Very good.

A very well done overview. Just enough detail to paint the picture and provide you with a good understanding of the events.

D-Day by Captivating History did an awesome summary of the actual D-Day landings and of the overall strategy, execution, and adaptation for the desired outcome of a liberated France and a defeated German army.

I equally appreciated the inclusion of the French resistance; details of the American, the British, and the Canadian advancements up the coast and into the interior.

An excellent read! I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading many more of Captivating History’s works in the future.

Kindle Unlimited, these books {Captivating History} remind me of my high school history teacher {who was also the Debate Couch} Ted Kaylor. For tests we didn't have to really know exact dates so much as what happened and WHY it happened, so would help figure out if something like it had happened before and why and if it could happen again. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it; in today's world it wouldn't be so much a World War as Global one, which would mean destruction for planet. My father was not in this war {although sure some older relatives were}, but it was after the family migrated from Germany, and the one my father's generation was mixed up in was Vietnam, to give someone an idea of my age {last of the 'baby boomers'}. To read about what so many fought for and what so many had to overcome, and why, that is what don't need to forget.

Fantastic overview of D-Day and Operation Overlord

I downloaded this book as I was selected to participate in the 75th commemoration of D-Day. I wanted to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the operation and all that went into it. This book definitely assisted with that. It gives a broad overview of Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord. It is a short and fast read and really makes you want to learn more about the Second World War.
