When Tasha Baker loses her job, her friend hooks her up with a babysitting job for entertainment lawyer Matt Wilde. Sparks fly between the bachelor and Tasha, but she only wants a job with good benefits and to stay out of Matt’s way.
Tasha is feisty, passionate and everything he never knew he needed. The more he’s around her, the more wildly in love he falls. She doesn’t know he’s ready to offer her the most permanent job of her life…his wife.
When the word gets out in Miami’s entertainment industry that Matt has a new woman, women come out strong to fight for Tasha’s new position. Will Matt and Tasha be able to handle the firebrands that come gunning for their love?
This girl loves a good book--especially books that suck you into the pages and take you to new worlds, providing a much needed break from the everyday hustle. I'm obsessed with happily ever after and feel good romances that serve up a strong dose of reality.
When one plots and schemes to do dirt to others, it always comes back to bite you in the azz. That's what Melinda Lory found out the hard way. Matthew Wilde only had eyes for Tasha Baker. He wanted her from the first time they met and so did she. They keep their desires at bay for Cody's sake.
This was a story about a young woman trying to adjust her life after being unfairly fired from her dream job. Her time as Cody's babysitter was very rewarding to her and filled a spot she did not know she needed. She and Matt, unable to resist the pull any longer succumbed to their carnal desires for each other. Matt, a confirmed bachelor, had to take in to consideration what was best for his nephew Cody. Both he and his nephew fell in love with Tasha.
I love how Shani wrote in Tasha's cousin Destiny and her family in the story. It was nice to see them again and how well Matt and Cody fit in with the family.
My heart dropped at the drama hateful Melinda threw into Matt and Tasha's relationship. Shani wrote this situation with heart. I could feel the angst Tasha and Matt felt in this situation. But in the end, the love is stronger and can not be destroyed but grows stronger!
Okay, I judged this book by the cover, but this is NOT an MC romance. It's about a Matthew, an entertainment lawyer (he owns a harley) who is raising his 10-year-old nephew, Cody. Matt needs a permanent sitter for his nephew and in walks Tasha with a resume that's not really up to par to land the job. However, she wins him over with her enthusiasm and an unintentional flash of leg.
Tasha is between jobs having lost her blog writing job due to two scheming female co-workers. She quickly realizes and so do her interim employers that her heart isn't in anything but writing! Still, the bills need to be paid, so her friend stakes her reputation that the fourth time's a charm. Only it's not! Cody and Tasha share a fast bond and before you know it they're best buds. Cody is smart and cute and steals the book!
Angst? Of course there has to be a bit of angst! Matt becomes concerned about his reputation after something from Tasha's past is brought to his attention. He wasn't thinking about his all important reputation when he whisked Tasha to a dark corner and had sex with her! Matt became very judgemental and unforgiving and wouldn't listen to her explanation. Though I understood the concern for this nephew, I wasn't totally sold on the effects it would have on his work reputation. Since Matt is raising a child, Matt could have turned it into a teachable moment about second chances and forgiveness.
I loved Tasha’s story! After failed attempts of maintaining any job after her writing career was abruptly sabotaged, Tasha lands a babysitting job. Where she not only finds love but gains a lil buddy, Cody. My favorite part was when she stood up for Cody when he was being bullied at school. I was so glad she got to be a permanent fixture in Matt and Cody’s life! This whole Breathless series was a hit with me. Excellent story from Shani!💕💕💕
So I don’t do stories where character behavior is realistic. I need to be able to believe that their decisions are ones that would be made by normal people that this story though fiction could happen if the setting were real. The h in this story though funny she was a mess and in a way I could see her behavior as real but everything else that unfolded just didn’t make sense. Spoiler below warning
Who leaves their child with someone who they don’t know and haven’t fully vetted? Who recommends a p rain with a bad track record for a position that if gone wrong reflects poorly on you? Who lets someone come back to their house who almost burned it down
This was a nice smooth romance that progressed from zero to 100 with some expected hiccups along the way. The DVD fiasco was very relevant as there has been an increasing amount of stories out pertaining to that. For those consenting adults who deliberately release such personal info that's one thing. But for people who lie, sneak or those who do that from some twisted well of revenge...it is profoundly disturbing & loathsome. It's a HEA which gives moral lessons on truth, disclosure and communication with a healthy dose of hope. Well done!
Really good book except for the makeup. Not realistic at all.If someone cut you out of their life that quick and cold, I am certain one would have to give a little pause, before rushing back into a relationship with that same person who couldn't bother to hear your side of the story!Other than that, it was a great read.
They say the tongue has power and Matt said some pretty hurtful things. Man I thought he was gonna blow it! Matt figured it out quick and went back for Tasha. Did she accept his appology or was his words to hurtful. Gotta check out the other Breathless series books.
I love Matt Wilde, he doesn't waste time. .. his heart knows what his heart wants and go after it. Tasha is strong, sweet (sucks at petty jobs .lol ), love her man and Cody. .. together they are beautiful ! Great read !
This is my first time reading this author, and I thought it was a cute story... Very hilarious and simply nice... A good one to read and start a new day off nice with a lot of hope
I really enjoyed Tasha's story. It was nice to see her fall in love after witnessing her cousin and aunt find the loves of their life. Matt is a great catch who almost let his good thing slip away but hand to be reminded by his nephew Cody.
Image shouldn't have to be everything rather positive or negative. People shouldn't judge a person's character based on their past. A person past shapes their future either for good or bad. I'm glad Matt had to realize that. Tasha is the best. I enjoyed their story.
I really enjoyed TASHA & MATT’s love story. Tasha deserved to have a HEA. I just wished she would have been able to slap the mess out of those two Heifers. I enjoyed it glad to revisit Destiny & Jacob for a little bit. Ms Greene-Dowdell always do a lovely job.
Matt and Tasha's story is an awesome read. This book had me laughing from beginning to end.Tasha lost her job became a babysitter she didn't have experience for, captured the hearts of a nephew and his uncle. A must read!!!!
Matt was a stand up guy and he really loved and cared for his nephew, Cody. He and Tasha were such a good fit. Glad they worked thru their minor snafu.
This was a good solid story that was so very entertaining and I don't know when I have laughed so much. The writer captures all that is good in a old fashioned romance.
I enjoyed this Breathless Series and it seems to be the end. Tasha's story was good and I was glad her old boss got what she deserved, but what of Nina? I am just gonna assume she went away quietly. Matt, Cody and Tasha got their HEA.

A heartwarming story finding love and keeping it. I have read this complete series and I loved each and everyone of them . At first I was pissed at Tasha because she let her two co-workers get the best of her. Would have beat then down or found away to make sure they got thier comeuppance. But with Matt and code's love ( til Matt made that mistake, wanted to hit him. But he fixed it). She got her groove back and was happy. Thanks Boo for another awesome story
