Mike Gomes is an Amazon #1 best-selling author, who loves writing fast paced, action packed novels for Adults. His desire has always been to create fun, page turning books that lets readers slip away into another world. Mike’s gritty action-thrillers are so addictive, you will be swept up and taken on many rollercoaster journeys around the globe.
Mike was born in Massachusetts, however a passion for travel has seen him explore the world, including visits to the cities of London, Paris, Rome and Munich to name a few. Mike lives with his wife and four children just outside of Boston. He enjoys fishing, coaching sports and watching some of his favourite teams, including Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins.
This is book two of the Falau Files series. 9MM, by Mike Gomes, is another spy thriller. This one is longer than the first. The main character, Michael Falau, is back on another adventurous spy mission. It seemed to me that Michael had grown in book one, despite his demons. In book two, it seems all hope has ended.
There were a few scenes in the book that did not seem realistic, which is why I prefer spy characters about whom you know enough of the basics, that if the character runs into a bad situation, they can handle it while still having a mysterious aura. Perhaps if there were not a couple of unanswered questions in the story it would seem plausible. This is not a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to book three and hope to see some of these questions answered. I give this book four stars, for the story was interesting despite being dark. I look forward to seeing how this series continues!
9MM is a very good action read. It has an enthrawling plot, some memorable characters, exciting fight scenes, and a sympathetic 'message'. The only shortcomings worth mentioning are (1) no real-time romantic interest and (2) T-bone and fellow inmates wrongly incarcerated get no relief for helping our hero.
NB: Possiible subplot? How does character T-bone's nickname relate to same style car crash that killed our hero's love interest. Irony or happenstance?
One good thing about 9MM is that the author effectively stays in the background letting the writing do all the work. Bravo!
This book is fast-paced and is about how Michael Falau takes down a rich kid turned serial killer whose dad has always cleaned up his messes, but this time, he went too far. His dad isn’t cleaning up after him anymore. He also controls the police and the local prison system. Find out what happens when Michael runs into the father’s security team and how he cleans up the son’s mess himself for vigilante justice. It’s a fast read that I really enjoyed.
I had mixed thoughts on this book, while I finally got into it, the story just was not believable. It was an easy read but I can't say I would recommend this book. The whole concept was just way beyond something that would take place in real life. I am sure the author worked hard on this book but I like books that seem like they could actually happen in today's world. I will try some other books by the author to see if they are any better.
A TOTALLY COUKD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN, UNTIL THE VERY END!! I have to say, that I believe, that I actually read this book before. Still, could not put it down!! Falau has been asked by a long time friend to do jobs of fixing people who have killed innocent people. With old memories contantly hammering at his brain, Falau struggles thru each mission.
This is the second book in the series, and was as good as the first one. The main character is a very messed up man who is trying to fight evil to be good again in his eyes. Sometimes the law doesn't work, juries get it wrong, judges are bought off, so this is when a good man does the RIGHT thing even if it's not the LEGAL thing.
A rich man’s son is a serial killer who continues to get off because of his dad. He’s being hunted by a vigilante who is tasked to capture the son alive and deliver him to a special place. The vigilante undergoes life changing beatings and another attempts on his life to complete the job. Awesome cast of characters, non stop action and a story line that will keep you up late reading !
I love the Micheal Falau books. This is the second in a long series, I hope. Mike has his own troubles, and he isn't perfect. But, he has scruples!. . The book flows smoothly, and lots of action.
Talk about not being able to put a book down, I can't wait to start the next book. If you like a good mystery, you will find Mike Gomez is the best author to write them.
This book is action packed but much more gruesome than The Fixer. The psychological aspects qualify as horror to me. Not really my cup of tea. Well written with realistic dialogue. Had to downgrade the rating because of all the typos, missing words, and other editing errors.
This book is fast paced and wraps you up early in the book. You want to keep reading to see if you have figured out what is going to happen next. A Great read .
Lots of action where the hero gets pretty much messed up throughout the story and escaped death by more luck than skill. Psychos are present in a big way.
