There are two major strengths to the Quickstart Guide, and it lives up to its name.
The first is the ability to quite literally pop it open, hand out the character sheets, and hit the ground pretty-much running.
The second is the included adventure, "Signals," which is put together very cleverly, and sort of teaches the rules from the basics to the more complex as the group moves through the story. If you wanted to try Star Trek Adventures out, this is the way to do it (not the least of which because, over at Modiphius, you can get it for free.)

Definitely more of a reference book than something to read for fun, but seemed reasonably clear. Hopefully it will stay that way once we start playing.
