Hey there. I’m Ruby, I am twenty-five years old. I have red dyed hair, blue contact lenses that make my eyes pop, and I’m five foot seven inches tall. But those are just the stats. There’s something else you should probably know: I’m dead. Don’t freak out, technically, I’m undead.

Ruby Jones’ new undead life sucks! She has no rights and a crappy job at a zombie-hating newspaper. Things aren’t great. That is, until she meets Luke Walker. Luke, an unlucky in love, geeky twenty-seven-year-old with a love for Buddy Holly glasses, is not at all pro-zombie. But fear not: That was before a cooking-for-singles night threw him and Ruby together and changed everything. When the two collide, there are accidents and murder, laughs and superglue; all making for an interesting ride. Can a zombie find love? Ruby is in pursuit of her happy ever after; because everyone—even the undead—deserves one, right? Is it possible to say I love you, in pieces?

This book had me laughing so hard I had to stop several times to get the tears out of my eyes to read more. What an awesome sense of humor Greig has shown in the character of Ruby, who has very, very bad days - including waking up dead as a zombie. The situations this zombie-girl, who still considers herself human, puts herself in are impossible not to get a kick out of. From detaching body parts at the most inconvenient of times to fierce outburst born on crazy, this book is so much fun. I'm not generally a zombie book reader but this one was different. Ruby reminded me of the zombie version of Bridgett Jones. "I look like a constipated troll when I cry and I say they wrong things." The unique voice Ruby had is one that made me love HER to pieces. "I am still the same at heart. Ruby Jones, now twenty-six and so clumsy I should be registered disabled."
But this book isn't all fun and games. Things take a dark turn and Ruby - true to form - finds a way to take all the blame temporarily. Will it be possible for Ruby to find her happy ending? Hanging limbs and all? Find out!
This is the story of Ruby. Girl turned Zombie, with serious balance issues. Greig has crafted a story, that many can identify with. Ruby is a young woman, with all the trappings of a mid-twenties female. She is loving, feisty, awkward, and flawed. It tells a story of an outcast, trying to fit into today's society. There are boys, issues, with lots of high and low points for the main character. The author has an uncanny knack of mixing up the emotions in this story. It is funny. Like seriously funny. Not many authors can be naturally humorous. Greig pulls it off with ease, creating moments when I thought I would pig snort with laughter. Then in a flash, she is tugging on the reader's heart strings. I have read other titles by this author. However in this story, she really flexes her darker muscles. There is intimacy too, written brilliantly, with steamy moments, followed by hilarious gaffs. I found that every box was ticked for me. Well done Greig. And well done Ruby, for transporting me into your complicated, darkening world.
A Zombie tale, with an hilarious twist. Written superbly and confidently.
This was such a funny and quirky story. I guess it just like its main character Ruby. Yes she's undead but she is just a 20 something trying to find her place in the world and a man to spend her undead life with... Her clumsiness and inner banter is so superbly written and so funny you can't help but laugh and wince... She is slapstick comedy meets undead female its awesome.. The story is great I love how Alana took the zombie theme and made it her own. This is a whole new look at zombies and such a sweet story.... full of flying body parts and sticking body parts back on all while tackling the issues of whether it's ok eating human... If you want a quick funny adorable read with a side of zombie, go get this book
This book has got to be one of the best books I have read EVER! It is about a girl named Ruby that work up a zombie. It is about her learning to cope with it. This is defiantly not your normal zombie book! Ruby has her struggles, but Alana will have you in tears with the comedy in her everyday life. Ruby is a very lovable character and the fact that she has 2 left feet and is all thumbs will only make you love her more. The conversations she has with her self will keep you entertained! I could not put it down and read the whole thing in one sitting! Great job!
Who wouldn't want to be a Zombie in Ruby's world? I mean she has a few flaws but overall I would love it. I loved this book, it had me laughing so hard my family was wondering what I was reading. Love this Authors imagination and the worlds she creates. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
omg this book was amazing! had me on the floor laughing so hard. its about a woman who is dead so to speak i mean a zombie. she meets a guy who ends up the same way. she is losing body parts left and right. and has to glue or sew them back together. thanks for this book!
Love You To Pieces is definitely a very very good read it has all in one book zombies, comedy and gross moments all together. But I love Ruby she is just a zombie try to go on with her life finding a normal one without consuming the flesh then in her life Robert comes along the way and helping her live I just love that he definitely love her to pieces. And I would love to hear Luke story I thing he has a chance to be happy so yeah this was the best read I had so far.
I LOVE Ruby! She is a 25 year old zombie. She is also EXTREMELY clumsy. This book had me laughing all the way through! I about died laughing reading about her first sexual experience with Luke.
Zombies are not usually my thing, but I loved reading Love You in Pieces. This Paranormal/Zombie RomCom had great flow and was fantastic to read. Alana Greig is a talented storyteller and writes incredible characters that are well-rounded and unforgettable. Ruby was fabulous and I loved reading her conversational tone and constant clumsy struggles. It was especially amusing watching the coupling between a human and a zombie and all the things that could and did go wrong. The mysterious phone call that Ruby received at her office added to the suspense and made me curious to know what would happen. Many of the events that followed had me shifting constantly between varying emotions. Love You in Pieces was unique and had it all. It was an incredibly entertaining story. I can't wait to see what Greig comes up with next!
Well, what can I say about this book besides it's fantastic!!! Alana Greig wrote about Ruby the redhead zombie. I don't think she ment it to be funny but when you start reading and the tears are running down your face from laughing it's definitely funny. Ruby life is a mess and she's falling apart, then comes her night in shining armor with pink zombies skin. She needs to know how his skin is pink. But, I'm not saying you will have to read this book. It's a page Turner and you will love it to pieces.
This book brings new light to zombies. In this books zombies works, live, and interact just like normal people - mostly. They still decompose and smell bad unless....(no spoilers from me) So Rudy is a zombie who is so clumsy. She works for a newspaper. She is trying to live her undead life as "normally" as possible. She meets Luke who through a comical but unfortunate sexual encounter with Ruby becomes a zombie too. A disturbing event terminates that relationship and Ruby gets a stalker, a broken leg, a lot of falls and maybe she can get in some happy. This book is a fast, easy, make you laugh out loud read. With some hot sex scenes. Some gross stuff, but more funny than scary. If you are looking for a typical zombie apocalypse, eat brain, kill people type of book, this is not it. Greig has given a horror character some "funny"! Great book.
To be honest I didn't know what to expect in this book. It stated zombie, so I thought maybe a little horror. But to my surprise it was hilarious. I totally fell in love with this book and Ruby. We all have a little Ruby in us and her clumsiness, every time she whoosh, thudded a giggle escaped. Super glue accidents happen also, LOL I can't tell because it would spoil it but Oh my Ruby. Can she land a forever guy being a zombie. You won't regret reading this one by Alana.
Okay this may not have been written to be a comedy but the first half of it has some hilarious parts. Great storyline. Loved it. This was my first by this author and won't be my last.
Wow, this book really blew my mind! I really didn't know that this book would be as awesome as it is! When I started reading this book I truly didn't know what to expect especially it being a zombie book, but once I started reading ruby's story I just could not stop reading it! It made me laugh so hard my husband was like what is wrong with you and it made me want to barf when she was falling apart and reeking, uhh! I so can't wait to find out if there is going to be more books to this story maybe Luke needs to find his happily ever after also???? Thank you so much Alana Greig for letting me read and review your book! It was truely my pleasure and I so can't wait to read more of your books in the future!!!!!
