This is a series I've been following from the very beginning and one I would highly recommend reading in order. You just won't get the back history and relationships if you jump ahead. So, for your own reading enjoyment, read this series in order! :)
The first book in this series begins with the meeting and courtship of Chloe and Jason. It had more romantic feel but as the series progresses, it's less about their relationship and more about other circumstances that arise and family relationships, always with a bit of suspense and mystery thrown in.
In this book, Chloe is on set with Jason and pregnant with her first child. Bad things start happening back home and Chloe feels the pull to get there to help. Chloe holds a lot of guilt over the way her personal life has overflowed to the people around her that she cares about. She is always trying to protect and save. I love that Chloe is smart and has such a deep rooted sense of loyalty to those close to her. Chloe is an awesome friend.
This book felt more like a mystery to me. The suspense wasn't as prominent in this book although there is a definite build up to the end events. I didn't really have a clue as to what was really happening and I was learning things right along with the characters for the whole book. It made me feel like I was a part of the book- not knowing more or less than the characters.
I have enjoyed every book in this series and the natural progression and continuation I've felt from the stories. Every time I come back to this series I feel like I'm meeting up with old friends which is exactly what I want as a reader. If you haven't read anything from this author or series, you should!! This is a fun one!

I received a copy of this book from WordSmith Publicity as part of a promotional tour. All opinions expressed are my own.
I flove this series! Ive loved this one ever since I read the first book - Someone Else's Fairytale.
Chloe and Jason have been my favorite couple! My favorite part about this series is that it even though its starts off as a Hollywood romance it has mystery, suspense and action mixed in.
I had loved the way Chloe and Jason's relationship slowly progressed and he got her to open up.She's had a difficult childhood and faces a lot in this series from paparazzi to serial killers and death threats. She's finally managed to settle into her life and accept it, but she faces many new challenges.
I really like reading about Chloe's work in forensics as its very fascinating and the author has portrayed it in a realistic manner. Unlike the TV shows, we see the truth, the emotional and the gritty parts here. It isn't as easy and as simple as a lab test.. It could take a lot of time and involves patience.
In this book, we have Chloe's BFF - Lori who's getting married! But her half-brother Chris is back and he's stalking Lori. Even though Chloe wishes nothing but to put him behind bars, the police don't have enough evidence to do so. So she takes it upon herself to investigate and gather evidence, before he becomes a bigger threat!
I dont want to give any spoilers away, but I loved how Chloe went about things in this one! She's clever, cautious and loyal to a fault. We've seen her character undergo so mucb development since book one and its been amazing to read about. Her and Jason's relationship has also evolved in so many ways. I just wish we got to see more of Jason and his involvement in this one. But he's such a supportive partner!
I had so much fun reading this one and meeting all these characters back again!Hope we get to read many more installments like these and if you haven't read this series yet, what are yoy waiting for? Honestly, you are missing out on so much!! <3
1) Nicht mein Märchen (Buch 1) 2)Prinzessin in Not (Buch 2) 3) Break it Up (Spin-off) 4) A Safe Space (Spin-off) 5) Jagd nach dem großen bösen Wolf (Buch 3) 6) Das tapfere Schwesterlein (Buch 4) 7) In guten wie in schlechten Zeiten (Buch 5)
Fifth book in the series, and given to me as an ARC as part of the author's mailing list. I enjoyed it, but not so much as some of the other books in the series.
Plot Chloe's pregnant, about six months along. Her friend Lori is getting married. But meanwhile her half-brother Chris (who shot her when she was a child and is newly out of jail) has started harassing her and Lori, claiming he needs her help and her connections with the police because someone is trying to kill him.
Things I Liked -Chloe's attitude towards her baby, though not a dominant element of the book, is nice--she sees the baby as already a person and refers to her as a "her", occasionally commenting on whether the baby seems to be asleep or lively. She has support from her friends and family on her pregnancy too. -As always, Tippetts' attitude towards crime and towards violence is very no-nonsense, acknowledging that most crime comes from angry, selfish people making bad choices, not from criminal masterminds or complex motivations. I guess you'd call that "the banality of evil", and while I like my criminal masterminds at times it's good to see a more realistic view of what causes pain and violence, especially with the state the country is in right now. -Last half of the book had some very exciting moments, even . I enjoyed the ratcheted tension towards the end a lot. -Dr. Winters has become less someone we hate and more someone we are annoyed by. Perhaps Chloe will someday have a good relationship with him. Probably not, but at least we now see him as human.
Things I Did Not Like So Much -First half of the book is very, very slow. We spend a lot of time chasing the red herring that Chris isn't actually being targeted, when it's pretty obvious he is. I mean, you can't blame Chloe for thinking he's lying, but as a reader you know he's telling the truth because come on, man. He's already been the antagonist for two separate books. There was no way he'd be the real antagonist for this one. -Chloe managing the lives of everyone around her begins to be tiring. We're hearing about Lori getting married and Chloe's mom going on dates and Jason having a career etc but only through the lens of how these things affects Chloe, and I think to me her balancing act of managing all these people's lives is getting a bit tiring. I'd rather see the points of view of other characters. Unfortunately the main series is based off Chloe's POV, so...can't really be helped.
Overall I loved the second half but it did start slowly. I think this series is starting to wind down, but I'm still going to read the side stories I haven't touched yet (no Chloe POV on those) and I'm looking forward to new stories from Tippetts--I hear her next book will be something completely different. Series recommended, but don't start here, start at the beginning and work your way down.

Lori is a champ. Out of wedlock motherhood, working in research using her mathematics degree, making strides towards her masters degree - and Charles her now fiancé fitting somewhere in the picture, as he continues to get his teaching credentials and substitute teaches in the interim.
Chloe tried to keep up with her bestie and her matron of honor duties- all while keeping Jason company as he shoots in Iceland.
Throw in craziness with the stalker half brother to Chloe and future monsters in law- not fun lead up to the wedding.
What is the deal with crazy future moms in law? Suddenly the bride is a threat to keeping them away from baby boy, who should really man up by now. Is alienating her really supposed to accomplish anything good? Lori and her Charles share a son. Wife or not, they will always be connected. For the sake of the child, would the best choice be neutrality at least?
An emotion and power packed psychological thriller!

This being the 5th book in it's series, answers questions we have been waiting for, yet leaves us with a new round of questions by the end. Which leaves us with hopefully book number 6 in the wings. Still the main focus is on keeping Chloe safe from her brother Chris who now is the focus of murder and stalking. Chloe is still as tough as ever, and will put her life and her unborn baby's life in a bit of peril by the end of this book. Friendship is the root of this story. How far will Chloe go to keep her best friend and her wedding safe? All of the characters are strong in their own right. I know I want their a happily ever after. I'm ready!
I have enjoyed each book in this series and always look forward to the next! The relationship between Chloe and Jason is inspirational. The story line is interesting and exciting. I like that there are two parts to the story--the personal side and the mystery. The relationships between Chloe and her friends and family are interesting and important to the story, too. Recommend.
Sigh. I miss Jason. I had a bit of a hard time getting into this story. I absolutely loved the first one in the series, which is why I wanted to read all the others after it but I just haven't loved any of the stories that followed the original. I really, really wanted to, I just didn't feel connected to the story. It was okay.
Now we got some mystery to go along with Chloe and Jason's story. You need to read this series in order as each book continues Jason and Chloe's story. Now we have more drama with Chloe's brother and she is again the middle of it trying to solve it. It kept me riveted to the pages.

This is such a great series. I love Chloe and Jason and though a romantic love story, this series is so much more. The story is so compelling, I cannot put it down and cannot wait to start the next book in the series. None of these books have disappointed me.

Yup, I'm hooked. I raced through the first four and immediately bought #5. I cheered at the end when I saw a notice that there is going to be a 6th book. I'm very attached to Chloe and her family now. I cannot wait to see what adventures they face next.
Ok. I was hoping that this would be the last of the series but apparently not. I'm not sure there's enough to these characters to string out indefinitely, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong. More Angst and a li' sex would help....
This is more Chloe and Jason than the last two books. Really well written. Lori has a stalker, she's trying to plan her wedding and ger in laws are horrid. Chloe is on hand especially as the stalker is Chris. Chloe's brother.
Another great book! Chloe and Jason are so dynamic. I love seeing their growth as individuals and as partners. I always like the suspense these books incorporate
My goodness, I love the cover to this book. It perfectly captures the personalities of calm and stoic Chloe and bubbly Lori. The story itself is an excellent entry into the Someone Else's Fairytale series, providing layers to the mystery surrounding Chris and wrapping it up fairly well, with a villain who was unexpected, but absolutely made sense in the context of the story. And that villain was downright freaky.
As with the last couple of books, most especially My Wicked Half-Sister, the story relies heavily on dialogue to move forward. Personally, I don't find this appealing--I want action!--but it doesn't take away from the plot.
I really enjoyed Lori's musings on "happily ever after" versus "whatever after"--basically, the difference between movie endings and real life. In real life, the happy couple has to recommit to choosing to love each other all the time. Movies are one-and-done. But I digress. The book made me hungry for a good chili and wrapped up well. I really enjoyed it.
I have a weird love for this series. I say 'weird' because the structure of these books is quite different to what I usually read. But maybe it's the fact that Chloe is forensic scientist or Jason seems like someone you would meet in real life, I've fallen in love with these books. I wished we wouldn't have another Chris storyline, because that guy is seriously annoying, but we did. Like the last two books, it was more action/ crime themed rather than the romance direction I prefer. I will say I wish there was a side-plot that involved Jason a little more, it just felt like he'd been cast aside when he's one of my favourite characters. All in all, this felt more well- rounded than HFBBW, and it was nice to see characters like Lori and Dina a little more fleshed out, but I fell in love with this series because of the whole Hollywood/ famous thing and we didn't get any of that. Also I miss Jason's family. A lot. Especially Jen.
The latest installment of the Someone Else's Fairytale series this one is continues the story of Chloe & Jason and is another enjoyable, suspenseful rollercoaster of a plot with realistic characters and a few surprising twists. This review was originally posted on Books In Brogan
