Sandra is a (kinda) runaway bride. While waiting to walk down the aisle to her Prince, she finds out that he's just marrying her to piss off his father, AND, he's broke. Seeing as Sandra wanted a rich man to take care of her and her mother, this just won't do, so she runs away to find herself another rich man to take his place. Instead of another sugar daddy, she finds she's the fated mate of Naythan (hate hate hate that spelling!) who is a wolf shifter.
This was a tough one to even consider liking. The blurb is a little misleading, in my opinion. It's a mish-mash of contemporary, with paranormal elements, but set in a world that could be considered historical, except it's contemporary. Confused yet? Essentially, kings and queens and kingdoms exist. Shifters exist. Cars and trucks and modern conveniences don't.

The blurb is a little misleading, or maybe it was my interpretation o the blurb, but this is a prequel story. Sandra isn't so much a runaway bride in the sense that she got cold feet and ran away, but more in the sense that the person she's supposed to be mated to she doesn't want to be tied to them.
The story does give a lot of background information that I hope is beneficial for the following series.
It was a good paranormal romance story but fell flat in several areas for me.

I loved it! A well written and enjoyable read. Poverty forces a young woman to make a choice to marry to keep her mother safe. She runs away though after finding out he can't help them. In running away she finds and falls in love with a wolf shifter. A little romance, a lot of sexy scenes, and danger keep you hooked.

A TERRIFIC, FUN STORY
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW...... OVER 18+ READING
Sandra Martin a young woman who's father died leaving her and her mother without anything and even losing their home. They have no one to turn to, no family,soon no home and no money. Her mother tells her and offer of marriage has come in from a prince and that both will be taken care of. Sandra agrees but at the church she has a window open and hears the prince and his cousin talking ,one he has no plan of taking care of them because his father has lost all heir money and wants him to marry a rich girl so has called him home. His plan is to go home but with a wife and that will be two more mouths to feed. She sees most of the people from the castle going for Christmas festivals in the next kingdom , she thinks now that would be a place to find a rich husband. She knows even if she has to trade herself or it she must take care of herself and her mother no matter what she has to do and fast.She hopes out the window and the adventure begins. The guards for the king is a pack of wolf shifters,except one bear shifter who has been with the pack since he was a cub. The pack second Naythan (trying to out run his last girlfriend) goes to check out what's going on when Mac (bear shifter ) said there was a woman in a wedding dress running right for them. Well if you have a love story and one's a shifter you know someone has to be true mates. Sandra is someones but they are fighting it even to helping her find a rich husband .I don't know who was fighting the attraction more the shifter who doesn't want to find a mate or Sandra who knows she must care for her mother and thinks that means rich.Their is a prince among them who is a younger son but is being pushed to marry because rumors have started about who he wants to be with .Sandra decides she could be his public wife and let him live his own life and he would let her live hers as long as they both kept it private. Her true mate will have to face things and decide what he really wants to do, with the advice of friends and a little help from them working out why he runs from thoughts of a family. Sandra has made friends and her prince and them help her make her decisions. And all this is being worked out on the trip to the next kingdom.Things will change for all involved. I hope to read more of this later.

I read the story as part of Shifters in the Snow. She wants safety for her mom and agrees to marry a prince who says he will provide for them. When she realizes he is not who she thought, she is determined to find another groom. She finds someone who agrees to help her as long as she is not interested in him being the groom. It doesn't take long for him to realize he does want her after all. It is a fun little story.

Sandra is looking for a rich husband to take care of her and her mother. Naythan has no desire to find his mate and is shocked when she shows up in a wedding dress looking for a husband.
This was just kinda blah. The language and slang didn't really seem to make sense with the setting. Sandra was way too desperate and whiny for my tastes. And Naythan needing reassurances from his friends every five minutes didn't make him appealing to me.

Short and Sweet
This story is short and sweet, a HEA while showing a bit about the characters and writing style of the author. The Alpha Hunted series by J.M. Klaire. My copy had a small amount of errors but not enough to detract from the intent of the book. If you want a peek at a this author's style, this isn't a bad way to do so.

I got this novella to see if I would enjoy reading this author. I love shifters and their stories, but this one wasn't really all that good.

Naythan and Sandra have a great story
This prequel is an introduction to this Universe, with essential world building that clearly sets that stage in which more adventures can unfold, but unlike many prequels this is a done in one stand alone story. More than just an introduction to characters, this goes from Naythan and Sandra's first meeting, to their happy for now that gives every indication they are beginning a happily ever after.
Sandra's determination to learn from what she perceives as her parents mistakes, coupled with her determination to give as well as receive made her interesting to follow on this journey... Naythan in some respects needed his friend Mac, someone who knew him and his past, to remind him from time to time that the person he feared he might grow up to be wouldn't have the level-headedness to be concerned about his possible actions. His thoughtfulness, his fears, and his awareness came together to show what a great guy he was... even when he couldn't see past his own doubts.
This prequel definitely achieved the goal of making me curious about this Universe, and got more books into my tbr / Kindle Unlimited list.

Sandra is desperate to be married to a wealthy prince, so her family won't starve. When she overhears that her groom is totally broke and just wants to know if she is a screamer. she jumps out the window of the church in her wedding gown. She runs to the traveling caravan that is heading to the next kingdom for Christmas festivities and runs into Naythan, a love shy wolf shifter and asks him to marry her. His wolf says mate, mate, mate, while his lips say no, no, no. He tells her of two available men to marry. She can be the 12th wife in a harem, or she can be the beard for a gay prince. She chooses to be the beard, but Naythan's wolf is pissed. Will Naythan beg her not to marry anyone because she is his fated mate. or will he let her go to give her family the financial stability being married to a prince brings?

It is hard to hear the man you are going to marry say that he is only doing so to spite his father any sane person would run which is what Sandra did yet all she wanted was to get married so her mother can live a comfortable life, Naythan don't want a mate and don't want Candace so when he sees Sandra in a wedding gown he used the opportunity to get rid of Candace yet not take a mate whom is his and pushes her off unto another who wants to get married. Sandra and Naythan learn to listen to what friends said and what their feelings are and express their love for each other, three stars would recommend to friends and family I received this free book and voluntary give a review. As this was my first introduction to the series I was lost. I had no sense of time it read like an historical novella but the language was modern. I wasn't sure where it was taking place old earth or a different planet. I haven't read the other books in the series and I'm not sure this book helps the author engage new readers to her series. Good luck and I hope your experience is better than mine.

Good story.
This was my first book by this author. It was well written enough to provide me with the desire to read more, so I purchased this series. For a quick introduction to the series, the storyline is well plotted, the characters are likeable and together they produce a world I'd like to visit again.

Good storyline with strong characters that draw you into their world and keep you hooked. Sandra's wants to marry to give her mother security. She runs on her wedding day when she overhears the groom is actually broke. She runs to the caravan and meets Naythan. He's a true playboy, but he scents her and knows she's his mate. Now to convince her....

It felt a little too short but it was a good read for a quick plane ride (which I finished it on). Not sure if I will start the series that this book is linked too.

Beautiful read
This was a lovely read about true love. She runs away only to find the one she should be with. Not easy at the start but things are out if your hands. Lovely read.
