I have read each of the first three books as they came out and reviewed them as I went. The final book, Contact, is the only one I hadn't read and it is the series finale. As you might guess, each book ends with more action to come. I guess they are technically "cliffhangers," but I never looked at them that way. This review is only for the last book.

In Contact the crew is still pursuing Grimm and his enhanced soldiers. Every time they think they have him he manages to slip away. Not only that, he seems to know their location and battle plan ahead of time. This can only mean one thing, a spy. But who is it? Is it a member of their tight little crew, which has grown by several members recently? Or one of the pirates that recently joined in the battle? Or maybe it is someone from the T. A. F. fleet that is "supporting" them. Whoever it is they have to find a way to neutralize them if they're ever going to get Grimm.

Battles will be fought, allies found and lost, love will blossom, and comrades will be wounded and killed. Through it all Kira and Thor will fight to keep their misfit crew together and everyone's eyes on the goal - stop Grimm.

I was given an ARC of this book. My review is voluntary.

The Far Hope series all in one box set. A great way to make sure you read all for books in order. Each is its own story but builds on the previous one. I thought they were all good stories with a lot of action and steamy scenes for the romance reader.

In Thor, I was introduced to the main characters Kira and Thor. Once I started reading I was hooked and had to finish it in one day. I loved how the characters come to life and the one liners by Kira and Thor. Their banter while running for their lives was funny. I liked the twists and turns that Kira and Thor faced and how they got out of each confrontation with the "bad guys".

Redemption was well written and I could easily picture what was going on and enjoyed the space battles and everyone zipping around finding trouble. I enjoyed the personal interactions of the whole "team" under Kira's command. A few scenes made me laugh out loud. Thought it was funny to watch Kira face the fact that she loved Thor and that she really thought she could hide her relationship with Thor on a small spaceship. Of course in between the fun scenes Kira and company were on a mission to inform Earth of facts they had discovered and then went looking for more and figured out some of what Grimm's plan might be. War is coming!

Supernova was another good story in the Far hope series. This time Kira, Thor and the rest of the gang are back with a lot of action and running around trying to save the world from Colonel Grimm and his latest plan to take over everything. This time the gang is asked to make a great sacrifice to stop one of Grimm's plans. Of course something goes wrong and Kira and Thor must fight for their lives.

I thought that each story was well written, full of action and fight scenes, and addicting as I had to see how everyone would get out of each stories problem. Plus there were a few funny scenes scattered throughout the books that were a blast. I usually finished each story in one sitting as they were really good in my opinion.

Kira is a hotshot military space pilot. She is a great pilot but with unconventional methods. She is about to start a three month leave when her first commander and mentor asks her for a favor. She is to secretly fly a prisoner to the worst prison planet. She is told not question but keep her distance from the ship and prisoner to protect herself. Kira is not happy but she agrees because of how much she owed the General.
The flight is a nightmare. The general's men blow up her shuttle soon after she arrives so she is stranded. They run into alien enemies and pirates. When they are boarded, her prisoner escapes the cell and seeks her out. Thor is a cyborg who has undergone lots of modifications. When he refused to go along any farther, he was told he would be sent to prison. When Thor meets Kira they are drawn together. The more Kira and Thor discuss their situations and experiences, it becomes clear that something strange is going on. Now they have to find out the truth
In Redemption, Captain Kira,Thor and their friends are racing to warn Earth about an upcoming attack by the evil admiral when they discover their news is too late. The admiral and his forces have already started a coup on the Terran forces. They still want to notify the good admiral abut their Captain Kira and her crew are now free people with the price on their heads gone. They aren't out of trouble. Colonel Grim is trying to take over the universe and get his revenge on Kira and Thor. It is pretty clear that Grim has the doomsday weapon that can cause a sun to go supernova. Right now the Terran Alliance has stopped his advance so the next step is to find Grim's hideout and take him and his weapon out. Kira and the admiral figure out he is hiding out in a destroyed enemies base but no one has record where that base used to be. Grim has two former associates who might be able to take them there but they are locked up in a prison the Alliance has no authority in.

I really wanted to like this series...

I read this through KU. I kept this series for months and kept picking it up and putting it down. I really wanted to like it-- the heroine is smart, capable, and ballsy. The plot went off with a bang from the start. But, I quit at just 9%.

I have read A LOT of books; my highest was 100 in just 1 month. I always try to finish the read so I can fully understand whether I liked it and why. I just couldn't keep forcing myself to get through this one. I kept looking at the % and dying a little.

I think that the series was full of potential but missed the mark in terms of pacing and the romance. First, the pacing was God awful because the main threat was too vague and removed from the main characters until they get into an air battle that forces them planetside. This is where I expected the "will they, won't they" romance to go somewhere. It did not. And, the only obvious progression was on the part of the heroine; we just don't know a lot about the hero or how he feels. Then, the big moment occurred "off screen" so to speak. I don't need/want erotica but give me something emotional to make my time investment pay off, at least. It just wasn't there. Then the big bad made its move and it was like, "who cares?" The danger was not and did not feel imminent. So, I finally decided to move on.

3.5 stars. This set includes books 1-4 in the Far Hope series. You can read each as a standalone book, but each book (except Contact) ends in a soft cliffhanger for the next book. So it will make more sense if you have read the books in order and this set makes that easy to do. There is violence and sex so 18+.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all of that info here. These books offer an interesting take on the genetically modified soldier storyline. The author has done a good job of explaining the settings and what each side is fighting for. There is a lot of history between the characters that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. Plus when politics, the military, and government agencies are involved...you get the picture. As usual, everything and everyone are not as they seem. The storyline and characters are average but well written. Overall I enjoyed reading this series and wish it wasn't over.

I received a copy of this set from the author, though I own books one through three, and chose to leave a review for other readers.

Awesome space version of Robin Hood and his merry men and the leader is a woman! I've read this series since the first volume debuted and it is f-a-n-tastic! Well-written space adventure with romance, humor, nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and starship battles galore. I loved the main characters, Spaceship Captain Kira and her love interest, super warrior Thor. But the author also slowly built a strong contingent of loyal friends, each with unique abilities and endearing character traits. A veritable band of brave and merry men (but with a woman leading the show) And, yes, a fair share of villains and traitors, including evil mastermind Baron Grimm (move over Sheriff of Nottingham!!). The brand new, last volume is, for me, the most thrilling of all and a truly satisfying ending to the series. Once you start the first volume, you won't want to put it down, so free up a weekend and get yourself comfortably situated for a great read!

I received a complimentary advance copy of this set from the author. This is my voluntary and honest review.

This set of books is absolutely amazing! Each story is a whirlwind of adventure, pulling the readers in and making them part of the crew to really experience the non-stop action! The characters are really inspiring, defined by their courage and actions, trustworthy and loyal, despite the hard world they navigate in. Even the most despicable has a code of honor they live by.

The action builds from showing the reader how the crew was selected, all the way through the discovery of a horrendous plot by a crazed madman to implode stars and destroy life everywhere. It left me breathless in some of their crazy situations. But knowing their courage, I knew somehow they would keep going.

The final book was so good that I hated to finish it and know that was all there was – at least until the author writes more of these adventures (I hope). I seriously and profoundly recommend reading this series. The story line will grab you at the start and won’t let go! It does leave you breathless, but what an experience!

Book 1 Thor:
We met Thor, when the ship he was jailed on was attack by an Insect swarm in deep space, which caused the power to go out, thus allowing the cell door to open. Kira, the pilot, who had been coerced into taking this mission to deliver the then unknown prisoner to a bounty hunter near a black hole prison.
However, for the two to survive, they had to join forces to get off the infested ship. This is just the start of the drama, as they are joined by others in a fight to advise authorities that the Commander that coerced Kira, and who was also responsible for Thor's imprisonment was on a path of world domination, and had to be stopped.
Yes a very good read.

A series that won't disappoint, full of genetic enhanced warriors who with humans must save the galaxy! Every story is unique but tied in with the previous ones so it's like watching a mini series on TV because Ms. James doesn't just write the words she imbues them with the magic of a storyteller and you are hooked from page one! Romance, betrayal, miscommunication, misunderstanding I mean this series has it all! Just fantastic! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy

An intense and kicka$$ sci-fi adventure. Action and space fights, spying and committing crimes, enemies and great friends and don’t forget a wonderful romance that grows throughout the series. Captain Winter and her crew will entertain you with their heroics and trouble making. But without them the Earth and galaxy would be destroyed.

Highly suggest for all sci-fi adventure readers.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the series.

A harrowing space adventure, and a beautiful love. No damsels in distress here. Just a kickass captain with her valiant and loyal crew trying to save the universe, one fight at a time...if they can live long enough to do it! A must-read for all space opera fans!!!

Go the good guys!

Not a bad read. There are some very amusing and quirky characters who draw you in. It is a typical space opera with the good guys fighting a seemingly losing battle but they slowly overcome all opposition! Good fun.

This is one of my first ever 1 star review. This author is stuffing their boxset on Amazon to screw over other authors in the Kindle Unlimited program. No matter how good the books are, this author is immoral and dishonest.
