Dr. Albert Snowden and his niece, Emily, are back on Earth after six months of traveling through space, time, and beyond with Evaran, the mysterious stranger who rescued them from an alien abduction. They were expecting to get some peace and quiet after the hectic nature of some of their previous adventures. However, things get complicated when Evaran’s ship, the Torvatta, is stolen.
To make matters worse, Dr. Snowden has to deal with the near-death experience from a recent event. He and Emily must also adjust to the new side effects of their nanobots, which were enhanced prior to going back to Earth. As they look for the Torvatta, they must also deal with a rogue faction of the Helians, the group that represents Earth from a galactic perspective.
Evaran will call upon old and new friends within the nonhuman world to deal with the defected Helian sect. What they find drags Evaran and his new allies deeper into a global event that has timeline implications.
I have been dreaming about fictional worlds since I was a kid. I devoured anything related to fantasy and science fiction. I developed a setting over the last twenty years and struggled to find a medium I could express it in. Several years ago, I discovered I enjoyed writing. It is a passion of mine now, and exploring my setting with it has been an awesome journey.
I work in the information technology field and have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in it. It has helped me to shape some of the concepts I write about. I also enjoy keeping up on futurology and science in general.
I live in central Ohio and enjoy walking, reading, gaming, learning, listening to music, and trying to keep up on my never-ending list of TV shows and movies to watch. If you want to contact me, you can do so on my website at
The Shadow Connection by Adair Hart continues the great series of Dr Snowden and his fellow earth companions. After their exciting travels through time, with fighting and saving worlds, and the Earth, and so much more, they decide to take a break on Earth for six months. But somehow, Dr Snowden's spaceship is stolen! This is again a fun adventure that is not what you would expect. Always twisting and turning and one step ahead. It's fun, exciting, and I enjoy these characters and feel I know them like my family now. I have been with them since book one! Great series, you have to get into these books... fun, exciting, humorous, and appealing. I even got the first few in audible so my sister can hear them since she is unable to see well. I love them that much!

Summary:
Received for an honest review.
Evaran, Dr. Snowden and Emily get embroiled into another adventure as they are joined by Jake who met up with Evaran in the prequel to this series. Evaran and compny return to Earth for some well deserved R & R, but things didn't quite work out as they planned. Dr. Snowden starts having frightening dreams where his shipmates are being tortured as he is threatened by some unseen force. At the end of each dream he sees Levaran who gives him a cryptic message about accepting what he is leaving the reader to wonder what is in store for him and Emily. If that isn't enough, the Earth under assault by a force that is determined to take absolute control and Evaran, Dr Snowden, Emily and those who agree to help are all that stand in their way.
I really enjoyed having Jake rejoin the series leaving this reader to hope that his part in the story has just begun. Adding gods form the past into Evaran's fighting force added an incredible twist to the plot. There is so much left in store and I for one can't wait for the next book in The Evaran Chronicles.
Much like the previous entries in the Evaran Chronicles, this novel was quite enjoyable though very flawed. A lot of its strengths, such as the expansive universe, are also its weaknesses. Like previous entries, it's also bogged down by an excessive use of decent but kinda repetitive action scenes and weak one-dimensional villains.
Its strengths do include good non-villainous characters, such as the protagonists and supportive cast. Though there're a lot of those, which makes it difficult to relate to each one. When in the last quarter of the book a whole bunch of new characters were introduced it was a little much.
The large and multi-layered universe is also both a plus and a flaw. There's a lot of different aspects to draw on for storytelling, such as alternate timelines, parallel universe, extradimensional entities, vampires, shapeshifters, gods, and more. But they often don't mesh well together and very often overshadow one another. The problem gets even worse when other spin-off series are included. It took me a while to realize that one of the characters mentioned frequently in the novel isn't actually from the main series, but the protagonist of a different series, and thus his story wouldn't be resolved in this novel.
But overall, still a very enjoyable read. I will continue reading the rest of the series.
This is part of a series that I am loving. In this book, Evaran's Torvata (time and space traveling ship) is stolen by a non-human earth resident who fancies himself as a god. This god's ambition is to control all non-human earth residents. Evaran forms an alliance of the various non-human factions and defeats the self-proclaimed god.
Evaran's traveling companions, Dr. Snowden and Snowden's niece Emily, are prominent in this book. Their bodies continue to evolve in positive ways due to the cosmic energy infused nanobots that they harbor in their bodies. The book is peppered with the discovery of the Snowden's new capabilities.
This series, about the mysterious and ever confident Evaran, is an entertaining sci-fi that leaves you feeling satisfied at having had a good read.
If I was a poet I could really find the words that this series deserves, but I’m not so all I’ll say is that Adair Hart have written a beautiful series, together with Michael Pauley narrating it a masterpiece was born ! Truly a copy/paste Of each review from all the books of this series would have done just fine because they are all great but that is taking the easy way so here I am writing again how much I love and appreciate this series, ITS JUST EXCELLENT !!!
I do full heartedly recommend this series for all.
Even so that I got this audiobook for free, I believe that I totally reviewed it honestly with all my heart.
Review of: The Shadow Connection; Book 6 of the Evaran Chronicles
Well another exciting Evaran Chronicles book read. I seem addicted to this series. Adair Hart has a winning series that I hope others discover how great a writer he is. I might be a little partial, being from the Buckeye myself. Adair, I hope all of your future writing is this good, your becoming my favorite author. Thanks A Lot!
