Yato has said that whatever a god does is right, but when a god is at war with the heavens, who is right? The god or the heavens? I've always had trouble understanding what Yato means when he basically says that gods can do anything they want. I've also struggled to see what benefits a shinki receives for serving his god, seeming to me that shinki bear the brunt of the consequences of their god's selfish and/or thoughtless actions as in the case of Takemikazuchi with little say in the matter. All of this comes to a head in this volume where Yato confronts the heavens head-on and the result is devastating and ends on perhaps the worst cliffhanger yet in this story.
I also gave myself a crash course of shinto deity. I'm familiar with some, not so much with others, and in Noragami there is so much more nuance with a little background in shintoism, so it was time to read up on more than just the seven gods of fortune.
Noragami continues to amaze, and with this volume, I see how much I missed in earlier volumes. So, while I await the long months until the next release (made even longer by an unexpected and indeterminate hiatus as one of the creator-duo of Adachitoka recovers from some unspecified illness) I'll be rereading this series.
And lastly, poor poor Yukine. This series gets dark - darker than I thought possible if I went by the first few chapters way back in volume 1 - going beyond abuse to something even worse. Yukine...

So powerful, so amazing. The last chapter literally made me tear up. Best volume of Noragami so far. Tenjin, Ebisu, Daikoku, you have my utmost love and respect.
R.I.P. to the beautiful, elegant, wise and loyal Mayu....you’ll be missed. 😔🌸

I was gritting my teeth so hard when I read this volume. The excitement about Bishamon's fate was tooo much. Then at the end..

I don't if I missed something somehow, but this volume didn't seem to make a ton of sense or advance the larger story much, except in emphasizing how the Heavens are stupid and unfair (already obvious).
The Epic Battle has been going on much too long for my taste. I preferred the smaller scale stories with Iki and Yato and Yukine and the gods of poverty hanging out together. It's not fun when they're all apart for so long.

Y ha concluido el arco más excitante y lleno de acción que hasta los momentos ha tenido Noragami. Me fascinó cada capítulo y lo que ello implicó (la rebelión de Viina por amor a su subordinados, la lealtad a los amigos por parte de Yato (y viceversa), la lealtad de Yukine hacia Yato, la implacabilidad de los cielos, etc...), me hubiera gustado que se explicaran algunas cositas en particular (que me tienen en vilo desde hace algunos volúmenes) pese a que se explicaron bastante cosas, pero eso supongo que lo veré en el próximo volumen. Sin duda sigo recomendando al 100% esta historia.

as always, this volume was superb. the action scenes were successfully and beautifully drawn and i love how the importance of the shinki was once again emphasized here. there are so many layers to the god-shinki relationship and it's amazing to see how different gods value their shinki and vice versa.
i need a third anime season!!! bisha and yato action scenes deserve to be animated COME ON

Yato ha logrado derrotar a Takemikazuchii y ahora exigue que el dios hablé al cielo a favor de Bishamon quien sigue peleando con los demás dioses para que la pena de muerte sea obsoleta. Pero la gente del cielo no está muy contenta por las acciones de Yato y Bishamon y se negaran a escuchar cualquier cosa que no tenga que ver con la muerte de los dos dioses, por eso es que desatan todo el poder de los cielos y al final logran capturar a Yato y a Yukine quienes han partido al cielo a la mitad.
Padre... ya acepté mi destino.
Este tomo ha sido de verdad CARDÍACO. No les miento para nada al decirles que hasta ahora este décimo octavo tomo ha sido el más intenso, el que más me hecho sufrir y jalarme los pelos.
Pero dejen les explico un poco, en la reseña del tomo pasado les volví a contar un poco acerca de las shinkis y el lazo que los une a sus dioses, pues en este tomo ese lazo se vuelve importantísimo pues veremos en forma de flashback como Bishamon y Kazuma llegaron a ser tan unidos y porque ambos arriesgaría todo con tal de salvarse mutuamente. Estos pequeños flashback me encantaron porque nos permitió ver lo que pasó tras la muerte de las primeras shinkis de Bishamon.
Además de eso, seguimos sumergidos en una batalla de verdad caótica donde todo el cielo va contra Yato y Bishamon y entre esa batalla está el padre de Yato quién es el único objetivo de Bishamon, así que obviamente la diosa lo encuentra y cuando está apunto de matarlo... debo confesar que en este punto grité un poco pues recordemos que el único lazo que une a Yato con la tierra es su padre y si este muere el destino del dios será el mismo. Al final del tomo Yato y Yukine son capturados. Yato es sentenciado a muerte y Yukine a la inmortalidad, un castigo que consiste en vivir encerrado en un pequeño cuadrado por toda la eternidad. Pero la sentencia no es definitiva y gracias a sus amigos Yato tiene una oportunidad de un juicio que en realidad es más que nada un juego al azar que involucra la vida de las shinkis. Y aquí de nuevo volveremos a ver cómo para algunos dioses estás armas divinas que los protegen no son más que meras piezas que usan para su beneficio mientras que para algunos, son más que eso, son su familia. Y el final... por Yato-Sama, necesito el tomo diecinueve en mis manos ya.

Qué bueno que Yato derrotó a Take porque ese cñor no merece su Shinki tan buena. Kiun deserves better. En fin, que su pelea no tiene nada contento al cielo porque además Bisha y su Shinki ya partieron el cielo (literal) y todo está en caos allá arriba.
Amaterasu se pasó con su castigo hacia Yukine, la vdd. Si quiera escúchelos, cñora. Y pues qué choto que las túnicas le den la libertad al padre de Yato para hacer y deshacer porque "ay quien sabe quién está debajo". ALGUIEN DETÉNGALO YA.
Por otro lado, mi Kazuma bebé anda muy desesperado tratando de salvar a Bisha y nada mal con eso pero a veces el fin no justifica el medio y más cuando ya andas picando a tu diosa.

The end of the battle and the aftermath, now we need to see what the decree of the heavens is and if they will listen to those who know what is really going on. It felt awesome to be able to read three of the volumes all in one night. Sadly, the school library only has three more volumes and then there is one more I can get my hands on before I have to wait for volume 23.

When gods are portrayed to be as flawed as humans, it's weird for them to declare being impervious from being wrong. I guess that's true of a lot of mythology.

What a cliffhanger! Never have I been so sad to catch up with a series. Beautiful story and art, a good balance of action and character exploration.

Deseperanzadoramente genial.
Mi extensa y constante lectura de este manga fue algo genial. Me da pena haber llegado tan pronto al "final" de capítulos compilados. Pero después del tomo #14 me fue imposible parar.
Reír y engancharme en cada tomo para luego LLORAR en este, como si fueran dos cosas totalmente distintas. Las relaciones entre personajes y el hilo conductor de la historia evoluciona constantemente y nos absorbe por completo. NO sabemos muy bien a donde vamos a parar, pero rogamos que Yato y su Sekki sigan bien y en pie *u* los amooo jajaja
Por si no lo notaton, me apasiona muchísimo Noragami. Lástima que desde mayo se pausó la publicación de capítulos porque una de las autoras está enferma. Ojalá vuelva pronto, ya que terminó con algo bastante perturbador ._.
