Let's jump right in! Jocelyn is just released from the hospital when BAM! She's being charged with murder, gasp! In the first book, In-Between Work and Play, Jocelyn was attacked by four vampires on her way home and she ended them with her awesome powers, which she didn't even know she had. Now the enforcers are on her ass for it and the vamps progeny is out for revenge. Will Jocelyn beat the murder wrap and survive the vamps wrath?
Holy spooky magical severed hand Batman! Book two of the Jocelyn Frost series delivers the goods! I have not been engaged in such an entertaining, thrilling story in a long time! Jocelyn's world is so unique that I have nothing to compare it to! In this world we have descendants of the Greek Gods and a whole lot of other mythical creatures to enhance the story. Jocelyn is faced with some serious charges. When she comes to terms with her punishment, she ends up having to work for the very vampire clan that she despises the most. Lia Gillotti, the vampire that seeks retribution from Jocelyn, has a real hard on for her, and has some secret agenda to ultimately enslave her forever! In turn, Jocelyn does her best to find a way out of the arrangement all while trying to stay alive. This story was so funny and scary all at the same time. Jocelyn hires an attorney who ends up being her savior, and sounds like one hottie to boot! While Jocelyn is trying her best to work off her debt, she is kidnapped, (more than once) and almost dies, (more than once) even with the enforcers tracking device that was implanted.
On the boyfriend front, Dex Rivers is still around and kickin' but doesn't make it out unscathed. His precious library is infiltrated by the government and he is continual thwarting Lia's attempts at seduction. I must say all in all, it was non-stop action! I had such a great time reading this book, that I may just have a marathon read with the first book, this one, and the next one when it comes out! If you love UF, than you will surely appreciate this unique world full of sex, vampires, and demigod's galore!
