This illustrated guide to the films of George A. Romero--including "Night of the Living Dead" and "Creepshow"--chronicles the independent filmmaker's struggles in a business dominated by the Hollywood studio system
This is one of my favorite books, and I'm glad I was finally able to purchase a copy a couple years ago for a reasonable price. It covers George Romero's life and entire career up until "Day of the Dead", because it was published in 1987, but it is an extremely thorough book with lots of interviews, and it's a loving tribute to Romero's work. Perhaps someday the author will update it to include Romero's later films, but the title wouldn't make sense as Romero no longer lives, nor makes his films, in Pittsburgh.
An essential read for Romero fans, covers the behind the scenes of his films up until Day of the Dead and has many original interviews and thoughts from the great man himself. It's sad that a revised version was never written as its only part of George's story but its undeniably worth hunting down the long out of print book.
