“There were many Native Americans that had been blessed by the Great Spirit, the Great Manitou, or whatever the particular tribe called their Supreme Being. As with all Native Americans, they had a spirit to guide them in their life’s journeys, to aid them in the path they should take, but the Great Spirit decreed one group from each tribe would be able to shift into the animal that guided each particular person. They alone would not only embody the wisdom and soul of their guide, but also embody each of their special attributing aspects. They would have the magic bestowed upon them to alter their human states into the creature that would lead them throughout their lives, as well as be gifted with additional powers, which varied per the individual. These powers were as varied as the animals that guided them.”

Shifter’s Pride is the second book in the Spirit Walker Thriller series by Laura Hawks. This is a paranormal murder mystery, with suspense, drama, action, adventure, romance, danger, a stalker, supernatural elements, shifters, and some Native American culture and history. As with the other books in this series, this can be read as a standalone. This story is quite intriguing, with several threads playing out through it. The characters are well developed and interesting. I loved how there was more to them and the story than is initially apparent. Ms. Hawks has a confident, creative, descriptive and inviting style- which brings her stories to life in a very believable way. I really love the American Indian history and cultural details she includes in her stories- it makes the book even more fascinating.
The storyline moves between the past and present- visiting the 1800’s, World War II, then back to the present, again.
I wonder what Ms. Hawks has in store for us next?

Thank you, Ms. Hawks!

Shifter's Pride (Spirit Walker's Saga Thrillers Book 2)
By: Laura Hawks
5 out of 5 stars

The story Shifter's Pride (Spirit Walker's Saga Thrillers Book 2) by Laura Hawks is a paranormal romance book. It is a story that draws you in from the very beginning and in no time I found myself lost in the book. This is a story that is both thrilling and romantic. I love the attention to detail that is shown. It felt like I was with the characters as they try to find the killer who is leaving gruesome crime scenes behind. I loved the characters of Detective Shaw, Detective Shade, and Feather Woods. The detectives are both Spirit Walkers. They put their all into the current investigation and are determined that they will catch whoever is committing the murders. Feather Woods is a strong, beautiful woman. She is also a fighter when she needs to be. She finds herself in the middle of an investigation that has the detectives wondering how to classify her. As the investigation intensifies how much danger will both detectives and Feather find themselves in? Will they catch the killer before he strikes again? Is Detective Shade the next victim? Read this book to find out. This story at times had me on the edge of my seat and wondering what was going to happen next. It is also a story that includes romance and has some steamy scenes as well. You are also introduced to other characters in the book and I enjoyed reading both about their part in the story and how they interact with the two detectives and Feather. I found the book to be well-written and enjoyed that I could feel the emotions that the characters were going through. This is the second book in a series and one that I would recommend reading.

This is a supernatural shifter thriller with some great history. This is book two in the saga but can be read as a standalone. I did not read the first but am incredibly intrigued to do so. At the very beginning we get some of the gruesome. There has been a murder and it was one of Feather’s best friends. Then another murder and it seems to be linked with Feather again. The detectives that interview her are shifters as well and know more of the history of Feather along with her brother, Raine. Ren, the lead detective, knows Feather from the 1800’s and soon Feather is reminded of who he is. Ren instantly wants to help Feather but his partner, Apple Shade, thinks Feather is the reason for the murders. This story goes back and forth between the 1800’s, WW2 and the present. There have been multiple murders over the past years that fit the same as these current murders. Now they are delving deep into the past to try and find the serial killer. While they are all investigating they find that they are all in danger. While they are leaning on each other some major feeling develop and then we get some sweet sexy time (wags eyebrows). But the way that this entire story unfolds, along with the back and forth from past and present, really keeps you on your toes. There are many twists and turns but at the risk of giving spoilers I am recommending this to everyone. It is very interesting and intriguing. This is a first for me from Laura Hawks but won’t be the last!

Shifter's Pride (Spirit Walker's Saga Thrillers Book 2) by Laura Hawks was a thrilling, entertaining read that had me hooked from start to finish.

Not my first read by this author, or this series, so I knew I was in for a multi layer exciting read. These books can be read as stand-a-lone's so no worries about reading out of order. Like the other book I have read, this one is just was good and just as mysterious.

I am falling hard for this series. I've always loved the thought of time travel, and I love crime books, so mix them together, and it's one hell of a treat for me. The writing was smooth, easy to read, the tone matched the plot and the detail, wow, it matched the time period, and you cal tell a lot of research went to making this as authentic as possible, considering it jumps from present, WWII and 1800's.

The only thing that I would say that made for not so easy reading was the format, I found it congested, and the font for me was a little small. I feel like there should have been more paragraphs then there was.

Overall I loved the MC's, they made this story something special and really added a complex layer to this across time murder mystery. There were twist turns, and heart pounding situations. This book kept me on my toes and I can't wait to read more in this series.

I give this book my hight recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

A great read about mystery. America is inhabited by Spirit Walkers, people with special abilities. When Spirit Walker Feather Woods finds a dead body, she believes it is cruel fate that it is a close friend. But as the investigation escalates, the police discover she is the only link to the death. As events escalate and a cold hearted killer stalks the people she loves, will their abilities help to find the truth and catch the killer before it is too late?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn't put down. fast paced action and high stakes make for a captivating read. Well developed characters like Raine as a kind protective brother or Feathers compassionate nature but still standing up for herself. The use of flashbacks to the past worked well and didn't disrupt from the narrative of the present.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the sense of nature with the animals and the moon and also the landscape of the past in a sense of wild beauty.
I loved the mix of fantasy with the shifting and also the realism of police and crime which was combined beautifully for a great read. The use of horror and gore was written to perfection in an eerie beauty and grabbed the readers attention. Overall, a brilliant read and I would give it five stars.

Shifter’s Pride is the second book in the Spirit Walkers Saga Thrillers series. It can be read as a standalone story and does not end in a cliffhanger. I’ve got to say that this is a case of don’t judge a book by its cover. When I first saw this book, it screamed “typical romance novel.” It most definitely is not. I really enjoyed the way this book was written.

At first the writing style took a little bit to get used to, but once I got in the flow of it, it kept me hooked in. The author has written the shifters in the book differently than the typical book you would read so it makes this story a bit more unique. There were times I got a little irritated with Feather’s character. Sometimes she seems too helpless for someone who has lived for such a long time. On the other hand, I loved the Apple character and her spunky, independent nature. The villain character in this book was somewhat unusual and was very well written. I also liked the way the author worked in various historical references.

Overall, compelling story-telling and worth the read!

I give Shifter's Pride (Spirit Walker's Saga Thrillers Book 2) by Laura Hawks, 5 stars.

Detectives Shaw and Shade are called out to yet another horrific murder. The more they look into it, the more they realize that these murders have been happening for decades. And they all seem to revolve around one woman, Feather Woods. Will they be able to catch the killer in time? And what about the instant attraction Dectective Shaw feels for Feather?

This book is unlike anything I have read before. I was pleasantly surprised at just how good this story was. The characters were very engaging and real and the story had so much going on, I could not put the book down. There are romance angles for both detectives, along with trying to solve the puzzle of just who is responsible for these murders and how is Feather involved. You will be entertained and pulled right into this book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone you likes a could thriller, romance, or supernatural book.

Shifter's Pride by Laura Hawks

An easy and exciting read filled with magic, shifters, and romance this novel is an easy 5 star book. Feather and her brother Raine have looked after each other for years. When several of their friends show up dead, detectives Shade and Shaw discover a connection to Feather's past. Can the murder be stopped before any more death occurs?

I loved the characters in this novel. They were unique and gifted. They also had interesting names. I really enjoyed the romance in this novel as well. There are some pretty gruesome scenes and several sex scenes in this novel so if readers are deterred by that this book isn’t for you. If it doesn’t bother you, then readers will absolutely love this novel! It can also be read as a standalone book. I have yet to read the first one and can’t wait to do so now.

I am a big cover art person. I don’t necessarily let it determine whether I will or won’t read a book, but I sometimes won’t even pick up a book to read the synopsis if the cover looks ‘boring’ or ‘unusual’ to me. I would have to say this book falls in that category. I am not a huge fan of the shifter genera of novels in general. I was drawn into this with the thriller and the historical timelines that were depicted. My major suggestion would be to redo the cover art. It would really draw in a whole new crowd of people who are the type that buy based solely off of the cover art. My other would be that this books flow was choppy. It had me at several moments questioning where I was and what was happening. With these things noted the novel had great solid backbones and the plot was strong. I fell in love with the characters and the ideas scene building.

Shifters Pride by Laura Hawks is the second book in her Spirit Walkers Saga Thrillers. These books can be read as stand-alone’s.
Two detectives are on the trail of a serial killer. Determined to track him down they aim to put a stop to the killings. But this person isn’t just a normal killer - and Shaw and Shade aren’t your normal detectives.
As spirit walkers they know there is more to this story than initially meets the eye. But can they end the terror? And is their one lead he victim? Or involved?

What I liked most about this book is that, for me, it felt completely different from the first of the series. Although I can see the similarities in the writing style and the overall feel of the book the story and the characters were not like that of the first. It gave this book a fresh feel and really helped me to become immersed in the book. A good read and I can’t wait for the next.

Shifter’s Pride by Laura Hawks
Four Stars

Shifter’s Pride is the second book in the Spirit Walker’s Saga by Laura Hawks. This shifter book had me hooked right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until the last page. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I can’t think of a reason why you wouldn’t want to read the first book in the series. I am in wonder at how this story progresses and the characters evolution. I like how the story bounced back and forth from the past to the present. I love how there are two romances wrapped together in one book. I highly rethink book and series. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Hawks has instore for us with the next installment of this great series.

Shifter’s Pride by Laura Hawks is the second book in the Spirit Walker’s Saga. It is a shifter, supernatural, paranormal thriller, with some steamy romance. Laura has set the scene over many many years from the 1800’s to current. The story goes back and forth through the years, and Laura has included some great history from those times. Multiple murders from the past seem to fit recent murders and one person seems to be linked to them all, but who is the serial killer and why are they targeting people know to one person? Will they be able to keep those they love safe whilst trying to catch a killer? It is an intriguing and engaging story that keeps you on your toes and the many twists and turns you don’t see coming.
Prepared to be thrilled!

This thriller book Shifter’s Pride by Laura Hawks is an amazing story. This is a paranormal romance book with a mystery inside. Hawks has a vivid imagination which she demonstrates in her scenery and characters. This book had me at the overview and I could not put it down until the end. I love the idea of a spirit walker that can help in situations that stump others about characteristics (both good and bad) that no one else would think of. I love the time line shifts to show patterns. Wait to see what is store for Detective Shaw, Detective Shade, and Feather Woods, you will not be disappointed.

I always love a good shifter book and I fell in love with this one. I don't read them often (why, I don't know) but this scratched that itch.

I loved how this book suck you in from the beginning and didn't let up. It was romantic but also gave you the thrills and chills of excitement and danger. I completely fell for the world that Laura Hawks built that mixed in history as well. I loved all the character and the fact that they weren't one dimensional. I love pealing back those layer!

The writing and storyline were flawless and kept me on edge the whole time! I'm dying to get my hands on more!

Shifter's Pride by Laura Hawks
Stars:4

I love that this story has both romance and mystery. We get to read about two romantic love stories and about a sibling love story. I say a sibling love story, because a good deal of the book focuses on the relationship between s siblings, Feature and Raine. The author uses a lot of flashback scenes to help us understand our characters more and the how the past influences events in the present day. My favorite character is definitely Raine. He is such a good brother who has always tried to take care of his sister.

This book was a fun book to read! I loved the characters and figuring out the mystery right along with them.

Feather Woods is such a pretty name. I think this story was very unique. I liked how the author went into detail about the characters. You are given a lot of background. You get introduced to a lot of characters and learn about them. At first it seems like too much information. But as the story progressed it was better. The author wrote this story very well. Feather was a very strong character I'm not sure if I would’ve handled it the same as she did.

Shifters Pride (Spirit Walkers Saga Thrillers Book 2)
By Laura Hawks
Rated 5 stars

I enjoyed the heck out of this story! The writing is so smooth. Even though I am not a fan of flash backs this story had me intrigued. I was involved in Raine and Feathers life before I knew it. The characters all are full of life. They all have amazing stories to tell. Each one is different but they all end up at the same place and time.

I laughed and chuckled at the two men ( Raine and Ren) they conspired together and shared what the women ( Feather and Apple)like to help the other with the woman of their dreams. The camaraderie the men shared was nice. They each feel protective of a female and want to make sure the other is “treating her right”. There was a lot of interaction between the men and ladies. I enjoyed it all.

On a side note I want to mention how amazing the names of these characters were. All so different from normal. I loved it when Raine was thinking all the ways Apple worked into sayings. Renegade Shaw was a favorite name of mine. Although Apple Shade was great too. Feather I haven’t heard before but I have Raine...just usually not on a guy.

This is my second book by this author. She has me interested enough to keep reading. I enjoyed both of these books and look forward to more.
