Noah Wolf #7

Balance of Power

Rate this book
Just back from their honeymoon, Noah and Sarah and the rest of Team Camelot are called up for a new mission, but this one is different from anything they've done before. Noah will be infiltrating a domestic organized crime ring in the South, with Sarah as his wife and Neil as her computer-nerd little brother. Marco will come in a little later, and it will be up to Noah to find a way to recruit him into the organization.

Things don't always go quite the way we plan, however. Noah must try to identify all of the leaders of the organization so that he can take them all out at once. The problem is that there is so much infighting within the outfit that it's hard to know who is really in charge of who. Add to this the fact that the CIA mole is now pulling some of Noah's strings, and you've got a prescription for disaster that not even Noah Wolf might be able to turn into a successful mission.

Interesting plot, could have been executed better.

The plot is interesting enough for me to look forward to the next in the series. On a critical note, the editor missed quite a few errors that should have been caught. This book seemed a bit drawn out and contains filler that doesn't move the plot along. There are a few scenarios that are put into motion, but the reader will need to wait for the sequel to find out how they conclude.

I read and liked all Noah Wolf novels, although this one had a bit too much romance and too little action. But.... this wasn't a book, just a few chapters of a book. In the previous book at least one story had an end, but in this one both remain open. However good it was, I see no point in waiting months for pieces of the same story. I read one book a week, when the next sequel comes, I will have forgotten half ot this one.
I know Mr. Archer does this to make you by his next book as well, but in my case it's the opposite: I've had enough and I won't buy the next one.
And the whole thing would have needed an editor, I often had to stop and think about what a weird sentence was supposed to mean.

David is one of the few authors I will drop everything for . The Noah Wolf series is full of tension, passion and excitement and never disappoints the reader. Even with the advance warning that this was a 2 part book I thoroughly enjoyed this book and even reading the last page it still left you with a feeling of satisfaction that you had read a bloody good story. I didn't feel disappointed that I had to wait for the next book for a final resolution.
The characters gel wonderfully and we get to see Noah and Sarah married. It's a mix of James Bond and Jason Bourne . In other words a great adrenaline ride throughout. Thanks David.

As always a thrilling ride by David Archer. Can't get enough of this series. The team has been sent to infiltrate a domestic crime gang. They must eradicate this entire mob, including some of the lawmen who are being paid for their complicity. They find a way to get them all together. As always Wally the man behind the curtain, has some ingenious tricks up his sleeve to get things taken care of.

It's ok not as good as the previous books.
I found it just a bit bland in places & the only one I wasn't as quick to pick up again, I hope the next one goes back to the intensity of the previous books.
I much preferred Noah as a single assassin without the worry of having his wife as his partner! it's made him different he worries he has excess baggage sorry David the story line is great hence the 4.
To much romance in this one it has built up as we go through Noah's journey, a lot of books in this genre don't have so much of the romantic element! but that's just me & I'm sure plenty of other readers will find this a good addition !!
I hope the next one can pick up some more of the previous plot & form however it's still a good enough read.

The seventh novel in Archer's Noah Wolf Series, Balance of Power, continues after one of Noah's team members has been rescued after being kidnapped. His team takes some time for recovery and contemplates who might be the mole in their organization before being called upon for a mission to take down a dangerous regional mob-type boss and all of his lieutenants who have their hands in a wide range of illegal endeavors, including paid off law enforcement personnel. The mole reveals themselves to Noah, and with a clever and very effective bribe, looks to employ Wolf into their efforts. As always, this installment is fresh, the character development continues to be excellent, and the pace is perfect. Again looking forward to reading the next David Archer effort in the Noah Wolf series!

I started reading this series for light reading. I finished books 1-6 with escalating levels of incredulity, and this one I quit probably less than 25% in. They're supposed to be assassins working for the govt and the author tries to make a love story out of it. Great. Except half the book is the couple worrying about and saving each other. It does not fit especially when ones essentially a cyborg and they are so elite the mission comes first.

Also the author is misogynistic. Men are men, guys, and ever so occasionally boys when they are talking amongst themselves. Women are girls. Drove me bonkers, but maybe the boy can improve next time.

David Archer is it inspired writer!

I read his books just as quick as he writes them! I am a real fan of action thrillers like this and have read all of the major authors. He talks all of them except maybe Vince Flynn. His character development, his ability to weave several plots together without separating them so far that you lose track much like Nelson DeMille does. I would like to see him right A series as long as Jack Higgins and his series with Sean Dillon. If he does, I think he only has about 17 more to go with Noah before he gets there!

Okay we are really going down the rabbit hole now. Definitely a cliffhanger in many ways. I don't usually like those, but these are such great stories and characters that I will absolutely be reading the next one. I disagree with the reviews that said there is not enough action. These are books people, describing the scene and going through the days they are living is a necessary part of the story. Such short attention spans explains the movies that are non-stop action, because if they gave you true substance you would be bored. This is another great installment of the Noah Wolf series.

In this latest book, Noah and Sarah are back from their honeymoon and they get a very unusual assignment. They are to pose as a married couple, go to Arkansas to infiltrate a Mob Family that controls half of the state. Noah s mission is to get close enough to kill the entire crew, including the crooked Police Department. At the same time this is going on, Noah uses himself as bait to find the mole. He accepts an assignment from the mole and she eventually outsmarted Noah and she has control over him. This is the first of a 2 part series and I look forward to the 2and book

I have been thoroughly enjoying your Noah Wolf novella. You keep my interest for the next in series with the same intensity as L.T. Ryan's Jack Noble series which I couldn't get enough of right up to the conclusion. I am now finished reading #7 and starting on #8 Noah Wolf and although I give very few reviews thought I would in this case. Keep up the good reads without the idle chatter found in many books. Thank You Al Corey

Love the series but if the food described ..

Love the series but if the food described was accurate everyone would have coronary disease. Maybe some people can eat that way steadily, but not and continue being so active!
Don’t get me wrong, it is a great book series, full of action and thoughtful analysis, but waffles for breakfast most days, and steak and potatoes for many dinners is not realistic to me.

Great Series

Love this series, this book finds our hero and his team on a double mission. The main mission is to infiltrate and destroy a very strong organized crime syndicate in the Ozarks. While he is doing this he is in communication with a mole someone who has secretly infiltrated the organization he works for. They want him to leave his organization to join theirs and give him some incentives to do it. Will he do it or stay loyal, read on.

If assassins spend their days off eating chicken out of a bucket and watching rom-coms with their girlfriends, I don’t want to know about it. There’s a lot more romance in this book than action. Everybody has relationship issues. If I wanted romance I’d be reading a different genre. This book sets up a couple of great plot lines that will no doubt be developed in the next book, but in and of itself....blech!

Balance of Power. David Archer

Noah and his team are in Arkansas to eliminate all the players of a huge criminal enterprise that control law enforcement, local politicians and anyone else of importance. He has gone undercover in this organization. Their is also a powerful mole ordering him m to take jobs and if he refuses his wife and other members will be eliminated. Another remarkable read in this series!!! Enjoyed immensely!!

Can team Camelot overcome this seemingly impossible situatio

Noah is tested like never before. Sarah and Neil left wondering how on earth Noah can survive. There is however the on going mission to conclude. When will Marco make his appearance.
Thrilling part one cannot wait for next edition.

Fantasic Great Read

Just finished book eight, having now read all books in the series. Only disappointment is that this ends in cliff hanger. This really a ploy by the author to ensure you buy the next book. However since this series is so well written I am willing to over look it. As long as David keeps up the writing I'll keep buying.

Have read all 7 book in this series and couldn't put down. Just finished the 7th but am left hanging with 2 plots of how things will turn out for his team and Noah & Sarah. Noah is also starting to feel more things , but how will it effect him? Also we weren't given a timeline on book #8 coming out, sooo unhappy about that. Love these books.

If I had the option of giving no stars I would have done so. This is a very poorly written book, very stilted and does not flow and is probably one of the worst books I have ever read. No flow to it and way, way, way, way too much stuff about totally irrelevant material about wedding etc. I surprised myself by actually even finishing the book

Excellent story line.

Enough twists and turns to keep Clancy fans happy. My big thing is typos. Didn't see one in this book. Good editing. Looking forward to next part. Oh I almost never give 5*. There should always be sn incentive for trying harder😉😉. Good work David Archer.

This is Part 1 of a 2 part story. Well paced and a good read overall. Only complaint is about the female character Sarah, she is a chauffeur turned girlfriend turned mega-whiny wife! For pete's sake, Noah is supposed to be an emotionless assassin. Hope she gets killed off soon and then Noah can turn into the super assassin that is he destined to be. Neil can stay around for all the nerd stuff.

Allison steps in and has Sarah heading over to the props department.it is to be a wedding of every woman’s dream. As husband and wife they go in to the next assignment and with Neil as his brother. Hard to tell who is part of the organization they want to eliminate. Plot didn’t flow as well as other books have, the last half was good. Getting new recruits is always interesting.

The Story Deeply Widens

The story considerably widens in this novel. As I read through it I could tell that the story was deeply whitening and I wondered where it was all going to go. I also figured that they could not end this particular book as a chapter in the long story. I was a little disappointed in that but it looks like the story is going to intensify significantly.

Suspense to the very last word

I would assume being an assassin is a very stressful job. What Noah goes through is 10x worse. Having no emotions is what keeps him from exploding, both literally and figuratively.

I do have confidence Noah will resolve this newest twist but it’s going to be a gut wrenching experience.

On to Book 8 to see what happens next.

Edge of the Seat Thriller

Another excellent book from David Archer. I was a little disoriented by the abrupt switch from the Prologue to Chapter 1, but it became clear after reading a few chapters. Looking forward to Book 8.

Hot Rod!

Like all the other Wolf adventures this one is difficult to put down. I enjoyed his new found ability to care for his new wife and others, that emotions are beginning to wake in him. Excellent plot, just not long enough. Can't wait for the next one.

It was ok...all the others have been way more to the point with the mission. Just glad that I waited, and already had book 8 to go right into starting it seeing that book 7 ended with no real conclusion
