See how Julia Phartington, against all odds, meets the perfect man of her dreams on her way to France. It’s a funny short story (fiction) designed to make you laugh out loud and to amaze you with what can happen when the mind goes into survival mode. Must read it to understand this fact. It is truly an action packed romantic thriller like no other.
This is garbage. I'm tempted to give it one star. I honestly expected the author to be a twelve year old boy. The names are silly. That's the only funny thing about the book... and the names aren't even that funny. It reminded me of the South Park episode where the boys wrote a book. I was disappointed, upon finishing the tale, to visit the author's website and discover that she's a woman (not a little boy) who seems to genuinely aspire to being an author. This wasn't even the author's first book. She's apparently published a few more serious attempts at fiction before this one. So it's not like this is just some bored person seeking the thrill of putting a book up for sale on Amazon. From her website, the author seems like a likable person. I hope she'll try harder in the future and seek the services of a developmental editor before publishing fiction again.
What kind of fresh hell is this? It's *supposed* to be a novel, but it took me all of 5 minutes to read. It's *supposed* to be a romance, but the couple in question don't do anything but talk. Lastly, it's *supposed* to be humorous, but people were given names that would only be found to be funny by the laziest teenager. The story itself made no sense whatsoever. I'm glad this was a free book, or else I would be as idiotic as the author. Now I have to go read some philosophy or college textbooks to clean my mind. One star is too much of a high score for this drek - I wish we could give zero or negative stars.
Sorry, but this book just direct it for me. I will say I felt obligated to finish it to find out just how bad it would turn out. So unless you are a glutton for punishment(like I must be), don't bother. Character names are ridiculous, story lacks substance and thankfully it was short. I am Hopkins book was written as a joke and no more. Janet Yearsly can't be a serious author...or can't be taken seriously. If I could give this book negative stars I would.
English farce can be excellent as is Black Adder and Monty Python, but this is neither a love story ( because you don't care about the worthless characters) nor funny ( because the authors' constant strain to come up with stupid names for incidental characters is mind numbing and just stupid. Stretching for puns is tortuous. Zero stars would be a more accurate rating.
I got this book only for the title which made me giggle out loud. It's a fast read. Interesting story; however I totally love all the characters' names. Very light reading. Loved it.
This story made no sense and was not in the least bit humorous. I kept reading it thinking it had to get better and was totally let down. This book was a complete waste of time.
Amazingly the chaotic story ended both neatly and satisfactorily. Comic novels sometimes try too hard to be funny (or I am jaded) this novella fell into that trap. Yet, if you are looking to fill a stray hour reading this would be a pleasant way of doing so.
