My absolute favorite of this series so far! I truly loved Isabelle! She was juggling a lot at work, and was also a single mom. No one knew who the father of her child was-but it didn't matter. The Delucas care for their own in a way that's so loyal you can't stop reading about this family. Isabelle is met with the shock of her life when she sees the man who changed her life so many years ago. As her past and present collide, adding mixtures of work and family, this book happened to be everything you want in a book and more. In true Amy Reece fashion, the action that took place in his book came across very well researched and all and all very intriguing. With two amazing main characters, and well proven amazing supporting characters, this is an absolute must read! - By Victoria

I have been looking forward to Izzy and Janey's story for a while now, the mystery behind Janey's father was driving me crazy, I kept coming up with different scenarios and all of them were wrong, well one came close. I must admit when Mac was first introduced into the book, I grew angry at Izzy because I thought she purposely kept his daughter away from him and he was such an awesome guy. After continuing on with the story I quickly realized my error in judgment and felt quite bad for both Izzy and Mac. Their circumstances were a inconvenient situation but something that does happen quite often.

After everything comes out, the story moves fairly quickly with a bit of mystery involved but most of the story revolves around Izzy, Mac and little Janey. It was so sweet seeing them come together as a family. The only hiccup in this lovely picture were the DeLuca boys. They took an instant dislike to Mac, not sure why. It wasn't his fault he wasn't in Janey's life those first four years. He was a decorated war hero, had a great career with Homeland Security, treated Janey and Izzy like gold but her brothers were pricks to him, judging him for what happened between him and Izzy when in reality it was none of their business. They were just jealous because he became the number one man in Janey's life, pretty quickly. They felt replaced, which is understandable.

Overall it was a very entertaining and joyous read. I look forward to the next book..

I absolutely LOVE The DeLuca Family series, but I believe that Deep Dark has become my favorite to date. Isabelle, aka Izzy, is the single mother of the siblings, juggling a great deal with the help of her crazy family, but none know the truth of how she became the mother of her tiny human. But fate helped that along, when one day, she came across said father of one night stand, out of the blue, and all of the sudden, everything changed in the blink of an eye, as baby daddy Mac, never got her out of his mind. Now, they are starting at the beginning, but how will he react to the child that he never knew he had? Not to mention that Izzy has come across a dangerous situation at her job that has put her in the middle of something deadly. WOW! The talented & addictive Amy Reece turned up the drama & excitement with Deep Dark, and I couldn't put it down to even take a bathroom break. The twists were crazy, and f-bomb dropping worthy, and I dropped them like they were hot. And Mac & Izzy? Well I wanted them together when he first came on the scene as they were perfect together, no skeletons for me to want to hurt him. He was perfect, and she was as perfect as she could be. And all of the secondaries were amazing, added depth, and overbearing in the best ways. But of course, it was the tiny human, Janey stole the show! This was a fantastic story, and I cannot wait for the next one with the awesome family! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

More DeLuca Love

What happens when you run into the father of your child that was a result of a one night stand? Well, you get another Deluca story to read.
Izzy met Mac six years ago in a bar, shortly after she breaks up with her boyfriend. They had a wonderful night together and she leaves while he's still sleeping without learning his last name. Mac was scheduled to be deployed the next day, therefore she thought she'd never see him again.
Fast forward six years. Mac is back in Albuquerque working for Homeland Security. He's a green beret that was discharged for being injured. He runs into Izzy at a mall and asks if they could get together.
Initially, Izzy didn't tell Mac about their daughter. She was enjoying getting to know him and never thought it was the right time. He finds out when he accidentally runs into them at a restaurant. From that moment on, he is determined to win Izzy's heart, along with Janey's and the rest of her family. Izzy's brothers were not so welcoming. Mac is there for her when her life is being threatened.
Once again, Ms. Reece does a good job of having the right amount of suspense and romance.

Mystery, love and so much family!

It has to be said that this is the best book of the series. It's got everything a reader could want. Mystery, love and so much family. It keeps you hooked from the first page and holds you hostage.
Isabella aka Izzy is my favorite character. She is such a strong woman, being a single mom and handling a huge career. She doesn't fit anyone's mold. Janey is so adorable too.
In this novel the mystery of who her father is finally comes out. It's not at all what I pictured had happened.
Mac steps up and is amazing with Izzy and Janey. He will make you swoon.
It's so easy to fall in love with everything that gets thrown at them. There is so many obstacles trying to tear their new life apart. It's up and down but will keep you so invested for this family.

Totally in love with this fantastic series and the entire DeLuca family! Deep Dark is Izzy's story and it has just the right mix of romance, steam, mystery, suspense, and the addition of another swoon worthy alpha hottie, Mac. We finally get the answer to who little Janey's father is and the story behind him. Totally loved the story from the first page to the last and can't wait for the next book!

This book has secrets, Homeland Security, family drama, action and a well written storyline. I enjoyed Izzy, Mac and their daughter Janey but I thought the DeLuca brothers were unfair to Mac. Great characters and the DeLuca family taking care of each other was really nice to read. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.

Mac and Izzy's story was just as good as the previous two stories in the DeLuca family.

We finally have some answers about the family.

I loved this story just as much as the rest of the series and cannot wait to read more.

I'd actually be willing to round this one up to 4. First of the DeLuca books where one of the two leads didn't spend quite a while driving me bananas (Melanie was fairly spineless in book 1, and Hugh was OTT alpha into alpha-hole territory in book 2). I liked both leads here, and that made a difference.

Izzy (h) is a single mom, the second oldest in the DeLuca clan. She's been completely close-lipped about the father of her child, but her family has been steadfastly supportive. Her life is thrown for a loop however, when Mac (H), her memorable one night stand and her daughter's father, runs into her again by chance. Will he be open to a relationship with her? And with their daughter? And what about the possible terror threat her work has exposed?

The romance itself was straightforward and sweet. Neither had forgotten the other over the past six years, and were willing to explore the chemistry that was still there - no hurdles on that front. Mac was ready for a family, and Janey was super open to a new person coming into her life. The biggest family challenge was the overprotectiveness of Izzy's brothers. Good for Izzy standing her ground on the mutual nature of their previous encounter - heck, she was the one who snuck out in the morning, after all! I liked that there was no push-pull drama or immature, hot-tempered break-up from the leads (rather a refreshing change), but I do wish there'd been a little more tension before they're back in a deep relationship. Maybe some reluctance on Izzy's part about his job? Or hurdles with Janey accepting him (or vice versa - him feeling ready for a child)? As much as I liked him, Mac was almost too perfect an H, and their relationship almost too easy.

The bigger storyline was the possible domestic terror threat that Izzy's work exposed, something that Mac had to deal with as an agent with Homeland Security. I wish there'd been a little more development between the two romantically/personally (I always love to see good mutual growth and support in my romance leads), but like I said above, the romance was pretty straightforward and fairly simple.

I think my biggest complaint was the investigation itself. The acronym that was the big clue... it was the straight-out acronym for the organization - not even a coded one. And not one big fancy law enforcement database search had turned it up? Or the fact that it had a big luncheon in March with a high-profile guest?? Or even a basic Google search! It just seemed like such a weird plot hole. Took a lot of suspended disbelief that it hadn't turned up sooner in their investigation.

Minor me-thing. I don't like the title. Makes me think of Fraggle Rock and the Deep Deep Dark Dark Deep Dark Pit. But that's just me.

Pretty well paced and well-edited (the whole series has been, actually). No complaints there.

Alternating 3rd person POV. No love triangles, no cheating, no OW/OM drama. Fairly clean - while the leads do sleep together, it's nothing explicit and mostly 'fade to black' sorts of scenes. The romance and new family dynamics were almost hurt-your-teeth cute, but it made for a light, sweet read. The suspense required a fair amount of suspended disbelief, but it was a much stronger suspense storyline than book 2. HEA and short-term epilogue. No cliffhangers, but we have three more DeLuca siblings to get married off, so we'll see where things go.

Would I read more in the series? Yup. All 4 out so far have been free on Kindle at one time or another, so I've picked them up along the way. Have read 3 so far. While it's not a huge favorite, I've enjoyed the series overall (though I wasn't as big a fan of Hugh's story). Nice, light escapist romantic suspense series.

I am in love with this series and the DeLuca family. This is a third installment in this series and finally we get to know who is Isabella’s baby daddy.
Single Mom Isabella is doing everything she can to have a career while talking care of her daughter. Who is her baby’s father is a question everyone has but she has managed to shut them all up. Until she runs into Mac at the mall.
Mac remembers Isabella , the one-night stand that had left such a mark on him. He hasn’t been able to forget her in all these years. But she has some news for him.
This second chance romance was so beautiful executed with all the pieces falling in the right places. Isabella & Mac are perfect for each other.
Highly recommended!!
