Jeannette Sanderson has been writing and telling stories since she was a child. The author and her husband moved to Peekskill more than 30 years ago and raised their children here. Somewhat repetitive, slightly simplistic, but helpful overview of this often challenged/banned YA classic. Billed as "perfect for students, parents and teachers" it breaks down the themes, characterizations and plot along with author comments, insights and her writing process details. Overall, a good companion book to use while reading the novel, especially if doing so with a child.
