Photos are clear and really show what the crystals look like so they are easily identifiable in the shop. This is a simple book, tells you what you can do with the crystal and a bit of history on it. It does not go into depth or feature many crystals, this is a quick reference book on crystals and focuses more on their spiritual healing aspects. It's a good book for beginners, as it won't bog you down with too many crystals and tons of info. It is also excellent for the pro, as it is a quick look up reference book. This is a small compact and easy to use book listing all the main power crystals to help with meditations and for increasing your connection to your higher self while working with the crystals.
I do have one query; one of the photos – Healer’s Gold - looks nothing like a real specimen of the crystal. Could the wrong photo have been published?

Breakaway Reviewers received a copy of the book to review.
Just as I start all my reviews this one starts out with the actual quality of the book itself. The copy I was sent is a hard cover book with a mat cover finish. It has a fabric feel and actually feels good in the hands. I was reminded of the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" when I looked inside this book. The cover is not very flashy. I hope that when this it out for sale, it has a dust jacket or something that will give the buyer a sense of how fabulous the photos are inside.
I was blown away at the quality of the images inside. The cover tricked me into thinking this would be something bland and simple. But to the contrary, I was astounded at most of the images.
The Labradorite and the Reticulated Quartz are amazing. They look as though you could just pick them up right off the page. The book is a nice size for tossing in a tote bag, or backpack for easy reference. I also like that the pages are glossy. This gives it a good feel in the hands. I really like the spine alignment and the page edges. Excellent printing and binding on this one.
The author begins the book with an introduction to crystals in general with sections on how to find the right ones and attunement. I think this is missing is a great many crystal books and I'm really surprised at times when I read about them being tossed in a bag or left in a window for a long period of time without any information on recharging, cleansing or draining processes.
The crystal information begins on page 16 and is the bulk of the book. Each crystal has a large full page photo and basic descriptions provided as well as info under the headings of "Heal, Transform and Realize" This book contains some of the more well known crystals, such as Amber and Amethyst and some that I had not heard of like Shiva Lingam. The Stibnite and Sugilite photos are amazing. I cannot get over the absolute stunning quality of the images in this book.
The back of the book contains a section about the author, a glossary and an index which, in my humble opinion, makes a book extremely useful as reference material. While the crystals are listed in alphabetical order, the index opens up the content to include pages based on historical figures like Alexander the Great to illness such as diabetes and cancer. This allows the reader to truly leverage the the content from all sorts of perspectives without having to the exact name of the crystal being sought.
Over all this is a really great book to have in any collection and I can see it being a reference for me in my work with crystals for my jewelry.
Crystal Seer: Power Crystals for Magic, Meditation & Ritual The darn physical book The first thing about Crystal Seer: Power Crystals for Magic, Meditation & Ritual that stood out to me right away was the cover. It’s a fabric of some sort–a fabric of light pink that is unforgiving to anything dusty, colored, or dirt. I don’t know who thought it’d be a good idea to give a light-colored book a fabric cover.
While I love the color, and the graphics (one blue crystal) and I love the fact that it’s a thin, vertically-blessed book the damn fabric cover just ruins the whole presentation after it’s been carried around for a day. (I bring my books everywhere with me.)
But, yoga Though I’m hating on the cover a lot, I do like how compact the book is. While it’s tall, it’s also thin and fits in the small pocket in my yoga mat holder which is a fantastic perk. What better place to read about crystals and their magic? Though I don’t bring a lot of crystals into yoga, I do wear pendants that I decide based on both what feels good and what I want to bring into my practice. With
The author drew me into this book: Judy Hall. I’ve read several of her other books and swear by The Crystal Bible so anything by Judy Hall is something I’ll be reading. Hall is incredibly knowledgeable on crystal healing and crystals in general.
Irksome One thing that irks me bout most crystal books is that some pictures are in raw format and some are polished. Ideally, I’d see both forms so that I can identify what I have. I’ve found that several crystals look different when polished as opposed to their raw format. I would absolutely love to find a book that provides both examples.
The crystals listed Something else I found disappointing about this book is that it covers many crystals that are hard to come by and expensive. I have a multitude of crystals…that I can afford. I cannot blow $20 per crystal while other crystals can do something similar. For instance, clear Quartz is an all-encompassing stone that works for just about anything while Garnet is hard for me to gather. I have beads of Garnet but I prefer to work either with raw stones or tumbled.
Each page has a crystal with a description of the crystal and it’s properties, as well as ways you can use them in rituals and meditation. However, the crystals aren’t delved as deeply as some other books are. If you want to know more information on the crystals then The Crystal Bible is a great complimentary book to use.
Yes, buy this book You are pulled right into it without a safety vest, though it isn’t hard to follow along. However, I did find that some of this book is more advanced. This isn’t so much a beginners book in the sense that it doesn’t cover all the crystals or go into great detail. Overall, this is a book I’d buy for myself or a friend who’s interested on this topic or even just exploring. The author is a huge part of why I’d recommend this book and the information that is provided on each crystal is golden. I’m especially pleased with how this book explores the spiritual component of crystals and how to use them in meditation and ritual.
Hands down this has been my favorite crystal book I’ve read so far. The pictures are beautiful, and you can practically feel the energy of each crystal through the page.
Besides the strong visual appeal, the author writes about each crystal in a highly insightful way. You can tell she’s had a lot of experience in this realm and the descriptions go beyond general information that I’ve read on the internet or other beginner guides.
I would highly recommend this book, and I find that it’s something I’ve turned to again and again when it comes to crystal care and healing.
