Puis-je me duper moi-même ?

*A little bit of spoilers, let me tell you what no one else seems to mention*

Once I was finished with Monday I read the blurbs for all the books in the series because I wanted to see when she and Hawke would get their happy ending. I spoiled myself accidentally and my biggest fear became a reality. In the two years Frankie and Hawke were apart, she found someone else. That someone else is named Kyle and if you have read some of the other reviews you would know how "sweet, amazing, kind and blah blah" person he is. I never swa him like that because I spend half the book being pissed at pretty much everyone. If both of them had physical relationships with other people before this book began I would have been less irritated, but no, both of them had to have sex with other people even after they saw each other again. Hawke had threesomes and foursomes the two years they were apart while he was still loving Frankie and she had a no strings attached thing with Kyle for six months. I don't care what you say about me or if you find me a prude or whatever, but I really hate reading scenes with another woman or man involved.

I thought of quitting the book many times in the first half. No matter how frustrated Frankie was with Kyle or angry she has always succumbed to him and I was forced to read about them more than six times. Hawke not wanting to be left behind had also numerous one night things and even some regulars. I realized that knowing the names of the people the hero or the heroine are sleeping together is ten times worse than just reading about them doing it. I know that Frankie is the one who was wronged when Hawke broke up with her, but I just could emphasize with her when she was uncomfortable with the reminders of Hawke's other women. That was the total opposite from the way she was acting in the first book when she was okay with it and was acting very cool about it, I honestly didn't think that she had room to talk because she had an almost relationship with Kyle and she actually went to meet his family at the wedding of Kyle's cousin. For me the almost relationship is worse than the one night stands Hawke had because the former includes feelings. When Frankie said that she felt jealous because Kyle was going on a date with someone else I lost the last good feeling I had for her. I am also mad at Hawke because the dude slept with so many other women and I was forced to read some of it and he did that with some women because he knew that Frankie had a boyfriend which made me even angrier.

I got even more pissed when Frankie was all about how Hawke is her soul mate, her biggest love and her encounters with other men where trash and shouldn't be compared to what she and Hawke had, Hawke was loving Frankie for the past two years while he was sticking it into hundreds of women. Statements like that only make me more bitter at the world. Call me a dream or stupid, but when you love someone you fight for them and you don't waste your time screwing others.

The book brought back memories of another book I have read called Find me by Laurelin Paige. I was expecting Frankie to become pregnant and add more drama to the book. I honestly believe I will be seeing nightmares for a couple of nights. The book was a big disappointment for me and the only thing that saved the book was Axel and Marrie's moment in the end. I hope I will get to read it again in their book because that scene brought tears to my eyes. I might have not read the third book yet, but I would recommend skipping this book and read Wednesday after Monday.

In E.L. Todd’s second installment of the Timeless Series, Ms. Todd left us with an ending in Monday that had us in mourning and hopefully this time around, Tuesday will be a brighter outcome for Hawke and Frankie.

Two years have gone by and Frankie and Hawke have gone their separate ways. Frankie has fulfilled her dreams of owning her own bakery. Everything that she had wanted is in her grasps except the man that she loved. Now with Hawke knocking on her door, will she let him in or will he find himself waiting for Wednesday to come?

#Tuesday

Tuesday was more of an raw emotional aspect of the relationship of Hawke and Frankie. Readers are allowed to feel the hurt, the sadness, the guilt, and the burning desire to make things right between them. In true and raw fashion, Ms. Todd did not wrap the story of Hawke and Frankie in a nice HEA bow but she allowed readers to see that not every relationship can be easily fixed. Relationship and trust takes time. And so in this installment, Hawke and Frankie needed this time apart to really see and evaluate the matters of the heart. And so what awaits for these two will finally be answered in the next installment. Now that Monday and Tuesday have passed, it’s time for this couple to get over this hump as they venture onto Wednesday.

While this installment may be frustrating at times as Hawke and Frankie navigate their relationship, I did enjoy the raw and emotional aspect that Ms. Todd weaved into this story line. All there is left to say, I hope this couple will get the happily ending that they deserve.

Y tenemos a Axel y Marie ¡Comprometidos!

This is the second book in the Timeless series. The story of Frankie and Hawke continues two years after the conclusion of book one. I definitely got pulled into the story right away. It gives you the angst and emotion to really root for these characters. I definitely felt the dialogue and maturity of the characters had improved from book one. One thing that was incredibly annoying from the H’s inner thoughts was the amount of times he mentioned the number of women he sleep with, how beautiful they were and how good they were in bed!! ugh! But once again I will continue on to book three to see where this frustrating couple ends up.

LMAO…this writer. JFC, fact checking is a thing. The h’s OMBF is an attorney with a private practice…yet he’s prosecuting a criminal in federal court. #icanteven #thatsnothowitworks.

——

I read Thursday (4) and Friday (5) before book 2. I recommend that reading order. I feel you need the info on what was happening with this couple since book 4 & 5 take place during the break between book 1 & 2.

Review for book 1 & 2

Angst is good, I’d recommend it for that. I both loved and hated H/h. He’s a manho deluxe. Completely loyal/faithful while in relationship with h. But fucks around in both books when they’re not. She’s both intelligent and ridiculous at times, a very usual, not-exactly-doormat h.

B1 … He had serious anger issues due to abusive father and a mom who wouldn’t leave her abuser but called H to save her every time shit went south. H is very much in love with h and transforms himself for her into happily monogamous BBF with jealousy/anger issues. He needed therapy.

B2 … He left the h “for her own safety” at end of book 1 and moves to NYC where he becomes a millionaire fund manager fucking models and randoms throughout the 2 year break and during book 2. He owns his own fund and has ego and manho skillz to match. Tho I don’t think we get a clear picture of what exactly that OW number looks like.

B1 … the h is flirty but a “good-girl.” The kind that just thinks she’s pretty and average but is a goddamn gorgeous pocket-diva fairy with an attitude who just wants to be wuvvved. *blink-blink*

B2 … Between books she’s in emotional recovery, spent 2 months almost catatonic until her brother in book 4 says some of the most unbelievably vile vitriol. It made him never redeemable…cuz she makes a serious suicide attempt because of it. Then after 4 more nearly catatonic months she starts dating and fucking. But that’s all in books 4 & 5. Now in book 2 it’s 2 years later and she’s a sassy, sexy emotional ice maiden with an awesome FB who gets his HEA in books 6 & 7. The h now owns a bakery in Manhattan the H secretly bankrolled that’s massively successful in under a year and she’s making bank and looking to open a second store. (eye-roll to all that bullshit).

They’re both unlikeable in book 2, but the angst was good and it kept me going. After all, I spent precious days reading about the shitty couple in books 4 & 5, I needed to read this H/h cuz after all the interference from the other asshole couple
I had to see them get theirs.

I was only bothered by the OW in book 2 midway when he doesn’t stop fucking OW after he’s busted by an OW ONS the morning after when she comes back for her wallet and H is bringing h to show her his apartment for the first time early in the morning. He was still very much in love with the h and was also emotionally hurt by the OW situation. If he’d taken a moment to not run emotionally and clear his head about what he wanted from the h by getting his dick out of OW I could’ve been ok with his manho ways up to this point. He’s always been a whore as a way to distance himself from sex/connection…so I expect him to revert when not with h if he can’t keep it in his pants. If he’d had a relationship after her I wouldn’t have continued series.

I feel the couple in books 4/5 fucked over this couple irreparably. They tell the H the h moved on after 2 weeks and was dating and being social. When she probably hadn’t even had a shower since he left. They continue to lie to H about h’s condition, never tell him about suicide attempt, while they both know he is desperately in love with h but for “mysterious” reasons left her. They tell the h repeatedly the H is out fucking OW and partying like it’s 1999, well before I think he was doing either. As a reader you feel like this H/h might’ve gotten back together sooner had the other couple been honest or stayed the fuck out of it. I feel like the H never wanted h to suffer and might very well have come to his senses sooner and not become more emotionally fucked up if he knew h was in so much pain. He never stopped loving her. And the h never asked that couple to tell him she was fine when she clearly was not. Mix that with the things the H of book 4/5 repetitively said to his sister, this h, and I want to set that couple on fire because they are NEVER held accountable for their actions.

when rereading a book, the emotions I feel in the book always feel so much more powerful than the first time I read it.

*might be spoilers for Monday, this is your warning*

Tuesday starts off two years after the ending of Monday. Frankie now lives in Manhatten and has succeeded in her life-long dream of owning a bakery. In this book, we are also introduced to Kyle, Frankie's.... boytoy? No, that sounds bad... her booty call, nope, still sounds bad, uhmmm...
Anyway, I never really liked Kyle when I first met him, just because he was in the way of Frankie & Hawke's relationship, but after rereading this book multiple times, he has slowly grown on me. And I am very excited to read his books in this series, as they are the only books in the series that I have not read yet.

This is novel held a lot of ups and downs. A lot of emotion was felt again by yours truly.

"We're forever. And we're still forever."

Confesssions is the chapter in this book. iykyk. I broke down when I read that chapter, and my heart ached and broke in half for Hawke.

"I can give you the world—if you let me"
I absolutely adore Hawke in this novel. He kept on fighting for what he truly believed in and what he wanted needed. He never gave up, and it was worth it in the end. Frankie & Hawke both come from dark and painful pasts, and since I have read both Thursday and Friday, which is during the two years between Monday and Tuesday, I know what happened to Frankie, and her just being here says a lot about her character.

"And I'll dance all my dances with you forever."

I am emotionally not ready to begin Wednesday :)

My star rating for TUESDAY is: 4 out of 5 stars! :)

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an
ARC Copy of ‘TUESDAY’(via: BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novel of the Timeless Series.***

This is the second novel of the compelling Timeless Series titled “Tuesday” by author E. L. Todd. The amazing relationships between the characters will draw you in and the enjoyable storyline will pull you in, keeping you wanting to see what will happen between them all. This book is of the New Adult genre as well as a Contemporary Romance. Tuesday has been written in the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views) Francesca “Frankie” and Theodore “Hawke”.

The story picks up two-years later, Francesca “Frankie” now owns her own successful bakery business in the city. Living her life focused on her business while keeping a “hook-ups only” relationship with a guy named Kyle, Frankie seemed to be over any trace of the heartbreak she had with Hawke two-years ago. With the upcoming nuptials on the way, how will Frankie handle possibly being in the same place as Hawke once again after two-years?

Hawke has had a similar ideal plan, which consists of keeping busy with his career. When his best friend announces his engagement and enlists Hawke as his best man, he knows what that means. It means coming face to face with the woman who has held his heart: Francesca. Will he be able to handle keeping his distance from the woman who holds his heart completely or will this mean trouble?

The Timeless Series is an emotional journey the deals with falling into that all-consuming kind of love, dealing with imperfections brought on by issues. Will Frankie and Hawke be able to get passed their heartbreak or are they destined to rekindle that strong connection of love in their hearts? Has Frankie moved on for good? Will Hawke be satisfied with his shallow one-night stands? And what has been going on with Axel and Marie? This second novel of the Timeless Series is touching and enthralling. The characters continue to be strong, imperfect, beautiful and intriguing. I do recommend this book and the series! Check this out and definitely add them to your TBR list. :)

My star rating for TUESDAY is: 4 out of 5 stars! :)

After reading their last book I wanted to find out what would happened to Hawke and Francesca and if they would ever get back together and now after reading this book I feel like I've being on a rollercoaster there were so many ups and downs lol.
I liked how Francesca did try and move on despite only having feelings for Hawke and basically telling Kyle the man who she's casually seeing that Hawke would always be her soul mate no matter what and that did leave a bad taste in my mouth because in a way I was rooting for them to get together properly and for her to forget about Hawke but she basically pined for him throughout the book depsite her putting a tough face whenever she was in his presence or when she bumped into one of his lady friends coming out of his apartment, I didn't like how she used Kyle and how only she went to meet his family when she found out that Hawke had been sleeping about.

As for Hawke I wasn't really keen on him as it seemed to me that he finished her quickly but I understood why due to his past and his family background but I didn't like reading about him sleeping around whilst not having a care in the world about how she was feeling and then getting all jealous when he found out she had a boyfriend, I didn't get that he spent all the whole time saying that he was bad for her when in the second half of the book he was always around her and Francesca was quick to jump into bed with him.

I enjoyed the ending with Axel and Marie I was happy to see that their story is wrapped up but for Hawke and Francesca this more of a HFN.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review...

Oh does this series have me hooked!? Sucked in from page one of Monday, Tuesday just ripped my heart open again... These two have a connection that is beyond words. Frankie and Hawke truly started as friends, onto soulmates and now, we can only hope... With so much in his past keeping him from trusting himself, Hawke walked away leaving Frankie drowning in loss. Never the same since, she has and never will find another man who truly connects with her the way Hawke does and no one else will ever be enough to fill the void that he left in her. After tying to move on, suddenly he's back.... More heartache to watch, more tears shed as I read along.. this book/series is absolutely amazing! Literally read Tuesday in one day (while at work!?) as I just did not want to put it down!? HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended read about true soulmates, love, loss and second chances.

Getting over Hawke is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
I couldn’t breathe, sleep, or eat. Every day was more agonizing than the one that followed. But somehow, after two years of suffering, I finally got back on my feet.
And I moved on.
Now I’m living in the city and running my own bakery. Life is good again. I’m surrounded by good friends that I love, and every day is even better than the last.
Until everything changes.
Now I have to face him after two years of silence. I have to look him in the eye and act like he has no effect on me. I have to hold my head high and pretend he didn’t shatter me into a million pieces.
I have to act like he doesn’t mean a damn thing to me.
Can I fool him? Can I fool myself?
A great read that will take you on an emotional ride. 5 stars.

Buena segunda parte.

DNF 40 % - 1.5 for blurb and cover: Book two was too long but started out well with the wedding of Axel and Marie, but then took the same turn as book one. It became repetitive and addressed the same issues with this couple who took one step forward only to take three steps back. I became bored with the dialogue, characters and the storyline that was predictable and was extremely slow moving. How much can you write about the same two characters when there aren't some interesting facets that happen within the story to keep you engaged?

Frankie and Hawk's story just lost interest as this couple struggled to deal with their relationship, their lives and pasts in book 2. I wanted to see if the series ended in book 2 and saw that the author had written yet another book about these two people. I didn't want to hear about their less than interesting lives, the constant angst from their pasts, their on again off again feelings for one another in a third book. I have read suspenseful and intense contemporary love stories that was half this long that entertained me more than this series. It just boils down to what a reader looks for in the books they read. This series was not for me.

I returned the second book to KU and have moved on. You may love this series as many have before me, but am seeking a story that I am invested in.

My goodness, that cliffhanger from Monday is so worth it if this is what actually follows after. My emotions have gone haywire and my heart is still viciously pounding inside my chest. This book, these characters have exuded so much raw passion, longing, heartbreak and pain all throughout that even I can feel everything simmering deep in my bones. It felt all too real.

The feels from this book were so strong that I crumbled right along with both Francesca and Hawke during their entire journey. I admit, the two-year difference from where Monday ended and Tuesday began stunned me, but it made sense and only heightened the emotions when these two laid eyes on each other again even more. Their chemistry, that unique bond that they share was more intense and palpable than ever.

Hawke's POV shattered me the most, I think. You could clearly feel the immense heartbreak and agony he's continuously going through, still warring within his own self even after the couple of years he spent without Frankie. He's already scarred badly by his past and now this. He knew he messed up badly when he left her without a second glance back and he's beating himself up over it again and again. But with what he went through as a kid, I just couldn't blame him. I'm so upset that the actions of his parents, especially his father, affected him this much, this hard. If anyone deserves happiness in the world, it's seriously this guy. Even I'm compelled to heal him myself.

Frankie's revelations of what she went through during those hard times broke me too. I wasn't expecting that from her and I couldn't help but cry along with her. You'd think this girl is tough and could weather any storm, but this is Hawke we're talking about. He's her soulmate and whatever happens, they're tethered together forever. And with the way she's been left behind by her parents, getting shut out by Hawke was way worse for her. It was like she was ripping not only her heart, but her soul into two. I just couldn't imagine feeling so broken and so helpless like that. How will you be able to breathe again?

These two were already both so broken and torn up in the beginning, but it got so much worse when they parted ways. Hawke thought he was doing the right thing saving Frankie when he left, but he only realized later on that he didn't save her at all. He just ended up destroying both their worlds. Their reunion was so painfully bittersweet. They're like magnets, something inevitable. But the time they spent apart created such a huge gap between them even though their souls will always recognize each other. It was that much more heartbreaking knowing that they were physically close enough to each other, but couldn't act on anything. And seeing them both with other people just stabbed at my heart even more. It was the dagger of all daggers. I couldn't stand it, especially knowing that these two are truly meant to be together no matter what.

I loved their connection so badly, the way they are so in tuned to each other. It's extraordinarily exquisite and unlike any other. The book was so compelling to read from start to end. I can't wait to read and see where their relationship is headed next. I know this isn't the end, so I still have to hold on tight. I'm just hoping that this time around, whatever happens, they're both wiser, stronger and on a sturdier ground than ever.

I absolutely love Frankie and Hawke. I was so involved in their story that I kept reading more and more. I really hope that they get their happily ever after.

Marie and Axel were a surprise couple. Marie and Axel were never the type to have just one person and be in any relationships. When they finally let their guard down, you couldn't keep those two apart. Marie and Axel were a forever together couple and were on their way to getting married. A few days before the wedding, Axel was acting very strange and wouldn't confide in anyone including Hawke. Axel disappeared and Hawke was a little frantic. He didn't want to let Frankie or Marie down.

Axel was definitely a man in love and he couldn't marry Marie without telling her the truth about a past indiscretion. Marie loves him too and told him that they were getting married. The wedding was everything that could be hoped for.

I can't wait to read more about these four people.

Talk about nerve racking no anticipation. I wasn't sure I would be able to take it. It starts off two years after Hawke leaves Frankie. I knew he would be back to his ways so that wasn't surprising but what was supposing was Kyle. I liked him. He isn't Hawke by any means but you can't help but like him and your heart break for him but some things aren't meant to be I suppose and I know Hawke and Frankie belong together. You get a lot of axel and Marie in the story and another surprising twist with the two but all I wanted to focus on was Hawke and a Frankie. Those two consume me. I'm so excited to see what happens in Wednesday.

FML, why the hell did I keep reading this series...*spoilers* I'm going to walk out on you with no explanation, then I'm going to not communicate with you for TWO YEARS. However, when I see you in person the first time in that TWO YEARS I'm going to want you back. I'll also promise to never do the same thing to you again if you give me a chance. Meanwhile, female lead says she'll never take him back, end the relationship with a pretty great sounding guy and then SURPRISE take the previous guy back. I was feeling a very tiny bit better about the relationship, then book three happened...

I was curious how this story was going to continue and the way that we did it was through a leap 2 years into the future. Everyone’s now living in NYC and the girls have graduated from college, living their dreams. Marie is working at a magazine (in what capacity, we never find out but that’s what we hear), and Frankie has managed to open Muffin Girl (mind you that’s really not realistic but this is a book so i’ll just let it go) .

She’s found a way to be happy even though it took time. her bakery is thriving beyond what anyone could have imagined and she’s figured out how to keep her walls up but still get what she needs. She’s flipped the script and has become what all other men in EL Todd books are, flings and nothing more – manwhores.

This story starts off when Marie announces that she’s engaged and it’s to Axel, Frnakie’s brother. This means that Marie will now be her sister and that’s perhaps the best news ever. The challenge of course is that it means that Frankie will be the maid of honor, but that Axel’s best friend will be the best man, and that friend is Hawke.

It’s taken 2 years to get over him, we learn throughout the story what that really meant – how horrible the break up was on Frankie and it makes you really want to hate Hawke for what he did. On the other hand though, he knows what he’s capable of and he’s afraid to hurt her, so there was no choice that he really felt that he had to keep her safe.

The bulk of this story is spent watching them stalk around each other. they say they can be around each other and friends but that’s not possible given their chemistry and the notion that they are soul mates. They want to be together but don’t want to admit to each other that they need to be together. Frankie goes so far as to have a long term fling with a guy who seems perfect and likely would have been the right guy for her if Hawke was never in the picture. Kyle is good looking, successful, kind, and really the perfect guy. but he’s not Hawke and that’s always going to be what holds her back.

Hawke on the other hand tries to go back to his ways with meaningless relationships but he finds that all he does is think of Frankie and that’s something that he just can’t stop doing.

As the wedding draws closer, we see bumps in the road of their friendship, we see other relationships take priority, we see the potential for romance elsewhere and we see concern on the face of other friends. At the center of all this though is the sweet relationship between Marie and Axel, until he leaves her at the altar.

All in all, we have a roller coaster that gives us SOME of the expected and quite a bit of surprise and i can’t wait to seer what’s up next in Wednesday since i’m not sure where this story can really go

Hmmm... It seems my hormones are still on the crazy ride they've been on for the past couple of weeks, seeing as there has been another book in these weeks which has made me all gooey and cry-y. It's seriously not good for my rep!

Of course, "Tuesday" was not as incredibly fantastic and amazing as "Monday" but GODDAMN IT, THIS COUPLE! They need to stop punching me with feels. I literally devoured this book the same day as I read the first book to see what happens next and I felt weirdly nostalgic about Frankie and Hawke's initial relationship in "Monday" and how they (mainly Hawke) tried to mend everything. That's a testament to how great a job the author does to make the two-year gap feel real- or maybe it has something to do with how much of a sucker I am for "long-lost lovers" romances.

However, I must mention the elephant in the room- the two protagonists had sexual relationships with other people even though they both claimed to be each others' soulmate. Some readers couldn't deal with this. I was one of the ones who could. I'm someone who believes true love is messy and bumpy. This is why "Tuesday" felt so true to me. It felt real. These two people in so much pain turned to (or reverted to, in Hawke's case) whatever made them feel good to simply feel at all. I also have to mention that they never justified their actions, if they were malicious, and only did what they could to deal with what happened.

All in all, I'm so happy with this sequel, which showed me that "Monday" was not a one-hit wonder romance novel. "Tuesday" has ensured that I will continue with the Timeless series and surely reread it MANY times.

(P.s. When I love a book or a series a lot, I usually make a playlist. However, with this series, other than the one song on all of my "long-lost lovers" playlists ("Outside" by Catfish and the Bottlemen), there was only one song- "Stupid Thing" by Nickel. I literally listened to it on loop while I was reading "Tuesday." Listen to it and tell me it's not perfect for this book!)

Francesca & Hawke are both living in Manhattan. Now, both successful in their chosen fields; Francesca owns her own bakery, Hawke owns his own investment firm. It's been two years since that eventful day & they haven't seen each other since. Her brother & best friend are getting married & Francesca is planning & organizing their engagement party. She is the maid of honour, Hawke is the best man so it is inevitable that they will meet at this event. Awkward, uncomfortable, stimulating, it is all of these for Francesca but she gets through it. Hawke sits in the chair next to her & is the one pushing to have a conversation. She is polite but not overly interested. Their second journey begins. In his mind, Hawke is relentless, he needs her, loves her, wants her back, but how to go about it. Francesca has never stopped loving him but he destroyed her entire being. She no longer trusts him but only fears he would leave her again & she would not survive this a second time. Hawke is still struggling with his issues, his past, but he's trying to be a better man for her. This story is heart-wrenching at times, I can feel the pull between these two. They belong together. This is only part two of their story & it leaves us feeling hopeful & happy for them & how far they've come.

This story is just as compelling as the first but I had a HUGE problem with the reason for all the angst. We have an entire book written about Hawke’s horrible problem and why he left Frankie, when the solution is bludgeoning EVERYONE in the face. Hello!!!! Counseling!! This is nothing that even a mediocre therapist couldn’t help solve. BUT, rather than use an ounce of common sense... well... guess if they would have done that we wouldn’t have a basis for this book.

I did love the fact that Frankie stood up, got on with her life and didn’t allow Hawke right back in immediately. Her character was everything one hopes in a female lead - kind, compassionate but independent and strong. She works hard, gives her heart but doesn’t allow people to walk all over her - even the man she knows is her soulmate. She will live alone rather than be treated poorly.

The technical writing is still a drawback. A plethora of VERY basic sentences like, “His heart started beating fast..” leaves readers yearning for even a little more creativity but, once again, the overall story stays compelling enough that it pushes us onward.
