Instead of getting a degree and hunting for a job in the big and booming city of Bangalore, Ruchika finds herself weaving fantasies about the man who takes her heart away. A man who leaves her more unsettled than at peace.

As Ruchika struggles to reconstruct her life, she delves deeper into the mesh of lies, deceit, and heartbreak. What she uncovers is an enormous ocean of secrets that make her question everything about Rajeev and the life they built together. I can tell with complete honesty that, hands down this is literally one of the WORST books that I've ever read.
The lack of connectivity between each chapters, the complete childishness of Ruchika and Rajeev's and the so called inkling of chemistry shared by them was described like it's a card straight of Archie's. The book was written in 2017 and the author still uses the word SMS. Amazing. Reading this book was just a complete waste of time.

This book kept me enthralled from the very beginning. It's not common to come across a book this captivating. This book was phenomenal. The characters had so much depth, and the plot was so different; then her previous stories I have read by Maryam that I couldn't put this book down.

I loved it how different and strong the plot was and it was so amazingly and beautifully written. and I loved how well the storyline flowed. The characters were beautifully developed and so well complimented each other, Rajeev’s character was complex and intriguing and an enigma until the end of the story, Ruchi was a sweet and innocent girl and how she matures as the story progressed was very beautifully captured. We come simple girls like her who fall for a guy like Rajeev. Even though Rajeev’s character kept me on tenterhooks until the end with so many layers of mysteries and suspense surrounding him and with all his disappearing acts but I still liked his character very well developed and multifaceted sometimes I felt he had a split personality disorder . The way the story has ended ...it has left me craving for more, I just can't wait to read the next part of Renegade. Thank you for writing this book and sharing your talent with us. You are truly talented and gifted author. Kudos to you.

A story that one can't leave in middle

I have purchased this book from Amazon US. I have read such a romantic novel after around 15 years or so. All I want to say is Mariyam knows how to keep readers engaged. A fantastic love story to prove that two opposite thoughts can survive altogether. Full of suspense along with romance, erotica and sweet memories of the day Ruchika enjoyed with her parents, everyone must read.

I found Renegade to be well-written. However, sometimes the word choices seemed strange. For example, in Chapter 4, paragraph one, the sentence his smile killed me alive seems awkward. This can be overlooked, and I don't think it distracts from the novel too much.

Much like some of my observations in the earlier book I read, there were times when the dialog didn't flow as well as I would have liked. For example, the following sentence stands out to me. '“Unfortunately not. I think he likes Ankita, the red-headed tequila beauty in our microeconomic class,” I replied.' Hasnain, Mariyam. Renegade: An Unfamiliar Love Story (Kindle Locations 716-717). Kindle Edition.

My favorite character is Ruchika. She's the small town girl venturing into the big city for the first time. I think Ms. Hasnain captures that bewildering feeling that one gets perfectly. I found myself rooting for her.

The plot was easy to follow along with. I did take a break from reading this, however.

I would recommend this story to anyone who loves tension in their romance novels.

'And at a distance, the wind blew harder. The trees kissed each other. Thousands of stars flickered in the cloudless sky'

Ruchika was the epitome of a focused college student. That is, until a handsome stranger swept her of her feet. One minute Rajeev was flirting with her and the next minute he was gone. At times, she wondered if he was just a figment of her imagination. Being, that Ruchika was young and naive and inexperienced in her approach at love.

Renegade had tons of twists and turns and just enough suspense to keep the reader riveted to their seat. Kudos to Ms. Hasnain for her wonderful characterizations and attention to detail. I'm looking forward to taking the journey along with Ruchika and Rajeev in book #2 of Renegade!

Renegade – An Unfamiliar Love Story.

It’s a story of lonely Ruchika who meets enigmatic Rajeev and falls in love with him. Even after being warned about him, she goes ahead and they get married. After marriage she starts discovering dark sides of him and wonders whether she has made the right decision.
It is an engrossing read. The character of Ruchika is well formed. You feel for her. Also the suspense of Rajeev is well kept. It is never sure whether he is hero or villain. The characters stay with you even after finishing the book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mushy love stories with a dash of thrill.
