the band’s mascot. Their baby girl. Or will the ugliness at home, the parties, the groupies, and my over-protective brother ruin my transformation and turn it all into a nightmare?

AJIA STONE

Wycked Obsession—the rock band that my buddy Knox Gallagher and I formed five years ago. His baby sister Bree has always been our biggest fan. Now things have changed. Bree’s on tour with us, and suddenly she’s not our baby girl anymore. She’s a woman, and she’s pushing every button I have. Can I go from a never-ending list of nameless, faceless girls to just one? I’ve done stuff I’m not proud of, don’t deserve a happily-ever-after, so why does Bree make me want to believe otherwise?

**This is an adult rock star romance intended for mature audiences. Not appropriate for readers under 18.**
No cliffhangers. Guaranteed HEA.
Book 1 in the Wycked Obsession series, the beloved fantasy of romance between hot rock stars and the ordinary women who love them.

I love Rock Star romances. I love the hot scenes and the passionate artists. I even love those wounded souls that are a hot mess and need the right woman to make them realize that they can love and be loved. What I don’t love is the typical angst and drama that goes with many of these stories. Wycked Crush has all the things I love without the typical other woman drama/misunderstanding that usually accompanies these hot stories. Ajia and Bree have a definite uphill battle that will continue past this book but together, they will get through it!

When I got the chance to read Wicked Crush as it unfolded from Wynne Roman's smart and sexy rock-n-roll mind I was excited. I knew it would be good and trust me, it did not disappoint. I love rocker romance. I love the men, the hair, the ink and the sex, oh, I mean the music. The main characters, Bree and Ajia, have a story that dates back to their teen years, a friendship that grows into a roller coaster of a love song. Bree is the band's baby girl, mascot and jokingly their "wife". She grew up listening to them in the garage and watched them make the climb to rock headliners. She has adored Aija from the wings all these years. They take her on tour and she is suddenly in close quarters with her crush for days and nights on end. Bree is sweet and smart and bold. She throws caution to the wind and goes after her man. Her brother, Knox, is the leader of Wicked Obsession and thinks he can make decisions for her like he does for the band. Let's just say he has met his match in the young woman he still sees as his baby sister. He'll soon see she is all grown up. This book is an introduction to all the men of Wicked Obsession, it's a tease. I think this series is gonna be spectacular and I am so looking forward to the next wicked chapter.

So can I give this book 10 stars? Excellent writing, awesome story. It shows that some things are waiting for. Shed a few tears, smiled a lot. This book should be in your pile of must reads. But put it on top.

Ehhhhh it was a so so read! It felt a bit on the immature side for both characters! I get they were young but it just didn’t grab and/or capture my attention:(

I still plan to give the next book in the series a try at some point!

This is one of those times that I really wish Goodreads gave us the ability to give half stars for books! This story isn't quite bad enough for 3 stars, but neither is is really good enough for the four stars I rated it either! I liked the fact that it was an unrequited love story that finally got it's time, but it really dragged for me as well! Aija was an idiot most of the time, as was Bree's brother, Knox. I did really like how Bree stood up for herself to her brother, and finally got the guts to deal with the situation at home that sent her running on tour with the band in the first place. However, as a new adult book, I would have to question if that subject matter is a bit appropriate for readers that young, who might be coming out of a situation very similar to Bree's and react badly to reading about it in others. Maybe this is just "first book" syndrome, so I'm reserving judgement on anything further until I can read another book by the author.

AJIA!

I was floating through some emails from various authors & this one popped up somewhere as a recommendation, catching my attention. Because one of my most favorite genres of romance novels is a really great rockstar book & the cover was so beautiful, I decided to click on this one. Another new author for me to try out, maybe add to my favs list! Sure have to say, loved this book. In Ms. Roman's notes at the end, she mentions her inspiration in wanting to write this type of book after reading Crystal Kaswell's Sinful Serenade & Dangerous Noise series which I absolutely loved myself.

Wycked Crush sets up the history of the garage band, Wycked Obsession in their early stages of their burgeoning success. The 5 band members & their 'mascot' & little sister of one of the guys, Bree hit the road on their bus for the tour. This girl is sassy, outspoken & ready & able to stand up to them all with her straight forward attitude. After confessing a secret fear, she gets invited on a summer tour with the band to keep her safe. This also places her in a perfect position to spend all her time with her teen 'crush' of 5 years, the delectable lead singer, Ajia Stone, & is old enough to know what she wants & goes after it! I really loved the interaction between Ajia & Bree, really all the guys felt that she was theirs to love & protect wherever they ended up. I'm not going to give up all the details, you'll have to read it for yourself to find that out. It was a quick & very satisfying beginning to this new rocker series which will feature many upcoming books. The next one about Bree's bossy older brother is waiting for me now, gotta read it but the other will be spread out over 2018 & beginning of 2019. Something to look forward to FOR SURE. Don't miss this one.

3.5 Electrified Guitars for Wycked Crush

I will start by saying that I am really torn on how to rate this book. It's a well written, quick read, and it kept my attention enough to read it in less than a day. It is definitely NA - and very explicit for those that prefer to avoid that. That in itself doesn't bother me, and the problems I do have with it probably aren't completely fair to this author as they really aren't specifically about her, or the book. It is more along the lines of what I was discussing with a fellow rockstar romance reader friend, about the things that have gotten old to us in too many of these books. I realize that there are some limits to the genre, and there were a couple of plot points in this one that are a bit out of the ordinary - and what kept me reading. And honestly after reading the preview for the second book in the series, I most likely will read it, possibly even as my next read. I really don't want to sound like a cranky old lady, but I felt like the plot points that interested me were often too overshadowed by sex and scenes that seemed just a bit too unrealistic to me. I know that may sound a bit contradictory from a reader of fictional rockstar romances, and I truly don't mind a fair amount of over the top. Overall, like I said there is enough to keep me reading and it does have plenty of rockstar mayhem.

Wicked Crush is a wicked good Summer read! The love scenes are sizzling, the characters are engaging (including the secondary characters), and the story takes the reader on a tour bus with the boys (and girl mascot) in the band.

Our heroine is the younger sister of Knox, a founding member of the band. Knox is all kinds of lovable, but obnoxious older, protective brother. Knox has one set of standards for himself and another for his baby sister. Sparks fly, but Bree is her own kind of strong, take no crap, woman who manages to show her brother, her lover, and the reader how it is done.

I love that Bree is in college and her major fits in with travelling with the band. She isn't there just because she can be. She has a purpose other than a pretty face. There is one slightly dark reason Bree accompanies them, but I don't want to spoil it.

Ajia, Bree's love interest, is all over the place with his magnetism. Hot. Broken inside. Can Bree help him put it behind him and heal, or are the scars too deep?

I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoy steamy love scenes, rock band stories, and vulnerable, but strong heroines. Wynne Roman's writing is pure escapism and I loved it!

I REALLY REALLY enjoyed this book! Ajia and Bree are really quite special on their own but together they’re magic. There is no unnecessary angst or ridiculousness from the young heroine, as some authors create. Bree & Ajia’s chemistry is palpable and I love seeing it unfold in the dual POV.

All the characters in this book are intriguing- they’re rockstars but have very real-life struggles and issues. I cannot wait for the rest of the guy’s stories!

This Wycked book rocked my world!

Caught my attention

Really good all inclusive rockstar book introducing the members of Wycked Obsession. Ms Roman has a fast paced writing style and the dialog is very engaging between the characters. She has taken the sister and best friend hook up to new and pretty believable level. I did have an issue with the constant over use of one swear word but that will not prevent me from reading about the next band member

I really enjoyed this story, and give it 3.5 stars.

The band is a bunch of manwhores, but at least they're always there for each other. I admired the way they do their best to look out for each other. I can see that there's so much more to each member than just the rockstar personality they show to their fans. I'm looking forward to exploring what's behind each of their personas. I must say, the women who throw themselves at the guys in the band are some of the most "aggressive" (and I use that term loosely) groupies I've ever read! 😂😂 I guess I don't read a lot of rock star romances.

Anyway, Bree is the youngest, but she seemed to be the one to have her head on straight and knew what she wanted more than the others. I understood her reasoning for not being upfront with her mother about what was going on, but it frustrated me that she kept blaming herself. Ajia had some things to work out, but overall, I liked his character. I loved him and Bree together. Bree initially goes on tour with her brother's band to get away from how bad things are at home, and even more so because of her feelings for Ajia. As it turns out, Ajia needed her. Bree was so good for him. She helped him see that maybe he did deserve something good in his life.

The rest of the band mates are cool, albeit silly at times. Ooh! I wanted to really smack Knox though! He's not that much older than his sister, Bree, but he treated her like he was her father. He acted like a bossy, mean jerk most of the time, and needed a swift kick in the butt! I'm glad Bree wasn't a push over. She stood up to her brother a LOT! His story is next, so I hope his heroine will give him a run for his money!

Wycked Crush is a must read, must BUY kinda book! It's got it all. First crush, check. Bad boys, check. Add in a little rock n roll, check. Add to that an over protective big brother, check. Mix with a little tortured soul and you've got Wycked Crush. It's a really good read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The only bad thing I can say is that it leaves you wanting more. But then again, isn't that what a good book should do. Can't wait for the next edition.

Good book to curl up to before bed!

Rockstar stories are a favorite genre to read. Bree and Aijia are the perfect couple and both love each other although he was protective from her growing closer from the beginning after forming a band. I believe that you will find the book a great story.

I am always up for a good rockstar romance and this one does not disappoint. Bree is the younger sister of Knox, the super protective lead guitarist of the band Wycked Obsession. A family situation lands Bree on tour with the band. She has had a crush on Ajia, the play boy lead singer, for 5 years and is wondering if he will ever see her as someone other than a kid sister. She also wonders if she will survive seeing him with all the groupies.

Both characters are well developed and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Ajia is a troubled bad boy and struggling to handle the demons from his teenage years. I enjoyed watching him evolve as a character - as finally faces his demons and learns that he is worthy of Bree’s love and not a bad person. I also enjoyed watching Bree mature as handles her potential relationship with Ajia, handles the situation with her stepfather, and handles her brother Knox’s need to butt into and control everything. The book is told from a dual POV, which I always love because I enjoy reading both main characters’ thoughts and feelings. The sex scenes are steamy and not OTP. The rest of the band members are entertaining. I cannot wait to for each of them to have their own books - especially Zayne and Rye. The next book, Wyked Rumor is about Knox. He was a pretty big jerk in this book, but I am ready for the author to peel back all his layers in Wycked Rumor.

What a Wycked ride!

This is my very first book by Ms. Roman and from what I read in her bio, this is her 3 novel and very first try at the rockstar trope. I wanted to mention that part because it's rare that an arthor first effort reads like one from a seasoned pro! The book is based on the fictious rock band Wycked Obession out of Austin, Texas. The first book is book introduces all of the members but the focus is on Ajia Stone, lead singer (pronounced Asia- I loved that she made sure we knew that. I get frustrated when I read a book and am never sure if I'm saying the characters name correctly) and Bree Gallagher. Bree is the baby sister of Knox, the lead guitarist and best friend of Ajia. She loves and is loved by all of the band mates but her love for Ajia is anything but brotherly. For reasons that I won't mention here but are explained in the book, Bree goes on tour with the band to promote their 2nd album. She decides to take a chance and make Ajia see her for the woman she is and not the little girl he once knew. Meanwhile, Ajia has his own demons from his past that haunt him. I can't say I loved this story enough. Ms. Roman has a new fan in me and I am dying to read the next story based on Knox Gallagher. Go get this book!

This book was everything I need in good romance. Was it something new? No. But honestly - who cares if it's something new? Everyone needs good romance from time to time. If not, Nora Roberts (yes, I did write one of most popular romance authors name here and no, I'm not saying that Wynne Roman's book was like one of Nora Robert's - in Wycked Crush is too many steamy scenes for that) wouldn't write for so many years.
This one (Wycked Cruch) is telling us story about Bree and Ajia. Ajia known as Pipes between friends is a lead singer in Wycked Obsession band. Bree is "just" a little sister of Knox - another band member (btw I wanna read Knox's story soooo much now, because that guy is such a control freak, that he needs a girl who'll show him his place - not nesseserly in bedroom, though).
Both, Bree and Ajia have some growing up to do, discovering each other, finding their HEA - and everything in the world of band's first big concert tour.
We've got some mystery stalking fan problem, which I hope to know more about in next books - who doesn't want a bit of complication and dangerous situations on their way to HEA? Well, at least in books. Complications in real life are a big no-no :D
Anyway. I do recommend reading Wycked Crush. It's good read. Strong 4,5 star from me

Wycked Crush
Wycked Obsession, Book 1
By: Wynne Roman
Narrated by: Nicole Blessing, Curt Bonnem

Wynne Roman rocks it! This book captivated me from the very start. The storylines are interesting throughout, a great mixed bag of intense, emotional, dramatic and hot moments! There is great character development and buildup. I loved the chemistry between the leads, Bree Gallagher & Ajia Stone, an angsty rockstar. This book is mainly Ajia & Bree’s story but the other members of Wicked Obsession appear often, all are interesting characters and I look forward to their stories. Wynne Roman, thank you for this great read/listen!!

I listened to the Audible version, Nicole Blessing & Curt Bonnem are awesome narrators & talented storytellers! They performed well together bringing the characters & their story to life from the pages to your ears. Thank you for another great listen!

Great read with a nice long term friendship that develops into more. They both have a past which is keeping them from each other the fear and guilt too much to overcome. The support from the rest of the band and her brother help when things become too much. If they can both work thru their stuff they may finally have the hea she has wanted since she was a teen.

Great characters plenty of laugh out loud moments and angst. An emotional ride with this new to me author I can't wait to read more from
