Armed with books in the crook of my elbow, I can go anywhere. That’s my philosophy! Better yet, I’ll write the books that will take me on an adventure.

My heroes are a bit broken but will make you swoon. My heroines are their own kick-ass characters armed with humor and a plethora of sarcasm.

If I’m not tucked away in my writing den, with coffee firmly gripped in hand, you can find me with a book propped on my pillow, a pit bull lying across my legs, a Lab on the floor next to me, and two kittens running amuck.

My current adventure has me living in Idaho with my own gray-bearded hero, who’s put up with my shenanigans for over thirty years, and he doesn’t mind all my book boyfriends.
If you love romance, suspense, military men, lots of action and adventure infused with emotion, tear-worthy moments, and laugh-out-loud humor, dive into my books and let the world fall away at your feet.

Wow what can I say.... I am so happy I requested this book. I have never read Kelly Moore before but I will be reading a lot more of her. Piece by Piece is the 3rd book in the Broken Pieces series and can easily be read as a standalone. I liked this book and all the characters in it so much, that I totally plan of going back and reading the first two books. I really liked Steel. He was broody, sexy, could be playful and charming. He could also sometimes be a jerk but a charming jerk. If you follow my reviews you know I have a thing for Military men ex or not. And I also have a thing for damaged, scarred, pained souls. So the fact that Steel was Air Force, lost a leg, and was hurting just made him like crack for me! What really surprised me though was that Ady stole the show for me. As much as I liked Steel Ady was just awesome. She was so strong, proud, brave, and sassy as hell. I loved that she wanted Steel and she went after him. She didn't let him feel sorry for himself. She got him to open up and let her in. I loved their relationship. They had some great chemistry. I enjoyed the flow of the story and I really liked the plot. Steel's brother Syn and Cousin Gray were both very charming in their own way. I can't wait for their books. I am dying to get my hand on Gray's book after this book gave us her back story. Please Kelly Moore don't make us wait long. I need to know what happens with Gray!

Overall a great read. I am so glad I found this author. Below I leave my favorite quote from the book:

"Um Heidi, is that a stateroom that you put our luggage in?" I point in the direction of the door she used when she disappeared with our duffel bags. She looks at me confused. "Yes, it is, Miss Cage. If you are tired I could entertain Mr. Nolan while you rest." "No, I'm not one bit tired, I just wanted to know where I could go fuck Mr. Nolan's brains out in private." I pat the cushioned seat next to Steel. "Unless, of course, you would like to watch."- Ady and Heide

ARC kindly provided by Xpresso Book Tour VIA NetGalley.

When I requested this book on NetGalley, I was not aware that it was a part of the series.
I haven't read the first two books, but now I really wish I did, although you can read this as a standalone. I will have to rectify that and read the series from the beginning.
This is my first book by Kelly Moore, but it won't be my last. I was quite mesmerized with her writing abilities.
I really dig military men, so this was just what I needed :)
It is a great combination of romance, a bit of suspense and complex characters.
I couldn't put it down!
I highly recommend it!

WOW - Can this series get any better? I love this book. Now I want Broken Pieces #4 ASAP. Kyren and Brogan's two boys are all grown. They are both in the military along with their cousin Gray. This is Steel's, the oldest son's story of losing his leg in a crash while a pilot in the Air Force. Steel struggles with himself daily and has shut himself off from life. It isn't until his old captain sends him on a rescue mission that his second chances begin. "Piece by Piece" takes you on Steel's journey of healing, reconnecting with family and finding love again. It has action, mystery, and lots of steamy love. Steel's story is a standalone, but at the end Kelly gaves us a little something of what's next and now I can't wait.

I really liked the brooding black and white cover of this novel but the poor formatting of the ARC I received and the predictability of the storyline didn't grab my attention.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Too much description and detail about everything. I don't need to know about the cow or the dog beds.
It took away from the story.
Also, the male POV sounded feminine.
My opinion. You may love it.

Kelly Moore has wowed me once again with her latest in the Broken Pieces Series, “Piece by Piece.” This novel takes place when Steel and Syn (Kyren and Brogan’s sons), and Grace (Zack and Cady’s daughter) are all grown-up and have all joined the military. Steel lost one of his legs when his plane went down while he was in the Air Force, and he now lives a secluded life and has detached from his family. His life apart from others is interrupted when Captain Maynard shows up to tell him that his first love, Adyson (Ady) needs to be rescued from Guatemala. Steel’s backup for the mission is Syn and Gray, bringing him back to his brother and cousin, and making him realize how much he has turned away from the family that loves him. Of course, nothing goes as planned after finding Ady, especially once they realize that they still have feelings for one another.

What I loved about “Piece by Piece” is that it doesn’t fit into a specific genre. This novel encompasses romance, family, military fiction, crime, and suspense, creating a page-turner that you won’t be able to put down. I fell in love with the characters in the first two books in the series, and also fell in love with Steel, Syn, and Gray now that they are adults. Despite Steel’s distance since his accident, you could immediately feel the bond and spark between the three of them as soon as they are reunited. If you haven’t read the first two novels, Moore provides plenty of flashbacks to give you an idea of their wonderful upbringing in Maine with their parents and reminds the reader of the incredible love between Kyren and Brogan, as well as, between Zack and Cady. Once Steel and Ady are reunited, there is a constant back and forth of anger and resistance, mixed with passion and lingering feelings for their first love. Although Steel tries to fight his feelings, you find yourself cheering for this couple to have their happily ever after. Moore’s writing is once again so realistic and descriptive that you feel as if you are a part of this story and hate to see it come to an end. I continue to gain respect and admiration for Kelly Moore and her style of fiction. I anxiously await the next installment in the Broken Pieces Series and look forward to much more from this fantastic author.

Taking place several years in the future, Steel (Brogan & Kyren's oldest son from BROKEN PIECES and PIECED TOGETHER) has kept himself isolated from everyone, including his family after being injured in the war with China. An opportunity comes along to help save the girl he ditched years ago when he joined the military. Ady is on the run from her evil mother-in-law and gets some assistance from Steel...and a second chance at love.

PIECE BY PIECE has lots of action, a nasty villian, steamy scenes, a stubborn jerky hero and a tough heroine in Ady.
"Have you ever ridden on the back of a snowmobile?"
"Why would I ride on the back of one?"
"Because this time of year, the only way we can make it to the cabin is by snowmobile."
"Again, why would I ride on the
back of one? I want one of my own."

Looking forward to Steel's cousin Gray's book coming up next.

• BOOK: # 3 – Can be read as a standalone. 200 pages.
• POV: Dual first person
• ENDING: HEA. Epilogue. No cliffhanger.

This is the third book in the "Broken Pieces" series.

I loved books 1 and 2 Brogan and Ky's story was so sad but sweet at the same time and it took me a long time before I was ready to move and continue the story with their eldest son Steel. I almost looked at this as a new series. I knew the names of the characters but because the first two books happened when Steel was 3-4 we didn't learn much about him. We jump into book three where he is a grown man, injured in a military plane crash and he is trying to rebuild his life.

For the most part this was a quick fun read, Steels story didn't have the same pull for me that the first two books did and I thin part of it was the quick set and from book 2. Also a few things didn't quite come together for me - again maybe with more back story from Steel and Ady these issues would of resolved but I struggled at times with why Steel was thrown into a rescue mission at all coming out of his injuries just because he knew the girl when he was younger - and the fierceness with which Ady was being hunted also felt off to me but these are very minor things.

I like the friendship between Steel, Syn and Grey and if I do continue the series I hope we see more of them working as a team. I am pretty sure that is where the series is headed with Grey being rushed away in the middle of Steels wedding it seemed a pretty sure bet they would go off on another mission.

**I received a copy of Piece by Piece by Kelly Moore from Xpresso Book Tours and Net Galley in exchange for an honest review**

Piece by Piece is the third book in the Broken Pieces Series, although I haven't read the previous two books of the series, this book can be read as a stand alone. But I think it would be a good idea to read the previous books to get the full story.

Steel lost his leg in a plane crash and is now living in an abandoned lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. He has shut himself off from everyone who loves him and now trains pilots virtually from his specialized training unit on his property. But when his former commander comes to him and asks him to rescue Steel's former girlfriend in Guatemala. She's being held by her former Drug Lord mother-in-law who wants something that Adyson's late spouse hid from her. What follows is a risky rescue in the jungle with both Steel, his brother, Gray and cousin Syd. Can they escape in time and once they get back to find the hidden item? There's a futuristic spin on the story (comm's are implants in ears), lots of hot love between two former lovers, action and suspense.

The book is a quick easy read and a great addition to to the Broken Pieces series.

A very captivating read with romance, family, tragedy, action, hope, suspense and adventure all wrapped up into one. Moore successfully hooked me from the very beginning. I have never read the last two of the series, but there was absolutely no need, this can be a stand alone. But you may would like to go back and read them after this one. Having an aviation background, I loved that aspect to the novel. The characters were very down to earth, real, raw, believable, complex, and lovable. The central theme, I believe would be family love/connection. Moore has a beautiful way with words, that is almost like an addiction, making you crave more. She adds the perfect amount of description, smooth transitions between times, and the story has a beautiful flow. If you are a fan of fiction, based around real life drama/action, this is definitely a must read.

Steel lost his leg after his plane crashed during the war. Ever since that happened he started closing himself off from everyone and stays within the safe walls of his fortress. His family tries to reach out again and again but fail to reconnect. Steel still works as a trainer for the Air Force. When his captain shows up at his house to send Steel on a mission he can't say no. He immediately starts planning together with his brother Synn and his niece Gray, who will accompany him to rescue his first and only girlfriend.

Adyson loved Steel with all her heart. She was in tears when he chose a different path when they were young. Steel chose the Air Force above all other things and left Adyson heartbroken. Her once so innocent life changed when she married into the wrong family. She is now hiding from her mother-in-law who will stop at nothing to get her back. Adyson is surprised when Steel shows up to rescue her. Both of them can't hide from the fact that they still have strong feelings for each other. Will Steel be able to let down his walls? And when Adyson comes face to face with her worst nightmare will she be able to make the right choices?

Steel is struggling with his self-esteem. He doesn't feel like a real man anymore now that he has a prosthetic leg. His ongoing battle to keep his true self hidden from everybody else is heartbreaking. Steel was badass before the accident and he still is. He is gorgeous with piercing blue eyes and he's a really skilled pilot. He is incredibly loyal towards his family. Steel, Synn and Gray all have a device which is placed inside their ear. Through this device they can connect and locate each other. It's these little details that give the story so much more depth.

Kelly Moore has written another masterpiece with her beautiful story of Steel and Adyson. I loved Adyson. She is so strong, brave and passionate. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to show her true colors. Steel tries to intimidate her, but instead of backing out she confronts him about his insecurities. They have great chemistry together. Piece by Piece is a story that is filled with action, suspense and a lot of unexpected twists and turns. Kelly Moore never fails to pull me in from the start. Her stories move me and Piece by Piece is no exception. Every story written by her is an absolute must-read and I can't wait to start the next book in the Broken Pieces series, Pieces of Gray.

Once again Kelly Moore delivers a story that has suspense, action, lust/love and two people who are perfect for each other. Steele is a broken, lonely man after losing his leg while fighting for his country. Adyson is the girl he left behind when he left for the military many years ago and now Ady needs his help. But she doesn’t know it and doesn’t know it will be the boy who left her behind for his love of flying. When his former Captain requests his help to rescue Ady with a team, Steele can’t refuse but is worried that even after years of w/o leg, conditioning his body, he won’t be enough but doesn’t turn down the request. Their first meeting isn’t pleasant and soon they are running from enemies who are determined to get to Ady. Can he keep her safe and be enough man for her ?
What a read with oh my steamy scenes but what really got me was when Ady was the one woman who was able to break down his walls and see his vulnerability, proving his is man enough for her...sniff...sigh...swoon. At first I wasn’t to keen on Steele, admitting he didn’t waste time to live it up when he ended it with her but he always kept her in his heart and redeemed himself for what he did with the symbol of the arrows before he sees her again. I loved Ady, she was fierce, strong and proved she would do anything to keep Steele safe and alive. I also loved how it all came together and how the author didn’t waste time and prolong to get to their HEA.
A great read I couldn’t put down till I was done and a read I highly recommend !!

I was given an ARC from the author and here's my honest review.
This is another great book by Kelly Moore.
The more I read this series the more I like it.
In this book there is a new generation of characters, in fact the main roles are taken by the sons of Kyren and Brogan, their niece and their new daughter in law. I like this jump, because it is a sort of continuum. We met the old characters in the past books and learnt their stories, now it's interesting to see how the old characters live and learn to cope with their sons' problems.
The development of the new characters through the book is interesting and the author has talent in showing her characters feelings in each situation.
In the book there's a military background and the story deals with some problems of real military life.
I totally recommend not only this book but the whole series because there is a development of the style and a growth of the author throughout the books that deserves attention, in addition the stories are great and there are no repetitions in the plots.

Steele Nolan is the oldest son of Brogan and Kyren from Pieced Together. He is in the military and his plane crashes. Unfortunately he looses part of his leg. He doesn’t take it well and closes himself off from his family and others. His old commander stops by and wants him to head a mission to find Adyson Cage who he was in love with, but left to fly planes. He finally agrees to go on the mission and his brother Syn and his cousin Gray are going with him. Adyson is running from her ex mother-in-law who is trying to find her. The ex mother-in-law is an evil woman and the head of a drug ring.

This is an exciting book. Steele has let himself have a pity party too long and his brother and cousin kick his butt about it. Adyson also helps him to get back to his old self. There are bad guys after them and they are hiding to save themselves. I loved how Steele, Syn and Gray gave each other a hard time out of love. I liked that Adyson didn’t take any bull off of Steele and had a backbone. I loved the story and strongly encourage you to read the book.

Steel left his young love Ady behind when he joined the army. He loved being a pilot until one day it all went down spiralling into a nightmare. Steel is hurt and he barricaded himself in his fortress. He works from home and stays away from everyone; his friends and his family. His life consists of staying in shape, teaching new pilots from afar and having a peaceful life with his 2 dogs.
Ady is on the run. When Steel left, she made poor choices and married into a family she shouldn’t have even trusted and now she runs to stay alive and to forget her past.
When Ady needs rescuing and Steel is tricked into helping her, their buried feelings come rushing back. Steel has a mission; save the only woman he ever loved and then let her go to start a new life. Ady is not ready for anyone to risk their lives over hers and she will stop at nothing to help Steel free himself and be the man he deserves to be.
I loved their story and I was glad to get to see more of Brogan and Kyren from the previous books. Can’t wait for Gray and Syn’s stories !

Love has a way of opening up closed hearts

Steel has locked himself up away from the people he loves since he lost his leg in the war. Adyson is the girl Steel was in love with before he left. He fell in love with flying and stopped writing her, which in turn broke her heart. Now she needs rescued. Steel is the man for the job, the military thinks. After rescuing her from Guatemala, he's trying to fight his feelings because he's half a man.....he thinks. While trying to keep her safe, the danger comes to his house. After almost losing her again, will he stop fighting his feelings or is it over??? I laughed harder with this book than Gray and Syn's books

Interesting

I reAd this book mainly because it was free. I am glad that I did. The story was not only full of action, but also a lot of history of the main characters. This plot could be happening in today's world, and I find that I could better understand the feelings of the characters because the story was pertinent to today.
Great writing in my opinion.

This is the first book I read by Kelly Moore. I loved the sex scenes, the use of foul language, all the forbidden things that others off. I would recommend this book, if you like the raunchy writings. I was given this as an arc, but life prevented me from reading it before it came out, so my review is late. (sorry Kelly Moore!!)

I really like reading second generation stories. After we have fallen in love with Steel as an adorable little boy, we get to love him as a man. A sexy, stubborn, infuriating man. I really liked Ady and Steel's story, and how Kelly tackled veterans with disability. Heartwarming.

Another stellar read by this author. I am becoming a huge fan and super excited to have discovered her writing.

This book starts off with the wow factor - and it continues straight throughout. I could feel what Steel felt- and his strength, too.

The setting is as unique as the book. Def. pick this book up and read it today! Fantastic!

Arc provided by the publisher, via NetGalley, for an honest review
The story is set in the future. War between USA and China? Not a pleasant theme, although it was scarcely referred; In the beginning, the descriptive style from the hero’s POV creates a certain flatness. I usually don’t like first person narration and there’s an example of why not: the hero is seriously injured after his plane fell down and he’s describing his injuries (present tense). It’s odd – if he’s injured, how can he be the narrator? (It’s the same thing with heroines in first person POV novels saying “I blushed” or “I rise myself gracefully from the chair” or “My green eyes shoot daggers at him”).
I didn’t finish the book and and I can’t say I’ve enjoyed what I read of it. The characters are likeable. The trope of the reclusive wounded hero has become a cliché and unless you do it very well the result is flat. In this case, I didn’t even understand why the hero was a recluse (because he was self-conscious about his missing leg? Not very convincing).
