“Perhaps it is not Arthur who needs to remember what once was, but you. You, Queen Guinevere, the Undead Queen and the Keeper of Excalibur.”
➢ I was able to read all three books (the entire trilogy) in half a day, as they weren’t very lengthy.
➢ Character development was rushed, as were storylines.
➢ M.L. Bullock included/covered a vast amount of Arthurian legend in this trilogy.
➢ By cramming as many characters and details from Arthurian legend as she could within three books, there wasn’t enough time to really enjoy them. We were moving from one story line to the next so quickly, that it was a mimicry of a high turnover rate. It felt like a case of quantity over quality.
➢ M.L. Bullock paid homage to the Once and Future King prophecy, through time-travel, reincarnation, and multi-dimensions.
➢ These three plot-devices are the foundation on which the entire trilogy is built upon. And the only way I can describe it is with this Doctor Who quote, “it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff.” Essentially, I found almost all of it mind-boggling.
