Christmas Amnesia is the third book in Laura Scott's Callahan series. There were two main reasons why this book made it on my TBR: (1) the story deals with amnesia (one of my favorite storylines) and (2) I have been loving this series about the Callahan family. I'm very happy to say it did not disappoint.

The story started off intense.  I was drawn into the book easily and found myself wondering who attacked Maddy and why. Was it the obvious or something else? I loved how the romance grew... it was so sweet and the ending was perfect.

All in all,  I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas Amnesia and recommend it.

Maddy Callahan has always been a tough person, the youngest of 6 children, the only girl, surrounded by law enforcement her whole life. Her job has now threatened her life and the lives of her family. Her biggest battle is to regain her memory and start the trail of one of the biggest crime leaders.

Noah Sinclair is trying to protect Maddy’s life. He feels guilt from not being able to protect her brother like he should have. So many people in Noah’s life have been touch by life’s ugliness; he longs to see the drug-runners brought to justice.

Maddy and Noah have been working together in the worst possible case, bullets are flying, memories are lost, and partners are being deceiving. . Maddy and Noah have been linked together for some time, and are now starting to have romantic interests in each other. Ms. Scott has built her characters around a plot that requires the readers’ full attention. The plot keep the story rolling along easily enough, the romance doesn’t really bloom until the last chapter. I did not really connect with any of the characters and had hoped for more romance. If a reader is looking for a novel with more suspense and a little less romance and Christmas holiday, Christmas Amnesia is for you.

"Christmas Amnesia" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the third in a series, but you can understand this book without reading the previous ones.

The suspense came from the bad guys constantly attacking the heroine and the chance that the drug trafficker would not be found guilty if the heroine didn't regain her memory. I was pleased that the amnesia only lasted long enough for Madison to get to know Noah and to start trusting men again. I enjoyed watching her in a more proactive mode--trying to save her case and stop the bad guys--after regaining her memory. I enjoyed the main characters.

The Christian element mainly involved some prayers at mealtimes and when in danger. They also talked about forgiving yourself and others. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this suspenseful novel.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

This is a good standalone suspenseful romance. An assistant district attorney is attacked and suffers some memory loss. An officer of the Miluwalkee PD is assigned to protect her and this involves a cabin in the snowy woods, a boat ride on a wintry lake Michigan and more such scenes.

The author seems to be having a fine time writing these exploits and throwing hardships at her characters, but it's also a gently inspirational tale, meaning no strong language or adult activity.

I downloaded an e-ARC from Net Galley and Fresh Fiction. This is an unbiased review.

When Madison loses her memory on the eve of one of her biggest cases, her old friend, Noah takes charge of her recover. He is a police officer but not in great standing with the family due to past history. Even with that thwarting him mentally, he knows he has to keep Madison safe.

This story was good and it keeps your interest until the end. It is also a fast read if you are looking for something to read through in an afternoon. The Love Inspired Suspense has never disappointed me yet. Try it out for yourself.

This is book three in the Callahan Confidential series, however it is a stand alone book. I have read all three and would encourage you to do the same for they are all great books. They all focus on the Callahan family, yet you do not have to read the first two to be able to understand anything in this one. They are all written in order yet each is a stand alone book as well.

Laura Scott does a great job of grabbing your attention and keeping it throughout her books. This book is full of mystery, suspense, romance and more.

This novel focuses on Madison Callahan. She is the only sister to five brothers and is a strong and determined woman. Maddy is an ADA on a very important trial. When her life is threatened she must learn to lean on the one man she has a problem forgiving.

Noah Sinclair, the handsome police man, can not believe it is Maddy who was attacked and has lost her memory. When he must step in and protect her will he fail her as he thinks he has others or will he be in danger of more than just his heart?

I really liked this one. ADA Madison Callahan is a strong woman. I liked that even after everything she went through, she wasn't weak and submissive. At the start, once she is attacked and loses her memory, I was heartbroken for her. When Noah came in to take her statement and recognized her, I was hoping there would be a spark and instant memory return. The guilt Noah feels for his past tugged at my heart.
I loved the Callahan family. They are so close and strong. I had read the other books in this series so it was good to catch up with some and see where life had taken them. The part that I probably loved the most was even with no memory, Madison had an instinct to pray. There were times throughout that I so bad wanted to yell at them to change a decision they were making but overall, it was a good book.
It was a 4/5. I enjoyed the story.

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book (via netgalley). I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Madison is a attorney working on getting a high-profile drug trafficker to trial to put him behind bars. The trail date is getting closer and she finally thinks shes got enough to take him down. After a late night at work she was attacked leading her to get amnesia. Noah was set to question Madison but after a series of mishaps that lead them to thinking someone might really be after to kill her maybe to even stop her from working on the case to bring that drug trafficker down.

From beginning end this book will leave you feeling whiplash from the amount of action that goes on this book. Just when you think things are going to be good for at least a moment something happens and I loved that about this book. I loved that this book keeps the readers on their toes and entertained till the very end. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.

Action and suspense

If you like action and suspense this is the book for you. This book has it all, death threats, car chases, bombs, dirty cops, attempted murder, I think I got it all. The Callahan's are awesome, being an only child I am really enjoying the Callahan siblings. Glad that Noah learned to forgive himself for what happened to his sister and his ex-girlfriend. There are things that happen in life that we have no control over we need to trust in God that he is working it out for our Good. Even though it may be hard at that time. 😇

This book was pretty good although it wasn't my favourite mostly for the fact that Maddy had amnesia and basically nobody in her family was told. I get that they were running from bad guys but seriously this is a really big thing you need to tell her family. Even when the family was told there wasn't enough of a reaction. The hospital should have let her family know as soon as Noah identified her.
Other wise it was a pretty good mystery and the romance wasn't bad either.

Amnesia is something I'm sure we all would prefer to not experience. Join Madison Callahan as she treads these muddy waters with someone trying to kill her for a reason she can't even remember. Those you thought were trustworthy might not be, and some you don't want to trust, you must in order to save your life. A great way to spend your afternoon - at the edge of your seat!

With the riveting, mortal action the story snatched my attention immediately, and it was impossible to put the book down until the very satisfying and sweet ending to the compelling story.
I love how the author mixes the three elements in the story, the suspense, the romance, and faith in God the characters live by. The tale has a natural flow, all the details are well bound together, fitting with each other like pieces of a puzzle.
Officer Noah Sinclair lives with guilt and regrets. He is capable, take charge police officer, yet he has a tender soul that easily assumes the liability and responsibility when things go wrong. He has passion and dedication to his work but will go to great lengths to avoid personal relationships to avoid hurt and disappointment. I liked Noah, he is sincere, kind, considerate man earnestly looking for peace of mind. He struggles with his remorse and with his faith making him human and easy to relate to.
Assistant district attorney Madison Callahan is in danger of her life and suffering from a temporary amnesia after an attack. With threats, assaults, and attempts to her life coming at her continuously, the only time she feels safe and secure is with Noah. Madison is a fun, determined, and capable woman. She knows who she is, what she is able to, and what she has to offer. Her guiding light in life is her unwavering faith in God and she is not ashamed to show it. Her direct approach with everything in life was endearing and challenging at the same time. She is the type of woman most of us aim to be and I liked her immensely.
To balance the need to stay safe, to stay alive, and continue the prosecution of the dangerous drug dealer and the investigation of the recent attacks, Noah and Madison go into hiding, giving them ample time to get to know each other better and find a unique, treasured connection and bond, counsel each other with the matters of life, loss, and faith, doubts and uncertainties they feel and face. I found their conversations to be encouraging and inspirational, the wisdom they shared with each other easy to apply to life in general.
The story leads with enthralling and lethal action and threats, with the constant risk of menace and peril. Yet the sweet, adorable, and heartwarming romance edges in and takes the point before long. The characters faith in God and in His guidance, helps them navigate the hazardous risks and deception they face while fighting for justice and for their lives. Loved every moment of it!

Christmas Amnesia: Callahan Confidential, Book 3 is by Laura Scott. This book is great and is full of suspense. She talks about how far a criminal will go to avoid being brought to trial and how many people will be hurt to keep the trial from starting.
Assistant District Attorney Madison Callahan left her office after a very long day. Instead of walking home, she decided to call a cab. Before she would talk to them, she was attacked. Her attacker told her that her Mother and Grandmother were in danger if she didn’t drop the case. When a car came up, he threw her to the ground and ran. When she fell, she hit her head against a pole. When she woke up, she was in the hospital but had no idea who she was or what had happened to her. Her rescuer, Office Noah Sinclair was there when she woke up. He had stayed because he felt guilty that He had caused her brother to be stabbed by a suspect prior to this. When it became apparent she couldn’t remember anything, He vowed to stay with her until he could turn her over to her brother, Matt. At her apartment, someone tried breaking in so once more they left.
How long can they run before being caught? Why do they want her? Can he keep her alive to go to trial?

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Christmas Amnesia. This is the third book in the Callahan Confidential Series. I have really enjoyed this series and this book is excellent addition. I look forward to the next, at least I hope there is a next. This book is well written, full of adventure, and fast paced, it is one that is hard to put down.

Assistant District Attorney Madison Callahan is assaulted a week before a big trial. The head trauma causes amnesia and she is unable to recall what happened to her, only that a good looking police officer saved her life. She is drawn to the man as he helps her understand who she is and what is going on.

Police Officer Noah Sinclair is determined to protect Maddy and help her get her memory back even knowing that once she knows who he is she won't want anything to do with him. It was his fault her brother, his ex-partner was injured and almost died. He knows she blames him. Can he keep her safe, find the killer, and not lose his heart again?

A journey of two lost souls who are meant to be together. God has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, a hope and a future. Give Him your heart, trust Him with all your problems, and watch Him work in your life.

4 1/2 STARS!

Terror on the run! The next book in Laura Scott's Callahan Confidential series is Maddy's story. It's fast paced and filled with non-stop danger and intrigue from beginning to end. The characters are well developed and even if you haven't read the previous books in the series, you will find yourself able to follow along without a problem.

Assistant District Attorney Madison Callahan is on the verge of starting the biggest case of her career to put a major drug runner away for a long time when she's attacked and left for dead. She wakes up with a major case of amnesia and even though she doesn't recognize him, she manages to wind up with her brother's former partner, police officer Noah Sinclair at her side.

Noah still feels major guilt over the hesitation on his part that left her brother injured back when they were partners so he knows if she did recognize him she would not accept any help from him ... but he can't stand by and do nothing when it seems every time she turns around she's in danger again. Too many things are going on for this to be a coincidence and he will do anything to keep her safe long enough to make it to that trial!

Christmas amnesia is about poor well at the beginning you don't see her as poor – she is as hard as stone – because she is a prosecutor – she's made herself that way against poor sweet officer Noah Sinclair -Madison was she was working on a very serious case and I won't tell you what it's about . Then something severely seriously twisted happened to her when she left for the night . She woke up in the hospital seeing the doctor and Noah – whom she normally cannot stand for a serious reason – but she was sweet and can't remember anything and Noah makes a vow he will not leave her side till they find who did this to her, until he knows she is safe, until his heart knows she's safe well I can't say the rest but he is in love with her and will this sweet prosecutor love him back and if she does love him back when she remembers will she still love him or will she go back to hating him for what he did ? I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all the opinions in this review are all my own.

Action packed from start to finish!

Maddy is leaving. The courthouse late one evening, when she is mugged and left out front. When she wakes up, she can't remember anything including her name. Fortunately, the investigating officer, Noah, recognizes her. But how can they investigate when she can't remember, but someone keeps attacking them. Can they figure things out in time to put a really bad man into jail, or is he going to manage to end the trial before it starts? Read this to see what happens!

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some kissing but no steam. The characters are vivid and kickass. The Christian values are woven into the story and not just tacked on. This series is great for those who like their Christian romances with lots of , as well as twists and turns. Read these in order to get the most out of this series. Enjoy!

Siblings to the rescue

Maddy's story is my favorite so far. The youngest of the Callahan's and the only girl means her 5 older brothers protect her, especially her twin (older by mere minutes), Matt.

As an ADA, she's working on a major case involving a high level drug lord. When she's attacked one night leaving work, Nick, her twin's former partner on the police department comes to her rescue. The suspense and intrigue begins just as Maddy loses her memory after the assault.

A great addition to the series. I can't wait for the next book!

Based on the title and cover, I expected a cozy-ish Christmas thriller about a woman with amnesia hiding out in a cabin. That’s not what this story delivered. Instead, the plot focused on two people constantly on the run, jumping from one dangerous and often unrealistic situation to another. The Christmas atmosphere was minimal and felt more like an afterthought than a setting. That said, I did appreciate the faith-based elements woven into the story, which ended up being the strongest part for me.

I loved this Christmas suspense! And the suspense began right away and didn't let up! Someone is after Maddy Callahan and her protector when she loses her memory is none other than her brother's old partner who she blames for her brother's injury. But she can't remember that and only knows he can be trusted! And Maddy has no one else to trust! This was a suspenseful Christmas read that I couldn't put down!

Great book! The Assistant district attorney Maidson is attacked and unable to identify her attacker, much less anyone else. Officer Noah saves her life several times. Madison regains her memory when she sees her twin brother. I liked the story and how these two would pray in restaurants before their meals.

I have enjoyed several books by Laura Scott, and this novel is another to add to my list. The plot is full of action, twists, and turns. The main characters are smart and tenacious. The story itself is well-written. I will be looking for other books in this series.

As far as category romance goes this was fine. The author is the one with the amnesia so she tacked on the Christmas Eve epilogue to make it feel Christmasy. I think the story could have taken place any time of year. Not what I was looking for when I picked this up in December.
