After hundreds of years, they have finally found their place in the sun…
The Novai are the white-skinned, black-haired alien race native to nowhere—or are they? Centuries of confinement to a single massive mothership in space has turned the Novai into ghostly shadows of what they once were. However, all of that is about to change.
Captain Arguute Hett is on a mission to find himself and his people a planet to call their own after spending many lifetimes as galactic nomads. With the help of a fleet of kindly blue A’li-uud, he finds himself in a world full of possibilities. What dangers lurk amongst the trees, what creatures live inside the caverns, Hett doesn’t know…but he’s willing to find out if it means finally putting down roots and waking up beneath the warm rays of sunshine every morning.
There are risks, though, great risks that must be considered for the benefit of his kind. If they have indeed found themselves an everlasting territory and Hett decides to settle there, he is almost certainly condemning most of his race to death by an evolutionary affliction. If he resigns to continuing life as space-bound travelers, the Novai will be doomed to extinction too soon.
Should Captain choose in favor of the present some, or should he act in favor of the future many? What is the fate of the dwindling race of Novai going to be after all?

Such an awesome prequel. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I was really getting into the book and WOW suddenly it was over LOL! An easy and short introduction to this series that I think anyone who enjoys dragons will really love.
Oh this series looks like it is going to be a really good one!! This is the prequel for the series was fast to read but gave some good insight to what this series is aiming towards. Can't wait for the first full story to come out!!
I know this is a prequel but to be truly honest I found it lacking. As a prequel I expected to be mesmerized n intrigued by the author to invest myself into reading future episodes. That didn't happen!! It instead left me wondering who or what are the Novai? Why was there mentions of dwellings similar to Earth on this planet they were exploring? How long were they in space or affiliated with the Aluuid? I initially thought that the Captain was a female since I hadn't read the blurb for the book. So imagine my surprise when I go to write my review n find out that he's a male. These r just a few of the questions that were not addressed in the plot. Nor did I see anything that resembled a paranormal romance theme, which I do love to read by the way. So for me this book was uninteresting. If it's an example of the way that other books will be handled, then count me out. I hate cliffhangers!! I know this may sound harsh but I don't do KU so my books (if not free or reduced) r bought. Being on a fixed income I value my time n my wallet. Would I recommend this book to another reader, NO!!!
The Novai are an alien race who have had no home for centuries but with the help of the A’li-uud from the Albaterra series they are searching for a new home planet. The captain of their large mothership Arguute Hett is working with the A'li-uud and doing his best to face dangers in a determined effort to put down roots and walk beneath the sun even though it may put some in danger it will in the long run benefit the many.
This is the book that joins the Albaterra books with the Novi books and sets the scene quite nicely. A great start to the series and I really hope it continues to be as good as it promises to be.
This is a nice transition from Albaterra Mates into the lives on the Novi whom they allied humans and A’li-uud help find their own planet. A story is left to unfold into the new planet, regression of the Novi to their land-based forms and the new lives to be lived. I am leaving a voluntary review.
I loved the Albaterra Mates series, which is where we first heard of the Novai race. Now as they search for a planet of their own with help from Albaterra warriors and ships, they may have just found one. I can't wait to see how many survive the sun sickness and begin their new life on a new world. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a gift but man I was very disappointed. Prequels for me are to introduce an author’s series to me. This just wasn’t a good impression. It was hard to follow and I just didn’t like it.
