Thibaut approaches goal achievement a different way. Rather than spread yourself thin working on a multitude of goals, focus instead on the one goal that will make the difference in your life right now.

When deciding on the goal, consider your why. Often we go after goals for the wrong reason. When we do that, we often fizzle out and don't know why. You have to choose a goal that is important to YOU.

By honing your focus on one goal, you can allocate your energy better. Persistence is the key to any goal achievement. A goal may take years to accomplish. You have to be ready to persist through the ups and downs that will certainly happen along the way. Success is a PROCESS.

Something that will help you persist is to become obsessed with your goal. Think about your goal as frequently as possible. Keep it in front of you. Make it real.

Break the goal into smaller goals, and then small tasks. Make those tasks as small as possible. This will help build confidence as well as momentum. Do some work on your goal each day. Consistency is the key.

The accountability section said something that really struck a chord with me. He said that internal accountability can be weak because of your past actions. When you agree to something (regardless if it is an internal promise or an external promise) and you don't follow through with your promise, your inner self registers this. When this happens over and over, you stop believing the promises you make. This can be turned around. Start with small promises and work up from there. Work it like a muscle.

The appendix has goal setting basics and resources.

I enjoyed this book. I found Ideas that i had not read before. It helped put me in a different mind frame for goal achievement.

The One Goal has a great cover and interesting premise. I am always reading personal development books and this caught my eye. I liked the discussions around passions, habits, failing forward and mastering emotions. I did learn some good new tools. There were a couple of typos and some strange maths plus talk of goals a lot rather than one goal which was all a bit confusing. Overall, recommended as a another helpful self help book.

The One Goal by Thibaut Meurisse is a strong guide to turn dreams into real results. Developing from the idea by Napoleon Hill that a goal is just a dream with a deadline, Meurisse goes further, giving a detailed program to ensure that these goals are reached.
.
The main premise of the book is refreshingly quite simple: focus on just one goal at a time. According to Meurisse, one risks being too thinly spread between many ambitions, resulting in diluted effort and often failure. In its place, concentration on one major goal reorients how people use energy and resources, lending toward success.
.
One of the notable themes in this book is getting a goal that goes deep down to your being. Meurisse writes about the need to set up goals aligned to personal values and passions and cautions against goals that have one flying superficially to them. This intrinsic drive brings persistence, which he sees as central to succeeding in long-term goals. Success is a process that requires persist effort during inevitable ups and downs.
.
Meurisse offers quite pragmatic tips on how to keep the focus and persistence going. He encourages the basic splitting of the main goal into manageable small tasks, which gives one belief and more force. This work is to be done every day, as much as possible. Each chapter ends with an action step; therefore, setting the structure to support this approach in the book.
.
Very valuable is the section on "Creating An Extraordinary Mindset," with strategies for developing mental toughness to stay committed to one's goal.
It is an extremely fast read, rich with actionable insights. Its real value will be in applying its principles. Meurisse does make a very valid point that reading itself about goal-setting is not going to help in achieving them; it is when the strategies are implemented that one gets results. Any person serious about major life goals attainment needs to read this.
.
I have to take it slow with this one and read it slowly and apply to life to ensure I am practicing what I am reading.

The true value of goal lies entirely in the person you must become to achieve it.

Are you confused regarding your goals? Not getting the desired results? Not sure about what you want? Then you need to check out this book.

This book will ask you to assess your goal setting skills and then teach you how to improve the areas where you are falling behind.

It will first help you to understand what you really want in terms of goal... whether your goal is realistic... and are you fully aware of that goal.. and then based on this tell you to take action.
It will teach you how to have a proper mindset with regards to your goal. And will also show you how a proper mindset plays an imp role in achieving your goals.
Implementing powerful daily habits to support your goals.
The book will also tell you how make a healthy relationship with failure so that you dont drop your goals in case you fail the first time.
And more.......

The book has a workbook at the end. And every chapter contains an Action Step which requires you to use the workbook for goal assessment.

It is fast paced read. Some parts from this book i really found helpful and have already started applying it for my goals. My favorite part being 'Creating An Extraordinary Mindset'.

The bottom line is, such books will help you if you are really willing to apply the actions shared therein in your life. Simple reading them wont get you results.

THE ONE GOAL - THIBAUT MEURISSE

4⭐

A lot of us on New Year's Eve make multiple resolutions but 90% of them fail and the main reason for it is poor goal setting.
Best-selling author and life coach Thibaut Meurisse in his book The One Goal shares the exact blueprint to make any goal a reality.
To achieve any goal he talks about the importance of an exceptional mindset believing in yourself , creating your goal-related identity and being perseverant and not giving up on goals and focusing on the process.
Another important point that he stresses on is the power of written goals and that one goal tries to break down if it's long term into smaller ones which one can achieve yearly and focusing on one goal at a time and taking appropriate actions.
There are a lot of exercises and questions asked for us readers and at this phase in my life, I want to read and devour this book slowly so that I can achieve maximum results for my long-term goal.
