A Contemporary, Sexy Reverse Little Mermaid Novel.
Shelley grew up dreaming of mystical creatures who lived beneath the sea. Her aunt insisted on the existence of men with fishtails. But as an adult, Shelley tries to forget such nonsense, to avoid becoming another loony in a long line of perceived psychotic women. So, Shelley will choose not to believe in everything she’s been taught about underwater people, destiny, and cosmic connection because it’s just plain crazy. To believe that men could come with gills and fishtails is simply absurd. Until of course, Shelley is saved by one such man, a seaman, who will do everything he can to make her love him like crazy.
Deep and Wet: This book is intended for mature audiences.
This was a great book! It was very creative and I really enjoyed how the book as well as the characters developed. Mermen sounds awesome! The storyline was creative and very well written. Henry a.k.a. Blue is a real go-getter! I feel for all the turmoils and drama he had to go through to get to where he ends up. Shelley is as unique as you can get and they make a great pair. I am extremely happy that he didn't lose her so quickly after finding her. I am very excited to see what happens in the following books!

I enjoyed this book well enough. It was rather rushed and the ending could have been better in my opinion. For a minute there I thought it was ending with a cliffhanger, which I wouldn't really have cared about. Those don't bother me. But it didn't really end in a cliffhanger despite the fact that I felt like there was something not fully resolved. Maybe even more than one thing.
I think it's possible that some things might be explained in the next book even though the storyline clearly revolves around different main characters. But I don't think we've seen the last of Henry (aka Blue) and Shelley.
Well, this was a decent read, I enjoyed it enough to finish it at least. I did feel that it needed something more. Some things didn't make sense, some things were pushing the boundaries of believable story writing (the kind where you don't question stuff in the story) & just someone's imagination going wild, some things totally pulled me out of the story making it less enjoyable. I get the fairy tale correlation, but there are just bits & pieces of it to link it to the Little Mermaid. I felt like with a bit more work from the author, this could have been a much higher star rating for me. I don't believe I will continue with the series.
Just finished reading and all I can say is Wow what a story. This book kept my interest from the first to last page. Shelly just keeps getting herself into trouble and ( Blue ) or Henry is always there to save her. I want the next book in this series. This Author just draws you into her book and it seems like you are there watching everything happen, a well-written story. Do I recommend this book the answer is a definite YES! Great reimagining of the little mermaid. Shelley lost her parents as a young child and was raised by her eccentric aunt, a self proclaimed psychic. A trip up the mountain overlooking the bay, to scatter her aunts ashes, leads Shelley to a world she never believe in. Old gods, mermen, curses, and the truth behind her parents death. Shelley holds the key, to set a cursed man free and to true love. A fun, fast paced and steamy romantic fairy tale. Loved Shelley and Blue/Henry's story. Looking forward to Kimiko's.
30% in: I'm disgusted by the sluttyness. Seriously. The amount of times this girl uses the word slut, is just abhorrent.
There's nothing wrong with embracing ones sexuality, but celebrating slutty behavior is just gross. Sorry, not sorry.
32% In: Lets quote this bitch: "Not to mention, her chin goes up too high when she speaks, like she's some kind of goddess amount her pillar of books, but I know what she really is - a nerd." OMG die in a fire you disgusting hoe bag. I'm done with this piece of shit book. Screw it. Don't waste your damn time on this crap.
Typos, slut-shaming, insta- unexplained love, childish love interest, boring sex scenes, weird anatomy. It's all too much.
I mean, the love interest refers to his penis as "Man Thomas" and calls a toilet "a whirlpool for the biggies that come out of my arse." Yeah, he's from the 1700s, but calling poop biggies is never acceptable.
Also, there is the one POC (the Asian roommate plays no role in this book) who plays the sea witch. Of course she was a slave and is still a slave to the sea in "death."
it started so good then the heroine started talking about how she never defended her asian friend to her racist aunt, then she slut shames this other female character while said female character is a caricature of stereotypical "sluts" PLUS the heroine has struck the hero TWICE in this book? because she's pissed? how the book and the author glossed over this obvious abusive actions to the guy and how absolutely hateful the heroine is to the hero is repulsive. i wish i didnt read this shit. it's trash af belongs in the garbage eughhhh ew
She doesn't believe in mermen or anything like that. Her aunt tried to get her to believe but she wouldn't until one saved her. A fairytale but a good one. I loved this book. It was exciting, fun, suspenseful, mysterious and so much more. A very enjoyable read to curl up with. It makes you want to meet a merman. A very hot one. I highly recommend it. This story is really one a kind. I fell in love with characters and the story. The author really makes you feel involved with the legend that it makes it hard to put the book down. You really think you know what's going occur but the twists keep you guessing. I'm an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock and all opinion and feelings are my own. Based on content this book is for an mature audience. I'm giving this book 4 hearts.
I really like the idea of a merman in Supernatural romance because it's not as on rye you see very often. Or sub-genre rather? Anyway the author is very descriptive and her story was pretty good and I enjoyed the read. I would like to know if there's a sequel because I would read it!
Great book and I bought the next one in the series. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. I dont want to give away any major information about the book, but you will get caught up on how the female character ends up meeting the male chacter.

This was such a great read, I really enjoyed the Merman idea and how Blue became who he was. The characters were great especially with how there were some you didn't know what their motive was. Some good twists and mystery kept you reading and look forward to the next book in the series.

Well, well, well... This is a heck of a twist on a classic and I totally LOVE IT! Well written, developed, and thoroughly enjoyable. Steamy scenes top off this fabulous novel and I honestly couldn't ask for more! Well... Except book 2!
This is definitely a fun and intriguing story. Great background information interspersed throughout, with well developed characters and a hard fought romance. Definitely enjoyed it!
I really liked this retelling of TLM. The characters were likable, the backstory interesting and believable, and the way they came together was interesting. A swift and easy read with some sexy moments and a lot of merman fun!
Phenomenal story, and a unique tale for the merman's creation! I couldn't put it down and read it in less than a day! I will definitely be reading the others! Sexy!!!
