This book was really great. I was worried that given the subject matter-- a guy who was on a path to being a champion skier ends up working with the disabled-- it might veer into overly sentimental territory, but it did not. The plot was multi-faceted (instructors' rivalry with local college kids, a romance) & it really sparked my interest in adaptive sports. I picked it up initially because I like to read fiction that involves skiing, but this novel was very unique. I'm now looking for adaptive skiing programs to volunteer for :)

Finished 09/19/2011. An outstanding story about 3 people whose lives are headed in a negative direction getting together on the ski slopes and realizing that they each have a hand in their own future and finding a way to arrive in a better place personally.

An interesting and satisfying story about people with disabilities finding meaning and camaraderie in skiing.
