He certainly didn't ask Santa for a bride. . . Dragged into a crazy publicity stunt, one handsome cowboy has no idea how he ended up accidentally married.

Tired of listening to her suggestions, he gives her free rein when she hatches a plan to skyrocket his popularity. All he has to do is show up for a phony wedding in Las Vegas. Then Chase discovers the wedding was real, the surprise bride is beautiful, and his sponsors are demanding he remain married.

The promise of an all-expenses paid vacation to Las Vegas lures her on an adventure that ends with her unexpectedly married to a hunky bull rider who would draw her out of her shell if she’d let him.

A business proposal leaves the two of them committed to a year of marriage. How hard could it be to remain wed in name only?

Chasing Christmas, the 5th book in Shanna Hatfield’s Rodeo Romance Series is as powerful as the 1st-four books. Shanna has a talent at writing the most heartwarming romance with humor, conviction, and pure satisfaction.
She is one of only two authors I’ve found in all my years of reading, who knows the sport of Rodeo, she can deliver an amazing story, and keep true to the Rodeo Cowboy way.
Absolutely a phenomenal series and Chasing Christmas is the cherry on top of this delightful series.
Chase and Jessie’s story will uplift you, bring a smile to your heart, and leave you believing in the power of love.
Well done Ms. Hatfield, well done!!!

I loved this book!! Accidentally married? I wondered how that was going to happen. It worked well, and really made sense, and totally made me laugh. I loved the immediate connection between Chase and Jessie. They were both great characters, easy to love and root for. Chase is hard working and determined. I liked the little things he did for Jessie. She is humble, sweet, kind and has incredible inner strength. They were good for each other, and good together. And definitely had chemistry!!

I always get excited when Shanna Hatfield has a new book coming out. For good reason! I know I’ll get a great story, great characters, humor, and romance. I know it will be a book I won’t want to put down. I’m already looking forward to the next one!

I received a complimentary copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.

IT’S ONLY OVER IF YOU LET IT BE

Once again, Ms. Shanna Hatfield has taken the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride with all the ups and downs of two special people, Bull Rider, Chase Jarrett, and Graphic Artist, Jessie Pierce. While this story is part of a series and does have many characters from the previous four books, it will easily read as a stand-alone novel. Ride this ride with Chase and Jessie, and you won’t regret it.

I went through so many emotions, from having times that I was laughing out loud so hard at some of the antics, to moments where I sighed from the sweetness to audible groans and shuttered from the unbelievable foot-in-mouth syndrome. The story is a clean contemporary that covers the rodeo circuit along with the stressful schedule and hazards of being a bull rider. Then to throw in an unexpected surprise of a marriage that was supposed to be fake, but in fact, is real.

The plot will begin with Ashley Jarrett, Chare’s cousin who handles his publicity, concocting a plan to have a contest where Chase will marry for a day, a lucky contestant, in Las Vegas the last day of the Championship Rodeo event. She assures him, this is all in fun, and just to lure in interest, endorsers, sponsors, and how the fans will love it. It is all to be pretend. Jessie’s best friend Stacy enters Jessie to become the pretend bride to Chase Jarrett, and when she wins, it will have the two girls traveling to Las Vegas. Jessie doesn’t even meet Chase until she walks down the aisle at the venue. Shy, unpretentious, she feels a spark when he takes her hand, but this is all for the show.

The story is full of various twists and turns, but what was supposed to be a fake marriage, comes with a major shock, a real preacher, a legal license, and now a predicament for both of them. Get it annulled, or to stay married in name only and pretend to be the happy newlywed couple for the adoring fans. For Chase, it will come with untold endorsements, new sponsors, and not only help him in his rodeo career but benefit him and his ranch financially. But what about Jessie and what is in it for her? Jessie will have the joys of being on a ranch again, and she will gain new clients for her business.

Besides laughing out loud, wanting to shake the living daylights out of these two, I was cheering them on hoping for both of them to come to their senses. Martyrdom doesn’t suit either one, and if there were two people who understood each other, especially with their childhood and families they had been dealt in life, it would be these two. Now if they could only be honest with themselves and each other.

The story will have the reader feeling like they are on the bull ride with all the angst between these two. Life would be so much sweeter, like all the yummy treats Jessie bakes, if they would just be honest and open with their feelings. Jessie is one of the calmest people, not exploding when most people would, she is an amazing lady, but she has had too many years keeping her emotions bottled up. “Still waters running the deepest.” Life is so short, and when you find that one, the person who makes your heart beat faster, you better grab on and not let go. BTW, you will get that HEA ending.

Omg Shanna Hatfield has written another wonderful book I didn’t want to end!! I absolutely fell in love with Chase and Jessie. The total difference in their personalities make for a rapid page turning can’t put down book. It’s one of those books that leave you with feel good life can be great moment. The way Shanna Hatfield can draw the reader into her story is simply amazing and a very talented gift!! I could just see Jessie in her fluffy white skirt and red flannel shirt in one scene of the book. This whole Christmas Rodeo Cowboys is a series not to be miss especially book 5 Chasing Christmas!!

I loved this Christmas romance. If you read a lot of clean romance novels you have probably come across a 'fake wedding that was actually real' plot. Its Ms. Hatfield's twist on it that makes this book so good. She takes a handsome bull rider, an introverted beautiful woman, a sneaky cousin and a meddling best friend, throws them together and it is a match made in heaven. The chemistry is electric between Chase and Jessie. Such a fun book. I would highly recommend. Also there is a bonus recipe at the end. Whats not to love?!

Emotions rode high in this quirky, romantic adventure-of-the-heart. It was sometimes torchure to be so close to the characters, but to be unable to talk, or knock, some sense into them, but in the end it worked out in the loveliest way possible. A fun read!

This was such a fun read I laughed myself silly as Chase’s cousin sets him up to get married in a make believe wedding only it isn’t and they find out they are truly married. You have to give it to the cousin she made it as real as she possible could, from inviting family and bring in a preacher. What really made this a win win for me was the cousin and the best friend who went out of their way to keep them together making sure they had little choice but to get to know each other.

Jessie is such a sweet almost to sweet character that pretty much lets everyone walk over her. My heart really went out to her but at the same time I wanted to shake her for taking everything on the chin. Her best friend is a delight she adds a lot of fun to the story. Chase is really down to earth but come off for the show of being women chaser to a point. Once he finds his self married he does stay true and puts other in their place. The wedding was wonderful having Chase dodge those kissing lips of other women so funny.

I loved the cat and how Chase couldn’t seem to get his name right, it was the height of the story to see what name he would come up with next. He has issues with the little thing but his best friends soon fall head over heels for the fur ball. The attraction between these two is strong they fight so hard to keep their hands off each other in this delightful clean romance. It is well written with wonderful characters that were easy to relate to. I was lost from page one, reading this at one setting. I loved the characters and the messes they get into, it was a fun, interesting, spellbound as these two butt heads trying to find a way to stay and walk away. There is a little drama, confusion, good times along with a few sad. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. The author really put a lot of thought into making it a wonderful, delightful read that holds your attention why keeping you smiling. What a way to bring in the Christmas cheer getting your ready for the holidays.

So, once I got past the whole accidentally married thing (because really, how is that even possible?) I really enjoyed watching these two dance around each other.  Granted I think a little communication and a little less hiding by either one of them could have fixed things a lot faster but then again where's the fun in that?!? :)

Both Chase and Jessie have a few issues they are still carrying from their childhoods.  Their parents did a good job of ignoring both of them but they somehow managed to make it through pretty well.  Neither seems very confident in people's staying power and that does make it difficult for them to commit to others.  Which definitely leads to some shenanigans when they suddenly find themselves husband and wife.

We spend basically a year with these two, although a good chunk of it is spent apart.  Hatfield pretty much ignores those times but does a great job of showing the two of them fighting their developing feelings when they are together.  They do such a great job of dancing around their feelings, though, that it might get a little old for some toward the end but the payout is definitely worth it!  Once they finally get to a point that they have to do something or lose each other forever, they manage to step up beautifully.

This is my first time to read one of this author's books but I really enjoyed the down home, country feel and salt of the earth characters.  With a good dose of humor and fun, she delivered a wonderfully sweet read that will have me keeping an eye out for her other books.

Quirky?

I'm not normally into cowboy stories, but this one seemed interesting. I liked the fact that both the main characters had interesting jobs. I liked the whole idea of the book. It just seemed a bit too drawn out, for me. Otherwise, was a good read with ibteresting characters.

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

Chasing Christmas is the fifth title in the Rodeo Romance series (Christmas Romances), this time featuring professional bull rider Chase Jarrett and graphic designer Jessie Pierce, who somehow, through a publicity stunt by Chase’s cousin, Ashley, find themselves married for a year. One long year that will be filled with more promise and possibilities for a forever kind of love than either could have imagined… but they first have to get through this year, without destroying that spark between them that began upon their first meeting.

I loved everything about Chasing Christmas by Shanna Hatfield, from Ashley’s outrageous idea of a make-believe marriage to the final gut-wrenching few chapters where the longed-for happy ending finally shows up for Chase and Jessie. Their story easily captured my imagination, the rodeo circuit life felt very real (as do all of Ms Hatfield’s rodeo stories), and Jessie, along with Chase, were true to their characters, oblivious to the growing love each felt for the other but were silent about their feelings. Their personalities were slowly revealed to us, and I especially loved when Jessie left her quiet, calm demeanor (although I adored her reasons for that) and lit into Chase when he did a totally dumb male move. (No offense meant to the general male population, but that really was a totally dimwit action on our hero’s part!) In all, their romance is completely believable, even relatable, between a couple who are often too stubborn to see what is developing right in front of them… hey, just about everyone else knew they were in love long before they acknowledged it!

I had such fun with Chase and Jessie, and if you’re looking for a fun Christmas romance this season, then you’d adore Chasing Christmas by Shanna Hatfield just as much as I did. It’s well-written, emotional, funny, intense, and believable… what more could you ask for?

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

*As a side note, I have read the first four titles in this series years ago, and although I’ve yet to post reviews about them, I intend to. Frankly, I’m going to try to get caught up in this series this Holiday season, and will go back to the earlier books when I’m caught up.

I really loved this story. This is a really good written story by Shanna Hatfield where she really created awesome character and a fun story about two people who never met before have a pretend wedding in Las Vegas during the big rodeo event that takes place every year. This idea was to help Chase’s career as a top Bull Rider.
Chase’s cousin Ashley is his publicist who comes up with weird ideas to promote him and get him more exposure. She comes up with this idea to have drawing for a bride for Chase and they would have a pretend all media event wedding in Vegas. Chase thinks she is crazy and wants nothing to do with this.
He finally agrees when she tells him about the big sponsors he will get and how many will be giving stuff for this wedding which wouldn’t be cheap normally.
Jessica Pierce is a graphics designer and lives in LA.
She gets a call that she won this contest which she didn’t enter but her friend Stacy did it for her.
This story goes from a pretend wedding to but find out it was real as they signed a marriage certificate. This really complicates both Chase’s life and Jessica’s. The have to stay married for a year for Chase to get all his endorsements. Oh and she has to move in with him as there are reporters and photographers around them so they have to make sure it all looks real.
Well, this can really make for some fun and funny and some hard times for both of them and attraction that they aren’t supposed to do anything about as this is a marriage in name only. Boy this makes it so difficult for both but Chase feels with his career that he shouldn’t have a wife with his career.
Well you can image all kinds of different things that can happen with this scenario.
All kinds of fun, hurt, pain, mixed emotions and so much more.
Shanna can really create a twist and turn kind of story and she did in this one.
I absolutely loved this very creative story with some old friends for some of her other stories. It is one that I highly recommend this story to all who love funny, witty, and adventurous romances.

Wow! This is really an emotional book! When Chase Jarrett's cousin/manager sets up a fake marriage for him, I thought of every little thing that could go wrong with that idea....and that is exactly how it turned out! A huge mess! I felt so bad for Jessie being actually married to Chase when she didn't even sign up for the fake marriage in the first place. I really saw a lot of me in Jessie. Quiet, introverted, looking out for others, looking at the best in every situation, she was definitely a catch! Chase didn't take a lot of that into consideration, partly because they had never even met before they were married!
There was definitely a LOT of great chemistry going on between Chase and Jessie. It really is too bad that he had to be on the road so much with the rodeo because they could have worked on their relationship a lot more easily if he had been more present. Of course, that is all part of the storyline! The one thing I was a little disappointed in was how quickly Jessie forgave him after his horrendous verbal blunders at the fashion show! OMG! I totally would have not been able to overlook everything he had said for a long time. Their relationship was definitely worth pursuing, but it almost made her look like a doormat, allowing herself to be humiliated and so quickly taking him back when he apologized. That is the reason for taking away half of a star on my rating.
I received an ARC from the author but that in no way influenced my opinions in this review.

I really enjoyed reading Chasing Christmas by Shanna Hatfield. I am so glad that I came across the book on my Kindle this Saturday evening. I had not read a western lately, and this one was about a rodeo, which I do not recall ever reading about. I had just finished reading another book by Shanna Hatfield and everything just fell into place.

The book is the story of a young woman who met a Rodeo participant and even though she had never been interested in rodeos before, she went with a friend and discovered that she enjoyed the sport. One of the riders that day noticed her in the grandstand and made sure he met her and they got acquainted. She was
only in town for a few days, but they did meet and began what was to become a great friendship. She went to all of his races and they learned more about one another after each race. They quickly became friends even though she would have to return to her hometown soon.

This book is the story of how their friendship began. She attended all of his rodeo events. Their interest in one another grew and they began planning a life together. Such a sweet little romance!

Professional bull rider Chase Jarrett didn't ask Santa for a bride, but with his nosy cousin’s nonstop nagging about his need for more publicity, he finds himself in an accidentally marriage. Thanks to a meddling so-called best friend, Jessie Pierce, shy and introverted and hates the spotlight, thinks she is going to Las Vegas for an all expense paid vacation, finds herself the bride in a fake publicity wedding. Imagine their surprise when they discover the wedding was real. His sponsors are demanding he remain married, and a business proposal leaves the two of them committed to a year of marriage. Can they remain wed in name only for a year? This is a sweet lighthearted holiday western romance and book 5 in the Rodeo Romance Series.

It was more a publicity for his rodeo career and not a real marriage only on paper. Their marriage was supposed to last a year and they would go their separate ways. But fate had other ideas as they fell in love but neither would admit it.

Chase Jarrett who is a professional bull rider whose family thinks he need more publicity for endorsements, he finds himself at a fake Vegas wedding that he soon finds marrying the bride though he originally thought it was not real. The sponsors do not want to him to get a divorce.

Jessie Pierce is someone who is shy and does not like the spotlight. She thought she won a vacation in Vegas when her meddling friend entered her in a contest. She had no idea it would involve her getting married for a publicity stunt.

What will happen when they spend more time together? Can they stay together for a year or will they want more? Charming story.

I don't even know where to start! I absolutely fell in love with this book. It's sweet, romantic, had me laughing out loud several times and gasping at others. I love stories about marriage of convenience, so I was excited to pick this one up. Shanna Hatfield didn't disappoint. Jessie is strong and independent, and has been through a lot. Chase is...how do I say this, swoon-worthy! He's sweet and caring and also a little stubborn, but it all adds to his charm. I loved the story. It's well paced and let's you get to know the characters. I've always loved bull riding as well so that aspect drew me into the story. I can't say enough good things about this book. This author knows how to draw you into the story in a way that you really don't want to come up for air and put the book down. Loved it. Pick it up, read it, you won't be disappointed. Thanks to the author for another fabulous book!

I think this might be my favorite Shanna Hatfield book so far for me, I just loved every page. This Christmas book is about a Cowboy who accidentally found himself married just before Christmas. It’s a very sweet read and the Author has given us an emotional roller coaster ride between these two great characters. It was only a publicity wedding for the rodeo rider Chase Jarrett to the winner of the competition Jessie Pierce, which was run by his PA/ Cousin. She was entered by her friend and talk into going along for the free weekend is Los Vegas. What could possibly go wrong with a free trip? I received an ARC copy of this book and have voluntary and honestly written this review in which I would highly recommend this book for a heart-warming and enjoyable read.

Publicity wedding?

I absolutely love anything this lady writes. Whether she's in a contemporary frame of mind, or historical western mode, the results are always right on point.
Chase and Jessie had no intentions of pursuing anything other than their respective careers. Who had time for role playing and angst that goes with a relationship. Jessie had a promising career as a graphic designer. Chase is chasing a championship in the bull riding arena. Why they agreed to a fake wedding as a publicity stunt is anyone's guess. Laugh and cry with them as they struggle to remain married in name only for the sake of sponsorships and promotional income. Will it be too late when they finally break down and admit what everyone already knows?
Personally, I would love to see cousin Ashley and bestie Stacy find their own for ever after. Hint, hint Shanna.

Yes, yes, yes! Thank you Shanna for another great rodeo romance read... each book in the series is a unique and creative story; the romance is crazy, fun, and difficult; the rodeo friends are friends for life, characters from previous rodeo books are a part of the drama; and the rodeo comes alive in you mind, even if you've never been a spectator to bull riding. To enjoy this book you don't need to have read the previous books in the series and yet your going to want to because the stories are that good. I was given the opportunity to review this book prior to release date by the author for my honest opinion.

Rodeo Romance Book 5 was a Very Fun Christmas Story. It reads great as a Stand Alone also. Chase Jarrett's cousin convinces him to do a publicity stunt to boost his popularity and sponsors. What was supposed to be a fake marriage to Jessie Pierce, who thought she won an all-expenses paid vacation to Las Vegas turns out to be life changing for all involved. Grab a copy and settle in for a great read by a great author, Mrs. Shanna Hatfield. I always enjoy reading her Clean (mostly Western) Romance books.
I was given an ARC of this book to read. I was not asked or compensated in any way to review this book.

Unconventional Marriage!

Chasing Christmas: It was an interesting way to get sponsored for Chase. I'm glad that when Ashley the right candidate that it was someone that didn't know who Chase was and what he did for a living. I liked that Jessie was a special person and very creative. Jessie was the right female to take Chase as well as enjoy being on a ranch. It got her creativity going as well as for her out her comfort zone. I like how his reaction to get was the same reaction to him. They were the perfect match. I really enjoyed Chase and Jessie and the challenges they went through For a year.

Honestly, I really liked this book until the last two chapters. What Chase did at the end…eugh… I just wished he’d explained himself on the stage and said he loved her there and then.

Jessie forgave him far too easily for what he did to her, and I would’ve loved to see how they were doing a year later like all the other books - but this one ended so abruptly that it just felt weird.

I did kind of love how much they loved each other throughout the book but didn’t think the other loved them. But Chase was too hard headed, and Jessie is too much like myself to know that she shouldn’t have forgiven him that easily.

I have received an advanced reader copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Absolutely loved Chase and Jessie's story. Chase is a rodeo bull rider. When his cousin sets up a publicity stunt of marriage for the day with Jessie things don't go as planned. They quickly find out that the wedding is very much real and if they stayed together for a year it would potentially benefit them both. Such a beautiful romance story set around the holidays.

Once again Shanna Hatfield created a story I could get lost in because I felt part of it. I was swooped up into a bull-riding cowboy (what’s not to love there) and a timid, yet strong woman I️ could only admire. It was great reading about some other characters and having just an awesome love story that held its own merit without the necessity of putting in hours of needless, tasteless, love scenes. This story made my heart soar from the characters. Loved it!

Shanna Hatfield has done it again!

Shanna Hatfield has written another wonderful story full of characters that you will care deeply for. This story has me feeling all emotions including laughing out loud, sobbing in some parts & talking to the characters ( at one point saying what are you thinking to one of the main characters. Later to say it's about time you figured it out). My husband said your book can't hear you.

Shanna does it again. I have yet to read one of her stories that I haven't enjoyed. They are so well written.
I also love the humour in them. I don't know how she thinks up all the funny name's for the animal's. My hubby looks at me like I am mad because I keep laughing.
This story like all the rest of her books is really worth reading. I can't recommend them enough.
I am of to read another of her lovely story's.

I listened to the audible version Narrated by: Luke Andreen. If you haven't listened to any of the audiobooks that he has narrated, you are missing out. I love how he brings Shanna's characters to life.

This was a charming story about a shy introvert, Jessie and clueless, Chase.

Jessie was so lovely. I fell in love with her immediately. It was also great to revisit beloved characters from previous books.

Okay, I really doubt any romance reader is going to be surprised that Ashley’s planned fake wedding of Chase and Jessie doesn’t go as planned. Shanna Hatfield has a wicked sense of humor with all the ways they are convinced they will have the marriage annulled at the end of a year. I was in stitches with tears coming down my cheeks when Chase totally disintegrates at the party. Plenty of romance, humor and romance in this book. I loved it.
