A photog, on an early morning boat trip to photograph the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, finds a dead body—the beautiful, 26 year-old, Victoria Rockwell—floating face up in the Indiana River near Disappearing Island. Chief of Police, Jed McCain soon learns that Rockwell’s involvement in prostitution, blackmail, extortion, and drug trafficking produced a long list of suspects with motive to kill one so young.
While McCain is investigating Rockwell’s murder, his assistant, Sergeant, Martha Johnson asked McCain to help her son Deshon who is a member in a city-boy gang. The Daytona Beach police had arrested Deshon for his participation in a gang initiation beat-down and murder of a homeless man.
For the second time in his six month tenure as chief, McCain has been given his two-week notice by City Manager Neil Jarret. In his short time remaining, McCain scrambles to solve the murder, help Johnson extract her son Deshon from a murder rap and find a way to salvage his job.

Intriguing all the way to the end!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. All the twists and turns in the plot kept me guessing as to who the killer was. He's sure had his choice of wonderful ladies to choose from ... I look forward to the next book in this series to see who he chooses
