Zavir Tharok is a man who knows only one goal: the preservation of his race.
He is cold. He is strong-willed. Above all, he is determined to never give up.
To minimize his effort, he orders women for himself and his men from Earth, instead of abducting them. These women know what awaits them and will not put up any resistance.
After all, the goal is not to woo women with sweet words, but to make them the mothers of the next generation.
But one woman on board tests his cold attitude.
Sally Smith is playing both sides of the fence, and is pushing his legendary self-control to the limit...
A Sci-Fi Romance SHORT STORY. Warning: For adult readers only.
Sometimes I still shake my head at myself! Me and sci-fi?
“Never,” I would have said, just a few years ago! I am much too caught up in the here and now for that. When I think about how big the universe is, and how small we all seem in comparison, I feel nothing but awe. In my writing, my passion goes to the creatures who live at the edge of our world. Aliens, werewolves, panther shifters, vampires - all of them fascinate me. That’s why I try, with the help of my keyboard, to breathe a life into them.
This had promise. Unfortunately, the author didn't state this was a part when I requested to review it. It just stopped. This is something I'm getting tired of. There are too many authors splitting their books into parts and to be honest, by the time the next section is available I'm already uninterested in the series. I won't be getting the next part. Either I'll get the whole or not at all.
Negatives. Even though this story is only about 31 pages long, it has a lot of negatives. A few of them are improper grammar and sentence structure. Improper words used in said sentences. Not well planned writing so the story flow is a bit out of sync. It makes you feel like you started the story after the beginning was throw away or something. There is no ending at all. No HEA although it might, sort of, be implied. At the end of the story the author wants you the reader to contact her to tell her how you think it should end.
I don't know about you, but when I read these short shorts, etc., I do it to see if I would be interested in that authors writing style and her stories. I'm not a writer, I am a reader.
On top of all that, the story contradicts itself. In the beginning Sally is thinking in her head about how she could escape if she gets what she needs & appears to NOT know how things work or are laid out in the ship. Then we see this at the 64% mark, "She knew the ship’s plans by heart and knew which way she needed to go." This is the 3rd or 4th instance of contradictions in the story.
Unfortunately, as the story is right now, I can not recommend this to anyone for any reason. No real world build. No character build.
I gave 2 stars simply because the premise was interesting. It had potential. And it is NOT the worse I have ever read.
It could have been so much better if the author had taken time out to truly write a 'Story' and not just an advertising piece.
The author sent me an email with a link to BookFunnel for this book. I took a chance since lately I like Sci-Fi romances.
The world building was only slightly interesting as you are thrown into the world on page one with a mission you don’t quite understand. The back story has a lot of holes punched it it, the mission dublious at best, characters you don’t get to know and while it isn’t instant love, it is instant lust. The story had promise. But it abruptly ends and I felt left wanting more. What happens on the three month trip to his home planet? What is the home planet like? What’s the difference between companion, mate or bride? Are their alien females still left? Hierarchy? And so many more questions. It feels like the selling of women’s body is the draw to the romance over the story that hasn’t been told.
There are some editing issues with sentences missing key words to understand it. This draws my focus away from reading as it is backward ness in the flow of reading. Like a stop sign in the middle of an interstate.
I don’t need a back story dump, but a more careful explaination did how the heroine got to the point that she is on a mission to save her mother. If this is a series of small installments for this story, I respect the author’s decision to do so, but she needs to respect my decision to just wait for them all to be published or for me to stop reading as I don’t like installments to get the full story. Usually the installments are to short to truly convey the story satisfactorily.
So for now, I am in the middle of the road. Just ok. Nothing phenomenal.
Quick read that I feel like should have been longer. Apparently it’s a part of a book that’s been split up. I personally would have preferred a longer book as I’m not a fan when one book is broken up into parts like this. The story was good and I will be finishing it out as I want to know what happens.
Had potential, way too short. Cliffhanger... I hate CLIFFHANGERS! I would pay for a longer, finished book. Will not be buying the rest of these books because I can't handle this tease shit
Sally Smith is on a mission to collect weredragon DNA, so she signs up to be a mail-order bride to the alien shape-shifters that have come to Earth, now a starving, almost desolate planet. Once on the aliens’ ship bound for their home planet, she meets the ship’s captain, Zavir, and the attraction between them is instant. Zavir’s people need human women to procreate and continue their species, so they’ve made an arrangement with the Earth’s governments for willing human women. Zavir is nothing but kind to Sally, but her secrets could ruin their relationship before it ever really gets started. The H and h are likeable characters. Sally is strong-willed, Zavir is confident, and they make for a good couple. I really liked this short story but wished it would’ve been longer. It’s told in third person, only from Sally’s POV. Though it ended abruptly and on a cliffhanger, there’s definitely a HEA in sight. 4 stars
This is Zavir and Sally's story . Sally is hired to bring DNA back and if she does her mother's life will be spared . So she agrees to be a mail order bride so that she can get the chance to get hold of DNA from one of them . Zavir is the lord of the weredragons and decided that Sally would be his companion . But there is more going on than even Sally knows about ! There is so much action and drama going on that this story will draw you in and not let go . I love the way this author was able to build a world in such a way that you truly believe you are there ! This is well written and recommended to all .

Then she learns her mission is not all it's cracked up to be! You will love this super exciting, suspenseful, funny, thrilling, and scorching hot Alien Romance. It is a five star plus story.
I enjoyed reading this alien romance. Zavir is 100% alpha and Sally is just trying to survive. I like Zavir because he is patient with Sally who is in way over her head, understandingly so. They are totally opposite in demeanor but are eventually able to work through her naivete and all the other blurred lines. Would love to be able to read more about this couple and Zavir's home planet.
Really good book but it's not fair, You can't just leave a person hanging. You let them meet and have a conflict. Then you have them make a choice, which way stay or go? Now I have to wait for the next book. Darn it. I received an advance reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
Sadly, this didn't really deliver. There was no back story, just dropped tidbits, which made the story line very confusing and muddled with thoughts and actions - I felt in constant catch-up mode! Rushed ending left me feeling unimpressed.
Great short little story. Cant wait to see if the Author puts out anymore. I believe there could be a really good long story out of this and I hope she does.
The only real issue I had with this story was the ending or really the lack of an ending. It leaves you wanting to know what going to happen, with no way to find out.
It was an interesting short story and made me want to read more about what Sally decides to do aboard the alien ship. Will she stay or go back to her home?
Spoiler Free Review: This sounded so promising. From the title to the synopsis. Unfortunately, the build up was in vain.
I see a lot of people on Goodreads complaining about it being too short and too fast. Yes that was an issue but it is a short story so it was understandable. My main problem with this book is that we were promised a strong and mighty Zavir. But what we got was a timid man who kept falling asleep. Regardless of...
