Review at Of Pens and Pages.

Dr. Neuro is an adorable, hilarious and light romantic comedy filled with fun trivia nights, spontaneous dates and sizzling sexual tension between a swoon-worthy hero and a fun and lovable heroine.

St. Luke’s Docuseries concludes with the last standalone, Dr. Neuro. Dr. Nick Raines, the Chief of Neurosurgery at St. Luke’s hospital, is happily settled in New York to be with his 10-year old daughter, Lexi. He’s making up for the time he wasn’t there for Lexi (and her mother, Winnie) when he left New York for a better opportunity in the West Coast. He’s finally making progress in repairing his relationship with his daughter, and he will do everything to make sure nothing ruins it.

So when headhunter Charlotte Hollis pays him a visit to offer him a job in a hospital in California—an offer that would make anyone see stars—Nick says no. It was an easy decision, too. He thinks his clear and blatant no would end all contact with the pretty blonde, but instead, he finds himself becoming her partner for trivia night at Cornerstone Tavern.

Sometimes, things that go too smoothly don’t stay that way forever. Just when Charlotte and Nick’s relationship is becoming more serious, there’s a possibility everything Nick worked hard for will be ruined if people in his life find out about Charlotte. Now, the decision to let her go was a no-brainer, yet it was the hardest he’s ever done.

For me, this couple was the most adorable of the three! The start of their relationship was fun and so effortless, mostly thanks to Charlotte’s bubbly personality and spontaneity. They have this kind of banter that makes you grin and an equally strong chemistry that sizzles throughout the story.

Charlotte is a breath of fresh air! Unfiltered in every way—her words, thoughts, even in bed. She never holds back. What you see is what you get from her, yet she never fails to surprise Nick. She’s exactly what he needs.

Life without Charlotte didn’t feel less colorful; it felt dead.”

Nick is reliable and consistent. I love him! A gentleman and a wonderful father to Lexi, an equally wonderful little girl. He made mistakes in the past, but he’s trying his best to become a better man. To be honest, I related more to him—a person who’s gotten used to habits and is weary to do things outside the usual—than Charlotte.

If you’ve read Max Monroe’s other books, specifically the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you’re probably not a fan of Nick. Personally, I haven’t read the series, but I believe Nick redeemed himself quite wonderfully. There are a few familiar faces here, Winnie and Wes specifically. There’s also Winnie’s brother, Remy, a guy I want to read more about.

The book had a few drama that was settled easily, so most of the story is light. Dr. Neuro is a feel-good book that will make you laugh, sigh, and maybe even tear up.

P.S. Nick is mine. (I mean, I guess we can share.)

Tropes: Friends to Lovers, Single Father
POV: First Person, Dual POV
Standalone: Yes; Third book in a series

The 3rd book in this adorable & hilarious Doctor Trilogy!
It's a kind of spin-off from the amazing Billionaire Bad Boys series - book #1's hero Will is the brother from the first Billionaire books' heroine Georgie! And Nick - our Dr. Neuro - is the ex and baby-daddy from book #3's Winnie.☺
You don't need to have read those Billionaire books, but you definitely should!!! They're hilarious and just perfect!
This new series will feature three hottie docs and their lives during/after they stupidly signed on for a TV DOCuseries!

Doc number #3 is Nick. You might know him from the Billionaire Bad Boys series. We didn't like him much - he left Winnie when she was pregnant, and he was pretty much an absentee dad for the first seven years of his daughter's life. But now he's back in NYC and his little girl means everything to him.
That's why he says NO, when head-hunter Charlotte offers him a job in Los Angeles.
But she's not giving up. She knows he won't take the job because of his daughter, but he might be open for the job as a happily ever after for Charlotte!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH CHARLOTTE & NICK?
WILL THERE BE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER???
BUY THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

Finally book #3!

And it was just as amazing as the first two!
Hilarious. Sweet. Sexy. Heartbreakingly Moving. Perfect!

Nick is an incredibly talented brain surgeon and Charlotte is a person who convinces incredibly talented doctors to accept better-paying jobs. But that's not happening with Nick. He needs to stay in New York.
That NO, I'm not taking your offer, should've been the last thing he said to her. But nope...she's still in his life. And he kinda doesn't know why? What is happening? Why is she taking him to lunch and why is she flirting and why does he like it all so much??? Has he been working too much for the last 15 years that he doesn't get it when a woman is mega interested in him?
Could he maybe have a real relationship? He never thought he could - he wants to be there for his little girl 100%. But Charlotte makes it very hard to resist her charms - and her laugh - her crazy-ass loud laugh!

This book was sooo adorable!
I wasn't sure I would be able to like Nick - after the way we got to know him in Winnie's book, but he's so sweet now. He tries so hard to be perfect for Lexi and he is! He's so amazing.
And Charlotte. OMG, she's the perfect fit for him. She's dragging him out of his comfort zone and he loves it. But of course he has his daughter to think of first - and there might be some problems looming ahead....

PERFECT ROMANCE!
I laughed, I cried (a lot!) and I just wanted to jump into the book and hug them all and go to Trivia Night with them!

DR. NEURO was such an amazingly adorable doc-romance! Funny, sexy, sweet, moving - just perfect! Please run to your nearest amazon for your own Nick, because this one is MINE! ☺

The dynamic duo that make up Max Monroe is taking one hell of a risk at giving Dr. Nick Raines his happily ever after. It might not matter to some, but for fans of Max Monroe's work, he might be considered an irredeemable character. I'm going to be honest and say...that thought definitely ran through my mind before I started this book. After absolutely DEVOURING this book cover to cover in one sitting, I can tell you that Dr. Raines IS, in fact, redeemable. And besides, if ANYONE can give a character redemption after what he did, I would put all my money on the team of Max Monroe. Trust me, not everyone will be swayed like I was, and they will have their reasons, but the way that Nick Raines stepped up in this book, took me by surprise in the best way possible. In the end, I was SO HAPPY that Nick got his HEA. He never forgot what he did and he has punished himself enough. Others have forgiven him, this story is his journey at forgiving himself.

Ok, now that the heavy stuff is out of the way, I can honestly say Max Monroe has DONE IT AGAIN! I feel like you can NEVER go wrong with their brand of romance...NEVER! Despite the heavy, this romantic comedy was SO FREAKING GOOD! We were introduced to Charlotte Hollis, the heroine of Dr. Neuro, and oh boy was she a FANTASTIC character! I was incredibly envious of her confidence and her drive. In the end, she was the ABSOLUTE PERFECT MATCH for our man, Nick Raines. She pulled him out of his lonely shell and brought him back to life. I LOVED these two together so much! DR. NEURO had EVERYTHING you have come to expect from this author duo...hilarity, eroticism, sweetness, and off-the-charts chemistry! And let me tell you, there was an angsty twist that I didn't see coming in this one! I can't wait for you to experience Dr. Neuro in its entirety, and I can't wait for you to FALL HARD for these characters just as I did.

We met Dr Nick Raines in the Billionaire Bad Boys series. He is Winnie’s daughter Lexi’s dad. He was an absent father but has moved back to NYC and is trying to make up for his past neglect. He always provided for Lexi but lived across the country and wasn’t an involved parent. Even though he is the Chief of Neurosurgery at St Luke’s he has made a real effort to spend every spare moment he has with his daughter.

Charlotte Hollis is a headhunter and approaches Nick with a job offer in California. Even though it would be the perfect opportunity Nick is not willing to move away from his daughter again not even for the dream job. That should be the end of their contact but Charlotte ropes him into a night of trivia at the Cornerstone Tavern and so their relationship blooms.

I love Nick’s daughter, her bluntness is awesome and she is hilarious without even knowing it. Charlotte has the BEST personality. She’s hilarious, effervescent and has such a warm and kind heart. She and Nick have great chemistry and their banter back and forth in person and on text is enjoyable.

I will say there was a twist to this story that I really didn’t see coming. It seemed like a tangled mess that could only end in heartbreak.

Review by Lisa Kane

I’ve read everything from the writing team of Max Monroe. When I read Scoring the Billionaire, I remember the loathing that I had for Winnie’s baby daddy, Nick Raines. He was the guy who skipped out on Winnie when she found out she was pregnant. He had a major offer in another part of the country that would fast track his neuro career. He wasn’t going to let a baby or a pregnant girlfriend stand in his way. So Winnie became a single mom, eventually met Wes and married him. Nick came in and out of her daughter Lexi’s life. Towards the end of the story, he made a better effort to become a good dad-he had moved back to New York and was spending time with Lexi. But in my mind-a douche is still a douche.

So imagine my surprise when I realized that the hero of the last book in the St. Luke’s Docuseries series is about Nick Raines. Apparently, it’s a few years after Scoring the Billionaire’s timeline, Nick has Lexi every other weekend and his life revolves around work and his daughter. His co-worker, Will Cummings, convinces him to be one of the bachelor’s on the reality show that he is featured on –a decision that all of the guys have since regretted.

“I don’t feel like talking. I don’t feel like commiserating over your fallen reputation, and I don’t feel like forgiving you for talking me into this mess.” I knew there was no real way Will could have known the direction this show would go or the unintended consequences it would have on my life, but anger wasn’t reasonable. Neither was I.

Charlotte Hollis works for as a headhunter for a hospital based company recruiting the top talent for their system. She’s finally back in New York and is thrilled not to be travelling as much. Nick Raines is on her list as a possible candidate for her group. At their first meeting, it’s obvious that they both are more than a little attracted to each other. Where’s this going?

Basically, if this was Nick Raines, he was sexy as fuck. Most forty-year-old neurosurgeons looked like they’d been run over a few times by a van thanks to unforgiving schedules, unreal pressure, and a stubborn inability to delegate.

Once Nick finds out that the job, as lucrative as it is, is out of state, he shuts down the possibility. He won’t leave his daughter again.

Even though they won’t be doing business with each other, there’s lots of unfinished business between them. There is more than a little angst in this story. Nick is a dad first, and he makes decisions based on what he thinks is best for his daughter. I hated one of those decisions. Hated it…

Charlotte has made some mistakes in her past, and they aren’t going to stay in the past. Expect your mouth to make little “O’s” when things come to light. Did I totally forgive Nick? Nope. I have to admit that I had a hard time seeing past this guy’s mistakes. And clearly, he kept on messing. Up. For the most part, I liked Charlotte, but she tries way too hard to win Lexi’s affections. While it’s natural to want to get along with Nick’s daughter, I guess she must have felt that if she didn’t win her over, maybe things between her and Nick would nosedive.

Lexi Winslow was a gifted little girl. There was no doubt about it. The only doubt I had was whether I was making the actual cut or not.

While I wasn’t as crazy about this one as the first two in the series, if I hadn’t known Nick’s back-story I may have been a lot more forgiving of his mistakes. As always the writing from Max Monroe was solid, it was the disconnect with the main characters that held me back.

I guess I was biased, but when it came to love, wasn’t being biased a good thing?
It meant that you only had eyes for that person and you loved every little piece of them, even their flaws. Through your eyes, they were everything.

5 "I think I have it bad for the brain surgeon" stars!

Honestly I've been waiting for Nick Raines story since I read Scoring the Billionaire (Remy's too, COUGH.. HINT... COUGH.. all Winnie's brothers. COUGH... HINT. Hmm, must be something in the air.) Anywho. Like I was saying I've been waiting for this book, and guess what... Max Monroe gave me every single thing that I wanted and needed with Nick's story.

Nick is FINALLY in a good place with being the father he wants to be. He's FINALLY in a sort of comfortable place with his ex and her new husband. He's working as a neurosurgeon at a great New York hospital, close to his daughter, and he's doing what he worked so hard for years for. Life is just good. So why not throw a burst of light and laughter in to mix things up?

Charlotte has lived the life that she has wanted so far. She's a headhunter for CMI. Recruiting some of the best in business and even the medical field. Yes she may have hurt some people along the way, but she's happy with her job. Happy with her life, and finally being back in New York City after years of traveling all over. What more could a girl ask for? Well, she asks for nothing and she gets everything in Nick Raines.

I don't really want to say much more, because going into this story without know what would happen was pretty fun. I like that although Nick is connected to characters that may be familiar if your a Max Monroe reader, you're getting his story. You get both characters POV's, and it makes it easy to fall for them both. The love story in this one is so easy and so fun. I really enjoyed how real these two feel. I love that they are in this place in life where they aren't really looking for each other, but they find each other anyway. Ugh. I can't gush more about these two, because I truly enjoyed their story. It was hot, unexpected, steamy, romantic, sweet, fun, and even a little sad at some points.

If you enjoy contemporary romance I'd absolutely give Dr. NEURO a shot. It is part of the St. Luke's docuseries, but can absolutely be read as a standalone IMO.

5 REDEEMING CROWNS

Dr. Neuro by Max Monroe might very well be my favorite story by this phenomenal writing duo. With the perfect balance of humor and romance, Nick and Charlotte's story enchanted me from their first encounter.

Nick was a secondary character in the final installment of the Billionaire Bad Boys series, Scoring the Billionaire, acting as the absentee father to Winnie's intelligent and lovable daughter, Lexi. As readers of that series, we don't really have a great impression of him, but in Dr. Neuro we get to see a whole different side of Nick. We see his motivations, what pushes him to make the wrong, but in his head right, decisions. We see him working every day to make it right with Winnie, Wes, Remy, and Lexi. Basically, Max Monroe gets readers to fall head over heals in love with this man, and to see him really come to life when he is with Charlotte only adds to the already alluring Dr. Raines. He checks off all of my boxes: sexy, intelligent, compassionate, doting father and boyfriend. If I was single, he would be the example I compare all men to.

Charlotte has this vibrancy to her character. She makes readers want to go out into the world for an adventure. Spontaneous to the core, she rolls with punches. Charlotte also has an incredible heart, and her capacity to love is immense with everyone. There is not one aspect of her character that I didn't love. She is also where we get glimpses of that signature Max Monroe humor, so, of course, Charlotte had me laughing throughout the novel.

This story is PERFECT. Every moment from texting to the more intimate interactions serves to bolster their initial attraction to each other, but what really made me LOVE this story is the unexpected complication in their relationship. I honestly didn't see it coming, and when it arrives, it was heartbreaking to watch these two amazing characters with the chance at something rare and special blow up. The subsequent fall out did nothing to help my heart, but Max Monroe gives readers the best ending for everyone, making me love all of the characters of this amazing family.

Dr. Neuro wraps up another amazing romantic comedy series of standalones from Max Monroe. Their books provide endless entertainment and swoonworthy moments, and I love how they are not only standalones for readers wanting to start in the middle of the series but also little connections to previous stories for those who have read other books in the series. It truly caters to all types of readers.

This world is one I hope they return to again and again with new sets of characters, because I will never get tire of coming back.

As those who read The Phantom Paragrapher reviews will notice that I somehow am destined to read most series out of order. I never mean to, I swear but it just totally happens to be that way for me, and it has happened on more than several occasions. At least though in the majority of series that I somehow end up reading out of order, it's all good as they are standalone stories within the series. Take Dr. NEUROtic by Max Monroe for example as this is Book #3 in the series. I have yet to read the previous two but loved this one so much that they will be making their way further up my TBR list. I had a feeling that I would enjoy this book as I love a few hospital dramas like Code Black, Chicago Med and I was a fan of Melissa George's Heartbeat. It could be stemmed from the fact that growing up in New Zealand, our major soap opera that everyone is exposed to is a hospital drama called Shortland Street. Anyway, back to Dr. Neurotic aka Nick Raines. He has prided himself on being the best of the best, and now he is being headhunted for a job in California. Charlotte has been tasked with persuading him, but soon she will realize that he will never budge. One thing leads to another, and the pair has sparkling chemistry, and their love is captured on camera as Nick is currently one of three male doctors being filmed in a series about the hospital St. Lukes. What will happen though when their relationship takes things to the next level, only for Charlotte's past to come roaring back and the guy she left at the altar is closer to Nick than either of them realized. Can Charlie and Nick work things out to be happy or will they sacrifice their love for one another to please everyone else and keep the peace between families and friends? Find out in Book #3 Dr. NEUROtic by Max Monroe. I enjoyed this book so much that I am now looking forward to going back with my devices and reading Max Monroe's backlist of books.

Doctor Doctor, give me the news I've got a bad case of lovin' you!

Time for us to meet the head of Neurological surgery, Dr Nick Raines.

Now, if you have read the Billionaire Bad Boys series, you will remember Nick - he is Winnie's daughter's baby daddy who skipped out on her for a job.

I didn't know how Max Monroe were going to redeem him after the way I felt about him, but redeem him they did.

In fact, I liked him a lot more than I thought I would! I liked that he dropped everything to be a father to Lexi.

Enter Charlotte - I freaking adore her. She knows what she wants, and she goes after it - and she want Nick. And plus, I think we would be great partners at trivia nights, since I have a head full of useless knowledge and like giving teams weird names.

I loved how they are together. She pulls him right out of his comfort zone right from the start, and he adores her for it. But will it be enough?

The road to true happiness is never a smooth one, and there are a few speed bumps on the way there for Nick and Charlotte, however I loved every word of their story.

And I can't forget the little scene stealer, Nick and Winnie's girl Lexi. There is nothing that I don't adore about this girl!

Dr Neuro is a cute, sweet and funny story, with a few heartaches thrown in for good measure.

Can't wait to see what this dynamic duo brings us next.

The sweetest book in this series.
Likable hero, sassy strong heroine. Safe.
If not for his past mistakes (he left his gf and daughter), I would have clicked 4 stars.
And I wasn’t fond of the twist + drama.

Nevertheless my favorite in this series.

I have a new flavor of the month and that is Dr. Neuro(tic) by Max Monroe, book three of the St. Luke’s docuseries. What a great way to punctuate this series with another romantic comedy so rich topped with some bittersweet tang!

I must admit, I was hesitant about Nick Raines when I first heard that he’s getting his story. From what I gathered from the Bad Boy Billionaires series, he was this asshole who left Winnie and their daughter Lexi for greener pastures. But much to my surprise, I didn’t dislike Nick at all - I adored him. Shy, subdued at the beginning then slowly released his ammos with suave. Oh, he was such a sexy sneak when he finally made a move on Charlotte.

I could marry the guy for his brilliance and dedication in his chosen craft as a brain surgeon. A changed man, humble in accepting and determined in amending his past mistakes. And amidst all that responsibility, still loving the shit out of Charlotte.

Just like Winnie, I wanted Charlotte Hollis out of the picture and keep this dream boat of a doctor to myself, the dilemma is I also liked the girl. Charlotte’s all sunshine and vibrancy, and just what Nick needed in his monotonous life. She’s also hard working but knows how to cap off each day with fun. I loved that she’s loyal to her profession and dreams big for herself.

My attachment to Nick and Charlotte was not only because of their effortless chemistry and amusing banters but more because of their emotional connection. And as a reader I felt genuine love between these two even if the development was a bit fast.

I didn’t expect to get so affected by the turn of events even though I already had hunch on how things will play out. I admired how Nick and Charlotte handled these difficult circumstances with maturity, albeit being extremely heart broken. They acted truthful to the painful reality that some things needed time and thinking.

Dr. Neuro(tic) was beautifully tied up that gets me all emotional and sappy just thinking about how Max Monroe gave every character their happy ending. I even saw more closure for Winnie Winslow in this story. Bless this woman’s heart! I guess the only missing piece is Remy’s own HEA.

I eagerly and highly recommend Dr. Neuro(tic) to those looking for that seamless mix of steam and heart. You will fall for its unforgettable and sweet moments; its light take on unconventional relations with treasures of moving forward and forgiveness. This story tells us that life is a big fat surprise and even the wise can fall when faced with true love. Max Monroe created another gold and I can’t wait to embrace more from this unstoppable duo!

Great last book to round off this series!

I enjoyed reading about Dr Neuro—Nick aka Winnie Winslow’s ex and baby daddy—and Charlotte! Loved that Nick despite being a smarty pants brain surgeon and all, is truly terrible at trivia and also kinda oblivious to everything else.

Really liked Charlotte and how her vibrant optimism takes no prisoners and simply sweeps him off his feet. Their chemistry and love felt sweet, balanced and fun. But where this story really shone was the twist. Wow, I did not see that one coming and it was just what this romance needed to really shake things up.

Overall, another lighthearted, super enjoyable romance from Max Monroe. My favourite of the series and a perfect segue to the next!

I think this one was much better than Dr. ER. There were some key differences that made this book into an entirely different thing. I liked the fact there were differences, but some things still tied in from Dr. OB, and Dr. ER. You should read these one right after the other because if you don't, you might forget these previous things.

These characters might be my favorite. The chemistry between Nick and Charlotte really takes off in this book. The chemistry in Dr. OB was great, but I think this couple takes the cake.

I liked a lot about this book, but I feel like Max Monroe had the same problem in all three. The interest was lost after halfway through. Each book was great, then hit a wall.

I think if you are a steamy romance lover, these books would be fantastic. I am a lover of steamy romances, and I would recommend this series!

Finally we've got DR. NEUROtic's story, I knew I'd like Nick Raines... le freaking sigh.
Review to come.

review-blog

I was waiting for Nick Raines' story. What a way to introduce properly, as a single dad and neurosurgeon, he was dragged by two of his coworkers for a reality show about their work. If you’ve read the first books, you know that anything goes the way it should be.

For the ones who have read Max Monroe’s book, you’ve heard about him and the choices he made. I had to admit that I didn’t have a great memory of him. After reading it, well, I couldn’t not appreciate this character. Dedicated to his precious daughter and his work, he haven’t planned to meet the feisty and colorful Charlotte, who literally turned his world upside down.

As usual you have the authors’ touch with the humor and hilarious situations, the mix of sweetness and hotness. I was really surprised by Nick’s character. Obviously not mature when he became a father, having bad decisions and might be seen as a selfish man, he wasn’t. I had a great time to see him redeem and acting like a man, trying his best to make his daughter happy, be the father she deserves.

In between, love got in the way. Once he set his eyes on Charlotte, all bets are off. I enjoyed his interactions with her, her craziness and firecracker side matching so well with his serious and very safe side. They made a great pair, I had fun with their story, even if it was less wild than the others, but nonetheless equally fun and diverting. It was a great addition to the series and I was really glad to read more about Nick and see how he learned from his mistakes. His battle: head against heart was definitely worth it.

Well I certainly don't need my head examined to know that I would fall for Dr. Nick Raines aka Dr. Neuro but if he is the one that is going to be doing the examination then I might bang my head against something.

Nick has appeared in the Billionaire Series and I will say that in those books I wasn't a fan of him. However in this book he has completely redeemed himself and then some.

Nick and Charlotte are so very cute together, the way they meet and then their first "what I will call social interaction with each other" is so cute and quirky.

Charlotte is a force and I loved her character. She's confident, super funny and I found myself thinking I could totally be friends with her in real life.

Max Monroe usually is known for tons of laughs from their books and while this book did have some giggle out loud moments I found it to be a bit more serious. Just goes to show that Max Monroe can essentially write anything and I will fall in love with it.

Another great read from MM.

I loved the first three quarters of this book! The last quarter kinda fell a bit short for me, maybe a bit rushed. With that said, I still think it's my favorite in the series.

Nick, aka Dr. NEUROtic, was a guy you may have met back in "Scoring The Billionaire/Scoring Her," in the Billionaire Bad Boy series. He was Winnie Winslow's, baby daddy. One that seemed to have chosen career opportunities over his girlfriend, and baby daughter.

This story tells things from Nick's perspective, a few years later. Talk about regret, Nick has miles of it. He becomes a permanent fixture in his daughter, Lexi's life, and pretty much lives for his time with her. These days, his career comes second. Enter, Charlotte Hollis.

Charlotte, is a hoot! Love her personality and her sense of humor. Nick and her have instant chemistry and complement each other in spades. Lexi, in their mix, makes for an extra cute addition, to this story.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

Hot damn. I loved this book. I’ve enjoyed all of the St Lukes Docuseries novels so far, but I think I have to say that this was my fave. Something about Nick and Charlotte had me falling for the story instantly.

I absolutely devoured this book and I’m not even sure if I can pick one reason why. Everything about it just made me fly through it and have to know what would happen.

I particularly loved Charlottes outgoing side, and really liked Winnie and Lexi too. I haven’t actually ready the whole ‘Billionaire’ series, so I haven’t read Winnie’s book yet, but I sure am keen to after reading this one.

There were challenges in the storyline of the book, but mostly I felt like they were dealt with in a really good manner. Also, let me just say, Doreen and Harry 🙂

Definitely recommend this one, love love loved it.

A battle between Head versus Heart...

Well... read and find out while Dr. Nick, Charlotte, Lexi, Winnie and others take you on a sweet yet so amusing journey between the struggle of Head versus Heart... and witness which wins! 5 Heart Loving Stars about protecting the ones you hold dear to your heart.

3.5 Stars / 2 Steam Fans

I enjoyed the story but I found it to be jumbled and somewhat scatter brained in the delivery for the majority of the story. I didn't feel connected to either Charlotte or Nick to fully invest in the story.

This book was read for romanceopolyathon - red on the cover & abs on the cover.

This specific video review will be included in the April 2019 wrap-up.

Muito rápido e gostava de ter visto mais momentos com a Lexi. Contudo, gostei as noites de trivia.

Anytime I’m having a bad day I just need to pick up something from Max Monroe to bring a smile to my face! Just reading the dedication on this book made me giggle!! Max Monroe just brings a smile to my face and they just make the day better!! Their books bring the comic relief we sometimes need and I love them for it! The St Luke’s Docuseries has been a great series to just make you laugh! The whole series was a huge 5 star read for me and Dr Neuro was no exception. Each doctor in the series brings a something different to the table and each one was unique. I highly recommend each book in the series!!

Charlotte has just returned to New York permanently for work and she couldn’t be happier to be back. Born and raised she’s spent some time away from the Big Apple and now she’s back recruiting a top brain surgeon to relocate to Los Angeles. Little does she know this top surgeon has no plans on moving.

You can say Dr Nick is a work-o-holic. He works 60 to 70 hour work weeks and has no time for a social calendar. He’s focus is his job and his daughter but when Charlotte comes into life and basically highjacks his free time there is something quirky about her that he cannot say no to. Their relationship goes from professional to something more in just a couple dates. They chemistry is amazing and even though Charlotte was able to recruit him for the position, she gets something more in return.

But fate has a way of messing with you. Just when Nick and Charlotte seem to be on the road to happily ever after their pasts collide and now Nick is make a tough decision. He knows where his priorities lie and won’t sacrifice that for his happiness. What was once a happy relationship has both of them miserable as can be. Can the two work things out and how will The Doctor Is In help them see the light? You will need to read to find out!! This was another stellar 5 star read from Max Monroe!!

The heart wants what the heart wants.

Dr. NEURO was deeper and more serious than the previous books in the series yet still has the humor we have come to expect from a Max Monroe rom com. I'll be honest, when I first met Nick Raines in the Billionaire Bad Boys series he was not my favorite person. I loved Winnie ( Scoring the Billionaire ) and when I found out that Nick, the man who left her as a single mom to follow his dreams, was the hero of Dr. NEURO, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to forgive his past actions. However, this book takes place years later and Nick is firmly in his daughter, Lexi's life. He is doing everything he can to deserve her forgiveness and make things right, and I was sucked right into the story despite my initial reservations.

Charlotte is a headhunter working for Chase Murray International. She scouts only the best and she has her eyes set on Dr. Nick Raines, head of Neurology at St. Luke’s Hospital. She's thinks charming him into taking a job at a new, state-of-the-art hospital in L.A. will be easy but she doesn't know Dr. Neuro.

This story was emotional, entertaining, sweet, sexy, and addictive. I read it in one sitting and didn't want it to end. Written in dual-POVs we get both sides of the story and I loved it.

Nick is so much more than his past. He royally screwed up and is still making up for the decision he made years before and I felt his regret and guilt. My heart hurt for the years he lost with his daughter because of his actions and I love that he recognizes his faults and refuses to jeopardize his time with Lexi ever again. Did Nick fully redeem himself? I'm not entirely sure you can ever make up for being absent in your child's life but Nick has come pretty darn close to becoming the father he could have been from the start. I love that he puts Lexi first and she is his priority. He knows he was wrong and though he can't change his past, he has learned from it. He is a better man now and a dedicated, swoon worthy father with the sweetest side that will give you the warm fuzzies inside. He was redeemable in my eyes and I adored him.

Charlotte was awesome. Fresh, funny, and feisty, she was instantly likable. She came into Nick's life like a hurricane and turned everything upside down. I loved that she didn't judge him and she understood how much Lexi meant to him. She was exactly what Nick needed to pull him from his loneliness and spice up his life.
When I didn't have Lexi, I had the hospital. That was how it worked.
I was used to it.
But the taste of Charlotte's temptation was treacherously sweet.

The moment they met I knew that Nick and Charlotte were meant to be. They have incredible chemistry, enjoy epic banter, and are insanely hot together. They fell into a relationship effortlessly and honestly; however, it was almost too easy and I found myself waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it did my heart sunk. The twist thrown into this story was jaw dropping and I was crushed. I felt the emotion Nick and Charlotte experienced right along with them. I thought they handled the situation as best they could even if it was heart breaking and felt so unfair. I did like the way everything worked out and I had a huge grin on my face when the last page was turned. I loved the epilogues and in the end, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Like always, the secondary characters are wonderful, especially Lexi. She is such a treat and I loved everything about her. Winnie and Wes are back as well as some new characters that make for many memorable moments. Overall, it's a fantastic ending to an awesome series.
"I always thought it was a battle- head versus heart..."
"But it's not. Life's about both. You use your head to protect the ones in your heart. Nothing else matters."

A wonderful read and final book for the St. Luke’s hunky Doctor Docuseries. I was curious about Nick. His few appearances in the previous books made him appear aloof and mysterious, only because he was so private about his life.

I thought he and Charlotte were an adorable couple. She’s was fun and relaxed and added fun to his life. He has spent years of his life so focused on his career and now rebuilding bridges with people he nearly sacrificed for that career, Charlotte’s presence helped him let loose and enjoy the good he has in his life- to stop taking everything so seriously. It was a quick courtship because they just got along so well. They were a truly perfect match.

I had hoped to see more of how the Docuseries affected his life; like it did with Will and Sam. Also, I didn’t get to laugh out loud as much as I did with the previous books...but the story was enjoyable all the same. The more and more I read from Max Monroe, the bigger fan I become.

FAVORITE QUOTES:
She tasted even sweeter than the milk shake and whipped cream combined, a dessert so loaded with sugar it should be illegal.

“I’m all for foreplay, but I’m f*cking primed and ready, and you seem hesitant to stick your d*ck in me.”

I unbuttoned my pants, pulled down the zipper, yanked an emergency condom out of my wallet—because getting inside of Charlotte was an emergency if I’d ever heard of one—rolled it on, and sank slowly inside her.

Mysterious and teasing, her eyes were unlike any I’d ever encountered. I didn’t understand how they could feel so dark but hold all the light in the world at the same time.

I’m not really sure how to start this review. I read Dr. OB, then Dr. ER, now that I’ve read Dr. Neuro, St. Luke’s Docuseries #3, I want more. But this is the final book in the series, so I guess I’m SOL. The good thing is that Max Monroe has a lot of other books I can read. I’ll get right on that, but first let me tell you about the goodness that is Nick Raines and Charlotte Hollis.

Since I didn’t read Scoring the Billionaire, Dr. Nick Raines was a new to me character. At first, I was confused as to why Max Monroe would take this guy who left his pregnant girlfriend behind and try to make him a character we could love. Not only did they try, they succeeded!

Dr. Nick Raines, Head of Neurology at St. Lukes, is a good guy trying his best. Trying to be a good dad to his daughter, trying to be a good doctor, and trying to do his part for the hospital by having a film crew follow him around as part of the docuseries.

Charlotte Hollis is back in the place she calls home, NYC. As a headhunter that meets with Nick to try and get him for another hospital, she fails. But what she does get is so much better. She gets the guy.

Both Nick and Char have histories. Only they didn’t know that their past would end up costing them their future. My heart broke for the misery these two suffered. Through the kindness and grace of others, Nick and Char found their way back to one another.

There are so many elements to this book to love – trivia, texting, and let’s not forget Lexi, she gave me so many laughs!

I have some books to catch up on from this duo and I look forward to doing that as well as whatever they bring in the future.
