A USA TODAY BESTSELLING SERIES BY ALEXANDRA IVY Burned by The Dragons of Eternity were once creatures of mist and legend. Now they’ve returned to the world, prepared to claim what’s rightfully theirs… Tayla is desperate for a place to call home. After years on the run, the young imp impulsively buys a teahouse and is determined to build a new life. Unfortunately, she’s barely opened the doors when she’s tracked down by the dragon who purchased her from troll slave-traders. He demands she pay off her debts…in his harem. Baine has devoted a quarter of a century to tracking down his beautiful concubine. And now that he has her in his grasp, he’s not about to let her go. But it’s soon apparent that he isn’t the only demon hunting her. He must uncover her secrets or risk losing her forever. Scorched by As a half-breed dragon, Torque never had the luxury of choosing his future. Not only did his father barter him to the highest bidder, but a rare Shinto fey claimed to see him in a vision that involved recovering a lost treasure for the powerful dragon, Synge. A destiny that might have been bearable if the vision hadn’t included a mating with Rya, Synge’s half-breed daughter. Who could blame him for being resigned rather than thrilled with his fate? Rya had enough of being treated like an unwanted burden by her betrothed. So when she learns her mother is missing, she doesn’t hesitate to leave the harem to try to find her. The last thing she expects is Torque to track her down. Or the explosive chemistry that ignites between them. Now they must work together to discover the dark threat that not only traps her mother, but has the potential to spread evil throughout the world. Charred by Being born a half-breed means a life of brutal servitude for most dragons. But not for Char. He has a unique ability to turn every situation to his advantage—including an honored position next to his master, Baine, as well as an open invitation into the beds of the most beautiful females in the harem. It isn’t until he’s asked to use his special powers to slow time and protect a beautiful female dragon that his luck finally runs out. Blayze has spent her entire life trapped by her curse. But when Char wraps her in his magic, she can finally clear her mind long enough to use her powers to travel back through time. She’s determined to discover who is responsible for destroying her life, and kill him before he can strike. She hadn’t planned to take Char with her, but once he’s there, she discovers that the gorgeous half-breed dragon is devoted to protecting her. Together they must navigate the dangerous world of dragon politics to expose her enemies, while discovering that passion and true love cannot be denied, no matter how many obstacles might stand between them.

I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.

Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!

I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.

Novella 1: 3.5 Light Stars

Baine has devoted a quarter of a century to tracking down the woman he bought from his father – imp Tayla, from the moment he saw her he found himself ensnared and, in the time he has been looking for her, no other woman has stolen his attention. Tayla for her part is tired of running and hiding and has decided to settle and finally create the home she has always desired. Enjoying her time with her roommate Levet (who has decided to run a dating business, helping demons etc find their mates), Tayla finds her world in a tailspin when Baine makes an appearance, determined to keep her close and never let her go. But with his father keen to get his hands back on Tayla, and other demon’s hunting her, bringing her back to his harem of one, is no simple task – and once he has her in his grasp Baine realises Tayla is far more to him than a woman he just desires.

Levet as a secondary character again added a nice layer of humour to scenes – I find it very funny that he exasperates all the males/heroes and yet charms all the heroines/females.

A light and easy short read, one that I see myself re-reading at some point.

Novella 2: 3 Stars

Torque a half-breed dragon hasn’t had an easy life, his father sold him to the highest bidder and his mating has been arranged for him to a rare Shinto Fey – Rya the daughter of fierce dragon Synge (father of Baine from book 1). Rye for her part is sick and tired of being treated like an unwanted burden my Torque whom she hasn’t seen since their engagement decades before. And when she learns that her mother has disappeared, she doesn’t hesitate to leave the protective walls of the Harem to try and find her mother. It never crosses her mind that Torque would be concerned by her disappearance and exceptionally worried about her wellbeing.

When Torque finds Rya, he is surprised to find her defiant and not running into his arm (eye roll). I do think he was a bit obtuse – why would she contact him for help when in the last 50 years or so of them being engaged he chose to have absolutely no contact with her. Anyhow she refuses to go back with him, and so the two find themselves working together in order to uncover the dark threat that traps her mother and several other fey.

Overall this was a nice, light read, one I can see myself picking up again at some point.

Novella 3: 2.5 Meh Stars

Blayze (sister of Baine) as a hatchling was cursed to suffer madness, with anyone near her succumbing to madness and paranoia, after centuries, she was unintentionally released from the protective wards of her mother in book 2. She now finds herself in the past trying to discover the person intent on cursing her as a babe, and along for the ride is Char, a half-breed dragon and part of Baine’s personal guard has always been able to roll with the punches, but Blayze has him uncertain and desiring what he feels cannot be his.

This third novella was an ok read, but honestly found my mind wondering a fair bit as I read it. Viper and characters from the first two novellas do appear throughout this book, but surprisingly they didn’t help me engage with the story. Some tiny skim reading occurred.

Excellent series!

I am a huge fan of Alexandra Ivy's, especially her Dragons and Guardians of Eternity series. As much as I enjoy all of characters within, my absolute favorite is the gargoyle, Levet. He is the most delightful gargoyle imaginable. I highly recommend this collection to anyone who has not read it before. These three novellas are reprints of previous works but worth the purchase so I didn't have to go through my older books.

Awesome read!

Since I haven't read anything by this author except the Bayou Heat series, I wasn't surprised at the depth in her books. And I truly enjoyed each book. But I have to say that my heart belongs to Levet. He gave each book, what I'd call a human factor. Between his simple way of stating the obvious, and his command of the English language; I haven't laughed so much in a long time. I'd recommend this series to anyone who loved PNR.

Recycling is good for the planet, not for personalities

The characters in each story rarely differ in their reactions to the possibility that they've found their mates. "Oh no, how terrible that I might have found true, forever love! I must act stupid and keep them at a distance, or there will be no future book cameos for us!" Ugh.

Great read

I was hesitant to get another dragon book, the ones I've been reading all seem to have familiar similar plot lines. I did enjoy this collection and I hope there are further adventures for the tiny gargoyle "knight"

A very enjoyable read.

Just a fun read. Hot dragon shifters you can follow through the whole series with a funny little gargoyle to provide comic relief.
