I groggily came awake. 3:14am. Who in the world could be calling at this ungodly hour?
What could they want from me?

Ring Ring is a psychological horror suspense short story. My horror stories explore the frailty of the human psyche - how tenuous our grasp on reality can be. The delve into how alone each of us really is, as we navigate the short, brief flicker of life we are granted. My stories focus on the psychological aspects of fear and do not contain overt gore. They are suitable for teens and up.
This short story is part of my series: Lisa's Dark Gripping Short Tales. You can read the short stories one at a time if you wish - each is available as a standalone ebook. If you prefer, you can get each set of nine short stories compiled together in ebook or paperback format. The title of that compilation is, naturally enough, Lisa's Dark Gripping Short Tales (1, 2, etc.) I offer full discussions of each storyline on YouTube, for those who wish to delve deeper into the plot and meaning behind the scenes.

Ugh why did this book have to end the way it did! This was an amazing short story all the way up to the very end. It honestly just made no sense to me how it ended; I simply cannot get over it because this book had so much potential. Some people enjoyed it based on the reviews, but I just don't find the patience to spend the time on reading a book just for it to end in such a disappointing way like this book did. It honestly just made no sense...
I actually enjoyed this short read. even though there are very few pages, the author did a great job keeping me attention. I do wish that the book was a bit longer only because I wonder what Marissa was speaking about when she described how her, her brother and father lived. I would have liked to read more on what caused for her brother to actually be taken into foster care based off of what was being insinuated in the book. I really enjoyed the book.
Psychological thriller that is short but gets a message of horror through. I found this tale intriguing and think readers will like the chill that comes with the tale. It is short and a quick read, but worth the trip into suspense.
Very quick read, and really to the point. Loved it and wanted more from the author. Calls from strangers are weird but calls from strangers in the dark of night? Sinister.. This was a snag from terrify your tablet so thank you!!
Amazing how in so few pages the intense scene can be felt. The fear lingers from the pages. Anxiety radiating through the words. Turning pages quickly to find out what happens.
Short but effective! This is a short story told in first person about someone getting threatening phone calls in the middle of the night from someone in their past. It was creepy.
For such a short book at 18 pages, this was soooo creepy and kept you wondering how the story would pan out. The ending was bizarre! I would have loved a longer story!
I was totally hooked but then felt like the ending was confusing. Only because I feel like there could’ve been so many other ways to end it and the way it does felt lazy.
