Echo

I’m a Doomsday Sinner. A biker to my very soul. Women have always been the same—interchangeable. Until her. She loves my control and craves my touch. Now she’s mine. I’ve claimed her in every way possible and I won’t let anything, least of all her, tear us apart.

Olivia

I was on the holiday of a lifetime, until I ended up stranded in Archer’s Creek. Then I met a badass, Harley riding biker boy who laughed at me. He’s a bloody pain in the arse. Bossy and controlling, he’s the unexpectedly perfect guy at the worst moment—because even the strongest love can falter when a crazed psycho decides I need to die.

Please, ignore my review if you like MC romance in general...

***********************************************

I have been able to finish it only by skimming and scanning after 20% and I swear this is the last MC book I have tried to read. They all sound the same to me: an alpha-gorilla male & a submissive woman happy to be owned and claimed like a property!

The MC biker lingo such as the "old lady, club whores" etc. are so repulsive to me that my eyes hurt while reading them.

***********************************************

This book is basically a repeat of the following dialogue with a 1000000000000∞ sex scenes - I couldn't read or count them all but the number is likely close to that!😊

Here's my paraphrased summary of the book:

"You are MINE, my property, my responsibility, Livvy! You belong to me! Understand???

Growl, growl, growl...

I own you and all your orgasms and if you don’t behave, I’ll spank your ass – oh, and you will also like it!

Growl, growl, growl...

Now come here and strip! On your knees!
Oh look how sexy and submissive my woman is!

description

Hey, folks, she is mine, you cannot touch her or I will kill you.
Look what is written on her vest, "Property of Echo"!!!

Growl, growl, growl...

She is MINE!
Claimed!
Taken!
Stay away from her!

Growl, growl, growl..."

*********************************************

"Oh he is a sexy biker... rough and beautiful...
Oh, he is big..
He is tattooed...

Swoon, swoon, swoon...

My panties are wet.
I am melting at his feet.

Swoon, swoon, swoon...

description

I am mush… goo on the floor...
My brain stopped working…

Swoon, swoon, swoon...

Oh, he is so hot and so dominant and soooo protective...
I will SUBMIT to this high and mighty Sex God!

Swoon, swoon, swoon..."

330 page of the same thing over and over again - That’s barely what it is:

Alpha declaration, property claimed, sex sex sex...
REPEAT!

Alpha declaration, property claimed, sex sex sex...
REPEAT!

Alpha declaration, property claimed, sex sex sex...
REPEAT!

Alpha declaration, property claimed, sex sex sex...
REPEAT!

Add two crazy people and some mystery & action towards the end of it so that it doesn’t sound repetitive and cliché 😊 as if it is possible - LMAO!!??

Nope, not my cuppa. As I said, my last attempt of this trend it was!

God did i 𝐅#𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 some of the reviews here. It was so much more entertaining than the actual book and so 𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓. I couldn't even with this one 𝐀𝐍𝐃 i skimmed like 60% of it.

I'm not one to give negative reviews or stars but I cannot with this one the 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐄 of this book were the secondary characters. Hands down. Brandi, James, Gus, Smoke, Daisy and Sleaze, but I can't give more than one star. And that's not me being biased because this is not my favorite genre. I 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐃. Like really really tried to enjoy this but their chapters were a copy past of the same 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐅#𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 thing and 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐋𝐒𝐄. Their dialogue were the same repetitive bullshit.

But thats on me I guess because I made the mistake of listening to my friend (who is no longer one after putting me on a head-on collision with this 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐖𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐊.
I recently read an mc book for the 1st time called "Angel Unseen by J. Bree" and I was really surprised by how much I loved it so I asked her about some mc books similar to it.
And I got 3 titles from her which were this one plus "Duke by C.J. Washington" which was good. It was Light, Short and very fast paced but i did read the book (not just skim it) and actually connect with the characters and their story. Which was better than this fucking tragedy.
Than the 3rd was "Rigg's Ruin by Nicola Jane" and my God it was such a 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 that it kinda made me sad even tho i did pretty much skim it. But 𝐍𝐎𝐖 compared to this alpha-gorilla atrocity it looks so much better. But Damn that bar is so 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐎𝐖 it's Shameful.

This was jealous possessive heaven! Echo is an big, tattooed alpha male in the Sinners MC. He’s riding on his bike one day when he comes across a beautiful woman having a very bad day. Olivia (Livvy) is backpacking across America. When her bus stops and she gets off, she misses the bus to her next ride in El Paso. With no other bus leaving the small town anytime soon, and her awaiting bus in El Paso gone, Echo helps get Livvy a job under the table at the MC’s bar, hoping to sleep with her and get her out of his system.

Once Echo has had a taste of what him and Livvy have, he refuses to let her go. He doesn’t care that she’s not supposed to stop in his tiny town, or that her traveling visa will expire sooner rather than later. He doesn’t care that she’s a whole country away from her home, because to Echo, he is Livvy’s home.

But there’s a brewing threat to Livvy when a psychopath sets his eyes on her.

I loved Echo’s jealousy and possessiveness when it came to Livvy. His need to control and own her body was sexy af. And Livvy was perfect for him, having the smart mouth to compete with his actions, and being submissive to his sexual demands. This was a spicy book and I loved every minute of it. Side characters didn’t play a huge role, but I enjoyed what we got from them. Looking forward to reading more in this series!!

Echo is an alpha caveman type. He knows what he wants and he will get it. Welcome to town British girl Olivia. The chemistry is undeniable. Their love is intense.

This is everything you would expect from an MC read. I love the alpha personality. Hot read. Fits the genre.

4.5 stars out of 5. Paperback read.

I've read one book by gemma and I wanted to read another so I picked this baby. Was it as good as the other about 50/50. But for some reason idk why I love Super ALPHAS TO THE MAX THAF SHE WROTE!!! Also this book is longish but the chapters are short

I did have some eh with Echo i did dislike him calling Olivia bitch in his pov but in biker slang I can understand thats the slang? But still it was annoying. But let's talk about our Biker Mc Echo. He is an Alpha on steroids lol like to the extreme and I love it. If you dont enjoy a alpha who is "MINE MINE MINE" This isn't for you.  Lol when he first meets Olivia there sexual tension and he thinks once they do the deed he won't feel like he does but oh no when Olivia leaves thinking it's a ONS he is pissed. As for Olivia shes a British gal travling the US seeking the sights and enjoying her time but she doesn't realize the man she has. Few times she does push away since she doesn't know why Echo wants her but that man just keeps giving her the O 🔥🔥
There is drama and I figured it out maybe 40% in. Another thing that did annoy me was Olivia and her "push away" yes we knew you had a visa but the "im leaving " 29202 times annoyed me.

Tiny ow/om drama(h did go on a date didn't last lol and H some club girl was flirting with him h kicked her ass), No cheating, slight secondary character, drama, Sexy times, no virgins (both a manwhore both had relationships

So love that books are saying SOA is an over dramatized view of bikers- I mean yes some rings true but most no, just no. But seeing a man who just wants to be in his group and sleep around and finds someone that turns everything around! And a Dom? Loved it! At times too much with the spice but still a great story!

3 - 3.5 stars!

Echo is the first book in the Archer's Creek series and features Echo and Olivia. Echo is part of an MC and has never wanted to claim a female. His MC is his life and his brothers his family.

Olivia is done with the life she is leading and decides to pack up and backpack to the US from the UK. When she is stranded, she runs into Echo and her entire life changes...because Echo is claiming Liv. But Liv doesn't live in the US and that is a huge obstacle to overcome. There is also a looming threat on the horizon. Will Echo find a way to keep Liv? Will Liv agree to be Echo's?

So I love Gemma's alphas. She writes them so they're uber alphas and I adore them. This is pure smutty goodness with a fun plot so don't go into these thinking you're going to be taken for an emotionally charged ride. You also have to suspend some belief here because Gemma's alphas are all in and will do whatever it takes to keep their women. Echo is unapologetic in his pursuit of Liv. I liked both Echo and Liv in here.

I enjoyed this book a lot but there were a few things here and there that bothered me. Echo called Liv a bitch a few times and that just rubbed me the wrong way. But I also recognize that maybe that is the MC atmosphere. I also did not like the OW drama and Liv's reaction to it...stay classy girl, not skanky. Finally, we had the classic "I forgot how to communicate" trope which drives me crazy. But beyond those few hiccups for me I enjoyed the story, the steam (often and yummy) and the characters. I will definitely be continuing this series. I haven't read anyone that writes these kinds of alphas unless it's a short novella with very little plot. Overall, a pretty good read!! Excited to read the next one.

Great debut book from Gemma Weir.

A reader first now an author and the reader passion showed through, it was like Gemma took everything I love in an MC romance and put it in the pages of Echo.

Possessive, bossy, sexy, dominant, Echo is all the above and more.

An insta love romance that is scorching hot, I good chunk of this book is sex which are well written scenes and its a long book so that's a lot of sex but when you do get to the plot and the story, this is also engaging.

I do love a good storyline with some hotness thrown in and I definitely overindulged on Echo.

About the plot:
Olivia is a British girl backpacking around the U.S but when she is left stranded by her next ride from Archers Creek Texas which was just supposed to be a stop over Echo comes to her aid.
Insta attraction, insta love, insta lust, Olivia is quickly swept up in a whirlwind sizzling romance by this cave man biker who is completely enraptured by Olivia. Olivia just needs to get her head around this bossy bikers claiming ways.

"This man is a huge contradiction. He wants to claim me, own me, but I don't feel like property. I feel desired and worshipped and wrapped in his arms feels like the safest place in the world".

With the end of Olivia's visa looming and both of them falling deeper into each other, Echo getting even more bossy and possessive as Olivia finds work in a bar you would think that there's enough to keep you entertained but what's a good MC read without a kidnapping and danger and action thrown in.
Like I said Gemma threw everything I love about MC romance in this book and it was great.

"I wasn't looking for him. I came here to escape the monotony of my real life. Instead I got something I had no idea I even needed. Echo".

Great down to earth characters and extended characters that bring warmth and humour, I love the family feel of the club.

Great debut book, a pleasure to read and looking forward to more.

Content:
Told in first person dual pov, a value for money read with 99 chapters and leads to hea.

JP STEAMROLLING ALPHA/ strong h/ MC

This was just sooo good! The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because the ending was so rushed, even if it was a HEA. It was so rushed it made me sad lol, some things were repeated and annoyed me, and the timings were t adding up like they were to be married in 2 days, and then it said 1 month later. Soooo I was like what.

But somethings:
-This is DELICIOUSLY JP!!! If your like me and the OTT Alphas are your thing. This is echo!
-H is a steamroller! He’s dominate and alpha
-Sooo much Claiming!! All the “mine, mine, mine” which I love!
-Spanking
-Mc vibe but it isn’t entrenched
-alll the drama and feels, and the jealousy lol

I really Loved this. Echo was perfectly JP, alpha and steamrolling that I love. I only wish the ending didn’t feel as rushed but overall it’s def so worth the read!

Olivia ends up stranded in Archer's Creek, Texas as she is backpacking her way through the US. She finds herself getting a job at the local MC's biker bar and catching the eye of Echo. Echo decides that Olivia is meant to be his, but Olivia is not fully on board to being claimed. Echo though is certain she is not going anywhere but she has someone else who is after her and he needs his club to help protect her from the invisible threat.

This was fantastic, I thought Olivia was a handful when it came to Echo. Echo is pure alpha male caveman when it comes to Olivia. I can't wait to read more in this series if this is any indication of what it will be like. Terrific book.

Dirty, sexy fun!

This is the book for those who love instalove, loads of sex and a badass alpha hero that will drive you mad but make your panties wet while he does it.

This isn't classic literature, its erotica pure and simple and deliciously over the top.

Echo is everything a dominant, bossy biker should be and as this couple dart from one intense sexual experience to the next they also fall in love and really what else do you need.

DNF @24%.

Why, when everyone seemed to have loved it or enjoyed it?

Let me tell you. May be a bit spoiler-ish - sorry, can't be helped - so look away if you don't want to know.

It started out well. I was liking it. I had read some teasers, previously, and was eager to start it. I liked the heroine, I even liked the hero.

But it all went downhill when he immediately started - and I do mean right away - with "mine, mine, mine." I get it, alpha, possessive blah blah blah. The whole package. But really, it all happened way too fast. It took insta to a whole new level. Had all of the above mentioned happened at around 40%, I wouldn't have had any issues with it.

Oh and him constantly telling her he'll spank her *rolling eyes*. Whenever she'd open her mouth to disagree, he'd spank her.

The writing, otherwise, was okay but I advise the author to maybe slow things down a bit. Just a smidgen.

So that is why it's a DNF and 2 stars.

Firstly, the cover of Echo immediately drew me in and is perfect for him, I can imagine this biker from the first few chapters.

Echo is dominating to a point of at times I found him a bit too hard with Olivia.  I wanted to understand him more and at times it became too much with all the sex scenes.  This was prevalent in the first half of this story.  Moving onto the second half we get more under the skin of Echo and how he copes when Olivia is in danger and hurt.

Olivia, I connected to immediately and enjoyed her humour and stubbornness.  Her family was weird and slightly unnecessary.  I do not understand how they did not see her after the traumatic event?  This point in the book when Olivia is in danger is full of surprises and suspense and helped to keep me turning the pages.

The sexual scenes between Echo and Olivia were enjoyable however I wanted more verbal interaction.  The MC club plays a secondary role in this story, we meet members however the main focus is Olivia and Echo's relationship.

I found the continual reference to use of condoms annoying at times, I found myself saying yes I know there will be no surprise pregnancy!

The ending was simple and lovely however I would have loved to know Echo's thoughts on the new chapter in their relationship.

Wow. What a story from debut author, Gemma Weir. I’m a big fan of MC reads and Echo had me turning the page and staying up well past my bedtime.

The writing is engaging, the sexy scenes are HOT, and there’s enough twists and turns to pack a punch!

Good!

This is the first book I've read by Gemma Weir, and I have to say I did enjoy it. I love MC and this was your typical bad boy meets the good girl MC read. I liked both Echo and Liv, they had an electric chemistry. I kind of guessed who the psycho's were that built up from the beginning of the book, but I never imagined they'd be so cold. So, if you like MC then it's a definite one click read.

If you love a dirty talking, sexy demanding alpha then this book is for you. Echo is the perfect combination of all that. The sex scenes are crazy hot. I loved that he fell hard for Livvy even though he didn't want to. Livvy was an awesome female lead.

Echo is the ultimate Alpha Male!

If you're a fan of an alpha male then this is definitely the book for you! This is THE book at the top of the alpha list.

This book was HOT. Echo was just the right amount of bossy and sexy with that hidden soft side you cant help but love, and Liv was all kinds of sassy and strong and best of all BRITISH (Which is always a massive plus for obvious reasons).

Don't care if it's a minute, a day, or a fucking lifetime. You belong to me and have since the moment I set eyes on You."

I'm glad to say that this wasn't just another of the same MC book, but instead had a little suspense thrown in (the last 20% had me flipping through pages as fast as possible!) and quite a romantic ending considering the hero was a badass biker and the stuff that goes down leading upto it!
I also fell in love with the supporting characters too and I LOVE IT when that happens. Gemma wrote this in such a way that you can't help but feel invested in the group and it left me wanting to hear more about all of them, especially Brandi and Sleaze's story.

His tongue should be ordained a weapon of mass destruction, because it's both the best and worst thing to ever happen to me.

Overall I think this was a really good start to a series and I'll definitely pick up the next book when it's out.

Is this book for You? Fans of MC, alpha males, sassy heorines, heaps of chemistry and suspense will enjoy.

If you don't like a book that's heavy on the sexy times or instalust/love though, then I'd think twice about it.

I think I just got a little too excited about this author after reading her mountain man series.
It’s sort of obvious this is an older book from her and there’s nothing apparently wrong or bad about it, I was just losing interest.
Echo wasn’t as much of an alphahole as the men in her most recent series, there’s not as strong of a love at first sight thing happening, and that’s what I was hoping for.
So it’s not a loss.
But I’m just not as into it after reading her newer books.

You know that AWESOME feeling you get as a reader when you discover an author totally NEW to you that writes a book that you loooove? Well, 'Echo' by Gemma Weir did that for me. I don't know HOW I managed to MISS Ms. Weir's work but am I soooo DARN happy I found her at last! The only upside is, this way I've got LOTS of her work to binge read! No waiting at this point!
And Echo. Ah, glorious, marvelous, delicious Echo! EVERYTHING this woman craves in a stellar book boyfriend. Alpha, southern drawl, huge, bossy, DOMINANT, pushy, PROTECTIVE, focused, intense . . . . sigh . . . . I adore Echo. Seriously adore him!
And, I have to say, in many of the books I read, I do not care for the heroines but I DID like Olivia (Livvy) a lot. She's feisty, snarky, stands up for herself, intelligent & completely bowled over by the force of nature named Echo.
The plot's been detailed, so I'll just say how this one made me FEEL.
I was completely pulled into this book, I was swirled away with Olivia by Echo, & somehow, no matter how domineering, pushy, bossy he got, no matter how he ordered Livvy around, I shivered in delight almost as much as she did. Somehow Ms. Weir managed to write this dominant possessive jealous Alpha in a way (for me!) that was PERFECT. I found myself completely reluctant to put this one down & when I was forced to do so I EAGERLY dove back in ASAP.
I found the writing, the plot, the characters to be wonderfully done, I WANTED to meet all of them (not the baddies of course): the Doomsday Sinners, Echo, Olivia, Brandi, Sleaze, Daisy, Blade, Puck (shivers!) & Park. I was submerged in the story, forgot I was reading so invested in the characters & how everything would turn out for them.
I was worried for Echo & Olivia: would they be together? Would they be able to have a HEA, together? I teared up as things came to a climax, was on awful tenterhooks as their story spun to the end.
This one has wonderfully wicked SIZZLING steam (a lot of it!), romance, danger, mystery, suspense, love, loyalty, betrayal & deliciously dirty talking MC Alpha to adore.
In short, I deeply CARED about Echo & Olivia, I was addicted to reading their story & I personally think that's a testament to the deft skill of this fine writer.
And I cannot wait to start 'Daisy' next!

Excellent debut book!!! This book hit all of my buttons- sexy, dominant alpha male and a biker to boot equals swoon-worthy. A feisty, smart-mouthed heroine that curses like a sailor is my kind of leading lady. I couldn’t stop turning the pages once I started.

Olivia is on holiday traveling the US when her bus leaves her stranded. Now she doesn’t know what to do because that was the bus to take her to meet with her for free ride to California. Echo in his dominant, alpha fashion takes charge and has her work tending bar for his MC club. There is an instant attraction between the two and both parties finally give in. Echo thinking that if he has sex with her he can get her out of his system and move on, but it just doesn’t work like that. He becomes obsessed with her (in the best way possible). Olivia knows she has to return to the UK once her tourist visa expires. That puts an expiration date on their “affair.” When a truly psycho person becomes obsessed with trying to save and purify her attacks Livvy will Echo get to her in time?

I can’t wait for this series to continue. Gemma Weir has a reader for life in me.

What a super debut book from Gemma Weir. It's all kinds of hot, steamy and dirty, but with a great story too.

I was immediately captivated by Olivia and Echo's story. When Olivia gets stranded in Archers Creek whilst travelling, it's Echo that 'picks her up'.

Echo is one VERY HOT, extremely alpha biker from the Doomsday Sinners MC. And when I say the word Alpha.... My word, Echo is abrupt, determined, dominating, and maybe at times a little OTT. There was a bit of insta there from his side, which at times I felt was a bit much, bordering on obsession.

I did like Olivia though, and like her sassy attitude and not giving into Echo too quickly creating some brilliant banter...!! There is some definite chemistry between the two characters & it doesn't take long for Livvy to succumb and give in to Echo! I really loved Brandi, and the friendship her and Livvy formed.

A good storyline with some great twists which will keep the pages turning. I loved the short snappy chapters, which was great & I ended up devouring the book in less than a day.

I look forward to reading more from this author and these characters and following her writing as it progresses.

A great story!!

Echo is the fast paced and sexy story of a feisty independent northern British girl and a kick ass Texan biker. Fate steps in to put Echo and Olivia in the same place at the same time, where one look is enough to cause lust at first sight for the pair of them. There are lots of twists and turns in this story, some of which I saw coming, some I did not, which make for an exciting read and had me on the edge of my seat. A good cast of supporting characters added humour, fun and friendship and I hope they will receive their own story in the future. The sexy times are extremely hot and steamy but I felt they were a little excessive and by the end of the book I did find myself skipping some scenes. A good debut novel by Gemma Weir and I look forward to reading more of the inhabitants of Archer's Creek in the future.

FOR A DEBUT BOOK THIS BOOK SMASHED IT. THE BOOK HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT FROM AN MC BOOK. HORROR,ACTION, HEARTACHE AND SEX. THE BOOK WAS WELL WRITTEN AND HAD ME GRIPPED FROM THE BEGINNING. A GOOD PLOT AND A GREAT INSIGHT INTO OTHER CHARACTERS. MY ONLY CRITICISM WOULD BE I FELT THE BOOK WAS A LITTLE LONG AND HAD TO PUT IT DOWN AND COME BACK TO IT FOR ME TO ENJOY IT PROPERLY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANY MC LOVER.

3✯

°Experienced heroine
°Manwhore hero
°Multiple POVs (h, H and villain)
°Insta lust ->love
°OTT possessive jealous alpha hero
°Annoying immature heroine
°She's 25, he's 35
°Personally I didn't like that he referred to her as "this bitch", it was a turn off
°Very steamy
°They used condoms at first -he always used them in the past
°OM drama- the day after the MCs had sex for the 1st time she left him thinking that they'd only had a ONS so she agreed to go on a date with OM, the H interrupted her date and kicked the OM in the face
°Unwanted attention from OW - a couple club whores flirted with the hero but the h put them in their place (I didn't like how passive the H was during this scene, it ruined the story for me, he shouldn't have let those women get so close to him in the first place)
°Separation: around a week -both celibate
°She pushed him away
°No cheating
°The h was brutally attacked by the villain - he punched her in the face, chest, arms and legs, he also cut her with a knife over and over, he was about to rape her when the H saved her
°I loved Gus, he was the sweetest, I also liked Brandi she was a good friend
°I didn't like how many times the h had to apologize for leaving him when it was his fault that she left, he's the one who should've apologized/groveled
°Epilogue: 1 month later

I love the slightly different take on your “typical” MC story

Fab debut by this author.
I love the slightly different take on your “typical” MC story...the suspenseful element made the storyline much more of a page turner.
Looking forward to reading more from Archer’s Creek.
