After loosing her teaching job, Rissa Dayton went West to live with her sister. Leaving behind nothing but bad memories back East, she never looked back.

Doyle - big, tall, muscular - a bear of a man who was also autocratic, irascible, egotistical and dominant, with a capital D—who wasn’t at all afraid of taking snippy little redheaded gals from outside Boston to task, in the most humiliating way possible.

Two people, two different worlds - can they find happiness in each others arms?

Publisher's Note: This historical romance has all the qualities of a steamy story, complete with graphic sexual scenes and disciplining of an adult woman. If this offends you, please do not read it.

Carolyn was one of you as a kid, with the intriguing seeds planted in her head of the shivering thrill-thoughts that came with words like spanking, or discipline. As with you, those kinds of words and thoughts connected the heated blush of her cheeks with feelings elsewhere, which got more and more interesting the older she got.

I bet you know just what I'm talking about.

Like some, she started writing down these thoughts, escaping into short stories of reluctant heroes willing to take someone they love in hand when it's for her own good... and more shadowy thoughts as her imagination matured.

And like some, she started sharing her writings in newsgroups once she gained some confidence.

There's nothing like the perfectly-turned phrase, the handful of words that can make a feeling wash over you. And if you're reading this, then you have within you some intense feelings that most of the world doesn't understand -- but Carolyn does, and she writes those passions with wondrous abandon. Her specialties are Spanking Romance and Adult Ageplay, so we've grouped the many examples of her work that way.

Spanking Romance Classics are sweeping love stories which dare (in a very un-PC way) to allow their heroine to feel the special love of a strong man who will take her in hand when it's best for her. Carolyn writes very real, rich characters and stories that aren't just excuses to jump from spanking scene to spanking scene. If the timeless tango of pursuing ardor touches you, and the head-rush of Adoring Discipline intrigues you, then you'll love Carolyn's stories!

YOU ARE EXACTLY WHAT I WANT

I enjoyed this western tale that has plenty of angst, self-doubt, independence, passion and new beginnings. Two people will meet because of family and try to avoid each other, but fate won’t allow that to happen.

Clarissa Dayton will lose her teaching position, her home, and after a year of relying on the help of friends, she will humble herself and move to the West where her sister, Winnie, now lives, married to Isaac Caldwell. She plans to only intrude long enough to find another teaching position and then to move on.

Doyle Caldwell is a large, self-assured, egotistical man with strong dominant tendencies. He comes across as gruff, and Rissa feels as if he resents her being in his home. When she takes the offer of making herself at home, she will cross the line with Doyle when she invades his office. He will take her across his knee and deliver a bare bottom spanking when he catches her handling one of his guns.

The plot will have the stubborn and independent Rissa raising the bristles of the rancher, Doyle, and while she will try to avoid him, he is on to what she is trying to do. He is set in his ways and has his own secrets that eventually will come to light. Rissa has a way of poking the bear and a late night conversation in his office involves a little too much drinking, along with kissing and things go too far.

Rissa receives an offer for a teaching position and plans to leave as soon as possible, getting as far away from Doyle and her humiliation, but he has different plans. Can two people, with two different types of personalities, ones which clash, but have great passion, find their middle ground?

“She already knew what he wanted her to do—submit to him and obey him, which, as he was much too fond of telling her, were one and the same.”

Doyle insists on a quick marriage, and he refuses to take anything but yes as an answer. No matter how much Rissa fights him and his decision, he shows her that he will not capitulate and she must acquiesce to his demands.

“If ever was, that time has long since passed. That’s why I need you with me, to lighten my darkness. And you do.”

The story has a great cast of characters, plenty of angst, many spanking scenes, explicit scenes, along with passion and sexual chemistry between Doyle and Rissa. For Doyle, he will find a second chance at happiness, and within reason, he will try and make Rissa’s dreams come true.

I was not disappointed by this book by Carolyn Faulkner. It has everything
you would expect from her,a dominant male,a sassy not so submissive
female, great sex and plenty of spankings.Clarissa Dayton had had a
difficult year and was homeless. She moved in with her sister Winnie, her
brother-in- law Isaac and hard handed Doyle Caldwell.Doyle had Rissa
over his knees for a very painful spanking within a day of moving in,this
made Rissa very wary of Doyle and keen to find a job and move out.
Things don't work out as Rissa expected and her life is changed forever
after a fateful night of passion. They are so opposite of each other, she in
the light in his dark world.Doyle loved Rissa's spirit, her independent
nature,he never wanted to change her.Rissa hated being spanked but
her body always betrayed her, spankings made her feel safe and cared
for.Rissa slowly came to accept and love her dominant, hard handed
husband. This was a short but enjoyable story with likable characters.
I was cheering for Doyle and Rissa and their budding relationship.

This is a short, but excellent, story of a new domestic discipline relationship. Neither Clarissa, nor Doyle, were looking for a relationship when they meet. However, their attraction is immediate. Clarissa is very wary of Doyle. His size alone scares her, but he also intrigues her. As they find themselves temporarily living in the same house, they at first try to put distance between them. But as their attraction grows, they give in to it. When they do, they both find a fierce passion between them. They are also driven by the human need to love and be loved, no matter how inconvenient it may be at that moment. When Doyle discovers he wants Clarissa, he is like a steamroller in achieving his goal. It is a lot for Clarissa to take in, especially his penchant for spanking her, if he feels it is earned. She must come to terms with her desires very quickly, but the result is a wonderful love story. Ms Faulkner is an excellent writer and this novella is a sexy, fast passed, not to be missed read.

This is another great story by a great author. Clarissa goes to live with her sister Winnie and brother in law Isaac on their cattle ranch until she can find another teaching job. She does not know that the owner of the house is Isaac's brother Doyle who is extremely large and extremely dominant.

Doyle is still getting over the loss of his wife Laura and the fact that Clarissa reminds him of her does not help. When he catches her in his office holding his gun he doesn't hesitate to take her over his knee.

On a night when he misses his wife too much he get a bit inebriated and takes Clarissa's virtue and then decides the only way to redeem himself is to marry her. As Clarissa had been caught up in the moment and now regrets her actions she is not all too keen to get married.

This is a sweet Head of Household love story which is well written and I would recommend.

I enjoyed this historic romance. Down on her luck, Rissa is forced to seek temporary residence with her sister, brother-in law, and his brother Doyle. What starts out as annoyance, quickly turns to much more between Rissa and Doyle. This was a relatively short book, but still contained plenty of story and lots of character. I really liked Rissa, despite her hardships she was still determined to make it on her own. Doyle was a hardened cowboy, but could still be soft when it counted. They worked really well together as a couple. The story contained a nice blend of ranch life blended with the developing romance. This is one I definitely wished would have been a little longer.

I loved this sweet romantic story which had me smiling and left me feeling very good. It has a good amount of conflict, both internal and confrontational, but nothing overly dramatic or drawn out. I loved the open communication that Doyle insisted upon as well as the dichotomy of his firm but gentle nature. Clarrissa is also a great character, stubborn and spirited, playful and responsive. The setting and the secondary characters supported the easy read perfectly. Of course it wouldn't be a Carolyn Faulkner book without exquisitely written erotic and discipline scenes and this book did not disappoint. Well done!

This book was a little surprising. Based on Doyle and Rissa's first few encounters, I could not see how they would find a way to their HEA.

I spent most of the book trying to figure out how Doyle was going to make a situation better. He was definitely dominant, but Rissa's tendency toward being submissive was not quite as obvious.

They do end up with their HEA. I recommend you read this for youself, unless of course, spanking novels ofFend you.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Clarissa, or Rissa as she is known, is now a trained sister looking for a school. She moves in with her sister Winnie and her husband, and his brother, Doyle. Doyle is a mountain of a man and rough around the edges. He's also partial to redheads. Especially spunky, spirited beauties like Rissa, whether he wants to be or not. Before long her bottom knows his huge hand and has a healthy reluctance for it. Sweet western spanking romance.

The story of Rissa and Doyle is interesting and enjoyable. Both characters are well drawn, likable, and their motivations understandable. The development of their love affair, from her first spanking from him through the period after their marriage is quick, logical and reflects the motivations of two people with past problems who get past them in order to fall in love. There is love, spankings and cute dialog between them.

Rissa moves West to live with her sister. There she meets Doyle who is the brother of her sister's husband. At first they are like fire and water. Rissa isn't happy that Doyle tries to take control of her and she thinks she despises him. But then everything changes and the person she thought she hates will be the person she loves.

Cowboys, horses, spankings and scorching hot intimate scenes. I don't need more and I loved reading this book.

As you would expect from a Carolyn Faulkner story, this is a very well written, enjoyable read. The story is consistent in it's expectations of marriage & society of the time. The characters breathe life into a sub-genre that is overloaded with stories & make this a delight to read. I loved the interaction between Doyle & Clarissa.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for an honest review. this was another great story by Carolyn Faulkner! Doyle is a rough around the edges rancher and Clarissa is a proper lady who is a bit down on her luck. After a rough start, they end up together and it’s a cute development of their love story from there. I recommend this for a quick, lovely read!

Rissa goes out west to see her sister and wait for an offer
of a teaching job. She finds Doyle also staying at the same
ranch and Rissa goes in Doyle's office and is playing with his
six shooter. He goes in Dom mode and you can guess what
comes next. They find they are drawn to each other and the
rest of the novel is twists and turns.

Interesting

Interesting story with a unique twist. Strong characters which is great. The story is good. That said, the ending was a little rushed.
