Okay, so it took me 14 days to finish a 9 day novena, but this book taught me, that's okay! In this book, Annie Deddens begins by explaining the history of Novenas and gives suggestions on how to pray a Novena. This then goes into a breakdown of the 9 prayers, complete with daily reflections.
If you're looking for a straightforward "How to book" with clearly outlined steps and guaranteed results, this is not the book for you. Rather, this is a book which helps one to move from the idea of God as a Genie in a Bottle, to the creator with whom one can have a beautiful relationship with.
It is beautifully and simply written, but at the same time gives a lot of information. I believe that over time, it will be a book that I continuously return to for the practical, simple (yet not simplistic) advise it offers.
