I've been an avid book reader since I was a teenager in the 1980's. My preferred genre's are science fiction and fantasy.

I wrote some short stories and was encouraged to try writing and self publishing by some friends. I work in computers and writing is an obsessive hobby I have been trying to hone for a couple of years now. I'll let you judge if I have succeeded or not.

I thought the idea behind this series was interesting, but I was put off in the first book as it started to turn into a teen romance. Fortunately in the second book Gerard only had a walk on part and I decided to keep going with the series.
Unfortunately, not only is Gerard back, but with the appearance of Katrina’s mother the whole thing has turned into a teen comic book.
It’s clear I am not the target audience for this series and I will not bother with anymore of these books.

Great storyline but ....

I am really enjoying this series and I've devoured the first three books in two days. The storyline is great if not a little weird in that Kat has only been on her new world for several weeks. The only problem I have is the lack of proof reading, there are so many spelling and grammatical mistakes that it's almost comical. It really is a testament to the freshness of the storyline that I read past the first book as usually the sheer volume of mistakes would have put me off part way through the first book. Oh, and please, please, please get over the use of the word 'hedonist ' I've lost count of the number of times it's been used, we get it Kat loves her husband and enjoys 'loving' him into exhaustion. Please find a proof reader as it would make an enjoyable series much better.

Good solid light fantasy series. I only say light because it isn't an Epic (LOTR) fantasy. It is a very well written and thought out story with characters that you like. The series has kept me entertained and wanting to read more. I don't know how many series stories I have gotten tired of and stopped reading after the 1st or in the middle of the 2nd book. It is a light and fun read for a nice break after reading hard Scifi or Epic fantasy. This writer puts actual thought into his story instead of hory old cliches and boring old hack writer standard plot devices.

this whole series was a lot of fun. It prompted me to read his other books, however these seem to have been the best of the lot
