Alien Moon: Helia's Shadow

Rate this book
Humans on the verge of extinction. Aliens who claim they've come to help. Human Helia and alien Kalo are Earth's last hope . . . Perfect for fans of Ender's Game, Divergent, Legend, and The 5th Wave!

Helia wants two things in life: to step out of the shadow of her brilliant but over-protective mother, and to stop hiding her secret relationship with alien Kalo. But Helia's world, where humans balance on the edge of extinction, is rapidly growing even more perilous. The human-alien partnership is crumbling. Humans are being arrested without explanation, and many are never seen again.

When the alien leader Reku imprisons Helia's mother on a false charge, Helia begins to uncover the conspiracy behind the aliens' presence on Earth. Now, she must join forces with alien rebels and put into motion her own secret invention--and it's humanity's last hope. If she succeeds, humans have a chance at survival and she has a chance at love. If she fails, the dwindling human race dies out in slavery.

NOTE: This is an updated and re-titled edition of the book previously published as Helia's Shadow Part One (Starlight Age Series Book 1).

Most of K.C. Neal's days are filled with some combination of writing, reading, gardening, working, and watching stuff on Netflix with her maltipoo, Oscar. She has an irrational fixation with L.A., and during occasional trips there she pretends her life is more glamorous than it really is ("Entourage" is her guilty pleasure). She likes to surf and hang out on sandy beaches, especially where drinks are served adorned with tiny umbrellas.

Really excellent way the story moves. Some words didn't make sense but all in all it was a great book. Good action scenes and love that it wasn't all about love and romance
