Kayla grew up on an Idaho cattle ranch, but now calls the wheat fields of the Washington Palouse home with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. She writes romance, chick lit, and now romantic suspense. Her rural roots inspire her writing, and she enjoys giving the world a little taste of a life most folks have never experienced. A rabid reader, when Kayla isn’t writing, ushering dogs in and out of the house, or taking care of the humans in her family, you can find her in a comfy spot with a book or an e-reader in her hands.

Well, this is one of the best books that I've forgotten to review. Better late than never! This story is part sequel to Tackling Summer, and part new story with an expanding cast of characters. All the characters are nicely done, the new blending with the original and forming lively relationships. You don't have to read Tackling Summer first to enjoy this book, but it's more fun if you do. I know nothing of football, as I'm not a fan of the sport, but the story is so well done that it didn't matter. I may have learned some things about football. I certainly understood Delsi's struggles, both as a single mother and with her job in a field that doesn't welcome women. All of the main characters in this story have struggles of one sort or another, as all good stories do. It's a fun book to read, and I enjoyed it.

Great romance

The book intrigued me when the author was nominated for one of my Best Indie Titles of 2017 awards on my author blog, and the author was nice enough to share the story with me for a review. First, I loved that the female lead was an NFL trainer, and that lent to the greatness of this story. It's a tale of two women, and I love it. The characters have great strength, and they are not only struggling with life, but on the edge of fighting for love. Well-written and captivatingly intriguing.

Delsi is a woman in a man's world, athletic trainer for a professional football team and single mother. In this book we also return to Chanel and her struggles with moving out of her comfort zone, from the ranch to the big city, to be with her professional football-playing boyfriend. Kayla does such an excellent job again developing her characters so they feel like real people, imperfections and all.

Love this book! It's a great story rich with interesting characters and a well developed plot. I have not read the first in this series yet (Tackling Summer); however, it is definitely now on the must read list. This book provides enough back story to stand alone and get me 'hooked' on the main characters. Kayla Dawn Thomas is an incredibly talented author... this may be one of her best works yet!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author. This is my take on it: A single mom, a continuing romance, throw in the NFL and I’m hooked! Great story, great believable characters, beloved pets – I just might be converted to reading romance books! Delsi is a female NFL trainer (Yes – FEMALE NFL TRAINER!), trying to fit into a traditional male world. She struggles to prove herself and the very rich, very nice, very handsome new team owner throws a wrench in that struggle by taking more than a passing interest in her. We also see a continuation of a developing relationship between Chanel and Maddox, one started in the first book, Tackling Summer. This second in a series is well-written and would appeal to most.

I loved Fighting for Fall! It has been a long time since I stayed up till 3 am reading a book but I just kept telling myself "one more chapter..." This is the 2nd in a series of books and although you don't need to read the first book "Tackling Summer" it gives you the backstory for Maddox and Chanel, 2 of the main characters. Kayla Dawn Thomas is quickly becoming a favorite for me. Her novels feature realistic relationships and characters you can easily relate to.
