Dragons in Exile #3

Draekon Heart

Rate this book

There might be a way out of the prison planet...
The only problem?
I don't want to go!

Back on Earth is a man who wants to kill me. Back on Earth, I slept with a knife under my pillow to be safe!

There's no coffee on the prison planet!
No pizza!
No chocolate!

I should be thrilled that there might be a way back home. Except I don't want to return. Here, I feel safe. Because Mike isn't here.  And because Thrax and Zorux are!

But I've sworn off guys. No matter how hot they are!

No matter how much I want to kiss them. No matter how much I want to run my hands all over their hard bodies...

There are a hundred reasons why the three of us shouldn’t be together:

1. There's still no sign of my friends.
2. The rescue attempt is spiralling into disaster!
3. And most importantly, I'm fairly sure that the Draekons I'm falling in love with aren't my mates! Etc...

Secrets, lies and narrow escapes!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💙💚💜🤎
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🤐🤫🫣☺️

The heroine: Ryanna - she volunteered to travel the Zoraht Empire to escape from an abusive ex who was determined to kill her. He was a sheriff and she thought the only way she could truly escape him was to leave the galaxy. She says she doesn’t want anything to do with men, but is falling for Thrax and Zorux despite them not being her fated mate.

The Heroes: Thrax and Zorux - Zorux is a highborn of Zoraht according to his markings, but they are a lie. His lowborn father killed the man he worked for and took his place. While dying his father confessed his crime to his wife who then killed her daughter and tried to kill Zorux before taking her own life. Zorux was scarred in that episode, he is now afraid of being exposed because the entire family of the person who poses as a highborn would be punished with death if it comes out and he fears for his siblings. Thrax was alone his entire life until he was exiled to the prison planet.

The Story: After the rainy season ends, the group decides to go in two different directions on separate missions. One group is going to try to find the rest of the females from their ship whom they think ended up with another group of Draekons. The other group is going on a mission to search for the ship parts that were dropped onto the planet for Barax, who purposely crashed the ship the women were on. Barax is now in exile high on the mountain as punishment for his crimes.

Thrax, Zorux and Ryanna are together in the group that go after the high tech cloak ship parts. However, not everyone actually wants to get off of the prison planet. The Draekon males can’t really go home, because they would just be caught and returned to the prison planet. Though most still want to leave the prison planet and go to someplace else where they can live in exile rather than be forced to stay on a prison world.

The story is told in multiple points of view by dual narrators Misty Dawn & Ry Forest. The narration was dual narration with the male doing all the voices within the chapters that are told from the male points of view and the female doing the chapters told from the female point of view.

Lee Savino has a way with creating characters that stay with you long after you've finished the book. Rayanna, Thrax and Zorux all have things in their past that have kept them from becoming close to anyone. The story between these three is intense and frustrating at times but you can feel all the emotions coming from them. What will happen when secrets are revealed? I can't say a lot because I don't want to post spoilers but I HIGHLY recommend this book. Lee once again pulls you into the story so much that you can loose track of time. Now I'm just waiting for the next one in this series!

Thrax, Zorux and little Earth girl Ryanna

This girl has spunk, pizzazz, fear, determination, strength and two kick-azz alien men that would do anythign for her. Both Thrax and Zorux could be nothing but different but pair mates to the one and only Ryanna. This time the story has picked up pace and added extra deminsion to it. The was an added dynamic to the triad also, jealousy. It was not the kind tha tear things apart but it was something to watch unfold. They fit.

The triads dynamic unfolded slower with more finesse and confidence and emotional bonding before full on she our mate type of things. I loved how it all played out. And the meeting of the other exile batch presents another layer.

There was chemistry, drama, action, determination, strength, passion, realization, and so steamy sexy sex menage scenes.

Healing from abuse

Welp this was precious. Ryanna has had the hots for Thrax (NGL this name threw me because I kept thinking of The Scorpion’s Mate by Susan Trombley) but has promised herself she won’t trust a man again. To no one’s surprise, having 2 sexy Draekon be into her makes this hard to do.
I wish there was more writing about the 3 months before this book from their perspective, but it was still good.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: abduction, attempted SA, violence, physical assault, abuse (off page), PTSD symptoms, murder (off page), grief

Ryanna, Thrax and Zorux 😍

I loved their love story. The way Ryanna combats her abusive past while trying to be open to something new is amazing to witness. Don’t get me wrong, she tried to put up a fight.. obviously she did not succeed. Thrax and Zorux and very persuasive 😏 Especially when they finally overcome their own fears. Loved this!

The covers for these books are God-awful.

This was a bit more memorable than book 2 - they don't realize they're "mates" immediately and the heroine is dealing with PTSD from an abusive ex husband.

TW for recalling domestic violence

Fun sci-fi romance

Fun, short, sci-fi romance story. I might have enjoyed it (even) more when I didn’t jump in the middle of the series and world build. I wasn’t too impressed by the narrators but that’s probably more taste than them not being good.
I’m interested in more Dreakon books, though

Nice fun and fast read.
I think this series is very good for when you need a pick me up from darker or angsty books.
It is full of sexy times and low drama.

Ryanna Dickson is alone and terrified. Everyone who loved and cherished her is long gone. Her ex-husband, Mike, the upstanding sheriff of their small town in Georgia? Well, after he was done beating and abusing her, he tried to kill her when she divorced him. When the Zorahns come to Earth, offering gifts and miracle cures for diseases, all they ask is for ten female volunteers to go to Zoraht for six months. It's all so mysterious. Ryanna jumps at the chance. What does she have to lose? But things never go according to plan, do they? When the spaceship carrying Ryanna and her companions crashes on the Draekon prison planet, everything changes. There she meets Thrax and Zorux, two of the exiled Zorahns. Thrax was alone his entire life until he was exiled and found others like himself. Zorux carries a dark, potentially deadly, secret that could destroy him and everyone he loves, a secret that makes him distance himself from everyone. After months spent in the Draekon camp, friendship slowly blossoms between Ryanna, Thrax, and Zorux. But secrets still abound. The two surviving scientists from the crashed ship have brought the machinations and plots of Zoraht with them. The Zorahn homeworld is filled with schemes and collusion. Unknown and unrevealed agendas put everyone on the planet at risk. No one trusts the scientists. When information integral to the survival of all is made known, it falls to Ryanna, Thrax, Zorux, and Raiht'vi, one of the scientists, to find the key that could either destroy or save everyone. And as the friendship between Ryanna, Thrax, and Zorux begins to change, to morph into something more, all three are afraid of that connection, none more so than Ryanna. The Draekon are capable of transforming into dragons, but only when they find their mate. And Ryanna can't, won't, let herself feel anything for the hot, hunky Draekons that have captured her affection, not after what her ex put her through. When a totally unexpected threat puts Ryanna and Raiht'vi in mortal danger, Thrax and Zorux have no choice but to save them. But can they? Will they be able push through the hurt, pain, and possible deadly consequences of their former lives? What of Ryanna? She's been through so much. Is it possible she's finally found love, only to lose it because of her stubbornness and unwillingness to leave her past behind? Can these three pull themselves from the horrors of their previous lives and let themselves find happiness? Or will the lethal threats against the Draekons and Earth women destroy not only the happiness of the triad but everything for which the Draekons have worked for so very long? Will Ryanna, Thrax, and Zorux survive to fulfill their fate? Or will everything literally go up in flames, destroying all hope for the Draekon planet?

In this third installment of Dragons in Exile, Lee Savino and Lili Zander have outdone themselves. Draekon Heart held me riveted from page one. Lee Savino and Lili Zander have shown their true talent in creating a mystical, magical world that's beautiful beyond description and fascinating beyond measure. The entire storyline, the world of Zoraht, the plots, the mysteries, the uncertainty of every action and reaction, the Draekon planet, the people...all of these are captivating. And the interactions between Ryanna, Thrax, and Zorux aren't just steamy. They're HOT! The relationship between the three is beautifully crafted. I felt every moment of anticipation, fear, dread, abject terror, hope, wonderment, and the realization that life is worth every single second of living. This isn't just an average paranormal shapeshifter erotic romance. In my opinion, this is the best work both Ms. Savino and Ms. Zander have produced to date. (And that's truly saying something!) Kudos, Lee Savino and Lili Zander. I give Draekon Heart my highest recommendation. Thank you for writing such a breathtakingly beautiful story!

One final note. Please be an informed reader and consumer! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, think hard before buying any book you know you won't enjoy. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and all booksellers' websites. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the authors! They work extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

HE CAN’T REACH YOU HERE. YOU ARE SAFE FROM HIM

What an amazing new series, with sexy tattooed alien men that have been banished to a prison planet because they carry a mutated gene where they are Draekon, in other words, they can shift to dragons. The Zorahn are wanting Earth women to aid in their secret experimentation but convince Earth’s government that it is a temporary six-month stent, and ten women will be on the first shuttle. “You represent the first step in an alliance that we hope will span generations.” “We’re glorified lab rats.”

Ryanna Dickson left earth, to escape from her abusive ex-husband, Mike, the sheriff of where she lived in Goose Hand, Georgia. She may be stranded on a prison planet, along with a few other Earth females, but there are also Draekon prisoners, exiled from their planet for carrying a mutant gene that allows them to turn into dragons. Ryanna still lives in fear and is haunted by her nightmares from the terror she lived under the cruel hand of Mike. She is determined that she will never become involved with another man again and give him control over her.

Thrax and Zorux will each have their own secrets. But what is no secret is that each of them desires
Ryanna. Thrax is more easy-going, carefree and Zorux is reserved, and surly. There is a bit of jealousy among them with favoritism from Ryanna, but she lets them know, she like each of them, but doesn’t believe they are to be mates because they didn’t turn into dragons when they met. Three individuals, all with baggage and secrets, but with a strong attraction will learn that together, they can conquer much. Some of those secrets could result in death if the truth were to be uncovered.

“I will always enforce the laws of my people.”

The plot will have the rainy season ending, and it is time to try and locate the ship, Fehrat 1, and then the plan is to find the containers with parts to build spaceships, and to locate the other Earth women. The trip will take them into new terrain and also dangers. It will become a matter of trust, and teamwork to complete their mission and survive. Fighting a growing passion may be the biggest danger they encounter. Ryanna can’t have her heart broken, that would be more painful than the beatings she has endured by her ex-husband.

Throw together, Ryanna, Thrax, and Zorux will become more open with each other, sharing secrets, fears, and parts from their past. They discover a physical and sexual attraction and the Draekon prove that they will honor their word. Ryanna learns that she is stronger than she believes, especially when she is under attack and it is a matter of life and death. Open, honest, painfully raw discussions with each other, and taking a chance on the future may free the soul and unleash the dragons within.

The story has plenty of passion, angst, sexual chemistry and explicit sex scenes between a human woman and her two hottie dragons. The story is an ongoing series, and each story will read as a standalone. In the next book, maybe we will learn more about the five human females that were taken captive by another Draekon group. There are some surprises and also we are left with a cliffhanger of life and death, and the fourth book will be Dragons in Exile.

This is the third book in this series that I've read and, with each new book, the series gets better.

In this book we learn more and Zorux and Thrax. Thrax is playful and flirty, but underneath that shield he is a man who doesn't believe in his own worth. He grew up as a lowborn orphan. Even after finding a mate, he refuses to complete the bond because he doesn't think he's good enough for her.

Zorux is also a lowborn, but he grew up as a highborn. Due to some nefarious actions committed by his father, he's spent his whole life hiding a secret that, if revealed, couldn mean the life of himself and all his younger siblings. His past holds him apart from everyone.

The two of them are exiled to the prison planet and believe their future will be bleak and lonely, until a spaceship with human women crashes on their planet. After spending months alongside the human women, they are drawn to one of them, but no mating signs have shown up. The feel something for their little human, but they each have things that hold them back from claiming her.

Rhianna is a survivor. First of an abusive husband, then the crash, and now being stranded on an alien world with no way home. Finally, falling for two draekon men who she believes can't possibly be her mates seeing as they have never shifted. She's afraid to let them in and risk her heart again.

The three of them together make a great pair. Each of them supports and provides what the others need.

I really liked reading their story and I look forward to the next book.

Another little tidbit, the epilogue is really intriguing. Olivia seems to have gotten not one, not two, not three, but four... count them, four possible Draekon mates. Her story will be very interesting!

Tensions Rise and Danger Increases in this Incredible series!!

This series continues to be full of amazing stories; each one better than the last!!
Ryanna has an abusive ex-husband who still gives her nightmares. There was no recourse on Earth because he was a cop. She feels like he can no longer reach her on this prison planet, though he still invades her dreams. Thrax is “Sexy Draekon” who flirts and maintains good humor. Zorux is “Surly Draekon” who keeps to himself or provides curt answers. Ryanna feels an attraction to both Draekon, but as they did not morph into their dragon form they are not her mates. She could not stand to watch if they ultimately found their mate – AND she has sworn off men after her abusive situation.

When sent on a mission together she gets to know these two Draekon much better. When things go wrong they are only caring and kind toward her – which is a new circumstance for her. When they continue to save her and support her will she see their true nature and risk her heart?

Delightful (and steamy) growth of relationship, inventive new dangers on this alien world, and the ultimate goal of rescuing the other group of women and piecing together a possible way to escape the planet create an entertaining and compelling read.

Draekon Heart: Exiled to the Prison Planet Book 3
By Lee Savino and Lili Zander
Kindle unlimited purchase
What a book! Love the cover, talk about the m/m being opposites.
Thrax and Zorux have their secrets. They are strong men with hearts of gold. They have been on this "prison planet" for 60 years.
Three months ago Ryanna and the other woman crashed on this planet with nothing but men and rain. Not that she is complaining.
Now with the rainy season over they can look for the supply drop and get off this planet.
This series is about one woman finding love In the arms of two men so if you do not like MFMM, this is not the series for you, but you're missing out. I recommend reading this series in order. I feel like I have to point out a blimp of a trigger warning. Scale 1 - 10, 10 being the worse I would say about a 1.
Exiled to the Prison: a 7 book series with some short stories added in to keep you going.
1 Draekon Mate
2 Draekon Fire
3 Draekon Heart
4 Draekon Abduction
5 Draekon Destiny
5.5 Daughter of Draekons
5.6 Draekon Rescue
6 Draekon Fever
7 Draekon Rogue
7.5 Draekon Holliday

Lots of excitement

Rihanna is one of the human women that crashed on the exile planet. She was running away from an abusive ex husband. She decided to stay away from men. Zorux is hiding a secret about his past so that his brothers and sister aren't killed. So he keeps himself separate from everyone else.Thrax was raised in an orphanage, then he became a pilot. So he doesn't form relationships.
All three have issues that they hide but they are attracted to each other. Rianna believes that since the guys didn't transform into dragons when they saw her that they aren't mates.
They are on a team that is sent to retrieve the parts that make a cloak ship. The problem is there are seven different boxes of parts with two more duplicates of each box for 21 total. The other problem is the other exile group is collecting them too.
It ends in a sort of cliff hanger. A couple of Draekon got captured by the other exiles. Olivia's story is next and it has an interesting beginning from the epilogue. Love this series. Lots of excitement. Can't wait for more.
Warning: start from the first book and read in order or you will be lost.

First real suspense in the series

I’m starting to see a pattern with the women. They all seem to have the same personality but different background stories.

The men are similar to. They all seem to act like a human man. Yes, they have rules of their society, which they left at home. However all the men seem to have a cocky, playful personality. Even when were told they checked her is certainly, but please still comes out. I’m seeing a lot of one note characters.

The first real suspense in the series happened in this story. The thing is, it happened at the end, which turned the book into a cliffhanger. Where as most of the book lacked suspense and had easy to solve problems, the ending does make me want to read further. I just hope the problem isn’t solved as easily as all of the other problems. I hate simple solutions.

What I do you like about this book in series is the overall arching story line. There are nine women which tells me there will be at least nine stories. I’m curious To see how they’ll pair up. I’m extremely interested in the other exiled batches. How are they organize? How do they treat the newcomers? And why are exiled hostile to each other?

The best book in the series so far. I’ve read enough PNR stories to know that the insta-love mate thing is the norm. But not in this case. The other mated pairs that came before have all shifted when they saw their mate, or when they had sex. But not so with Ryanna, Thrax and Zorux. She doesn’t believe that she’s their mate. She also left an abusive relationship behind on earth. She doesn’t want to fall for them and be left in the dust if one of the other women is their true mate. She doesn’t think she could take that rejection.

For their part, the 2 Draekon warriors have a few secrets of their own. Thrax was raised in an orphanage and he doesn’t think he’s worthy of Ryanna. Even though she makes him feel things he’s never felt before. Zorux has a secret that he feels means he will be alone for the rest of his days.

I loved all these characters, and their individual backstories. I also enjoyed a slower developed relationship between the three of them. As with the last book, characters that we met in previous books make appearances in this book. I really like that because it adds so much to the continuity of the overarching storyline.

Book 3 in the series, I haven't read the earlier books but I definitely will now.

Ryanna is human.
She is surrounded by tall, muscular, handsome, alien men (Draekon).
Two of the other human women, have mated, with some of the males.
Ryanna, has her eye one male Thrax.
He is friendly, flirty, and easy-going.
Her other eye is on Zorux, who is more standoffish and crabby.
As much as Ryanna, is attracted to both males it's her past that holds her back.
Back on Earth, Ryanna's marriage was a painful and abusive ordeal, that she hasn't gotten over.
She has emotional scars that prevent her, from acting on her true feelings.
But Ryanna isn't the only one dealing with pain, and fear.
Zorux has been holding on to, deadly secret since he was a young boy.
Thrax was raised in a orphanage and has had few, significant relationships.
They each must come to terms with these issues before they can accept each other.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and was not compensated in any way.

Of course I Loved This Book, it's about DRAGONS! I worried through this one, it looked like Thrax and Zorux weren't really the fated mates of Ryanna. The Draekons did not transform when they saw Ryanna, they didn't transform when they each kissed her or had a sexy erotic time
with her either, so sad. In this story they are traveling away from their camp, looking for the parts that make up a ship so they could leave the Prison Planet the Draekons were exiled to. There are pasts that a few are keeping to themselves due to shame and fear. There are still some of the females that crashed with Ryanna and her crew but they were discovered by another group of Draekons on the other side of the planet.
Without writings spoilers, I can say that Olivia and her crew of females will be in the future stories, one of them being Draekon Abduction, coming from Lee Savino and Lili Zander, YAY! Give me more DRAGONS!

The third Draekon story – what!
This is the third Draekon book but each is a standalone so you don’t have to read the first and second but I highly recommend them; they are a great read! This is Ryanna’s, Thrax’s, and Zorux’s story. Their story is a bit different in how it starts. Ryanna is a bit skittish of males. Zorux is hiding a big secret. Thrax thinks he’s just a flyboy! Uh oh this could be a problem for this mating bond! Or is it? The writing is flawless. The plot is filled with intrigue and new adventures for this exile group. We meet new exiles on this the prison planet. I love this story. It flows really well and all the action and adventures make complete sense. The scenes between these three are not only hot but also sweet. Now I can’t wait to read book four! We get a glimpse of whose story will be next at the end of three. There is an HEA even though the story continues.

Fun series. Each book is written to stand alone and features a different main character, however there is an overarching plot, and it’s best to read them in order.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

I am so into this series now. Not that I did not like the first few books, but now the other Draekons are really making an appearance. Ryanna from earth has crash landed on a prison planet. Half of the other females were abducted, there is no way off the planet, and she knows better than to get involved with the aliens. She left an abusive relationship and she is not going to trust men anymore, alien or not. Now they are on a mission to find the parts that will make a ship that could possibly get them off planet. They also have to rescue the other females from Earth. If she could only stop the distraction that is Thrax and Zorux. Their kindness, patience, and willingness to not rush anything has brought Rayana around. It might take a while to prove they are her mates, but in the meantime they have important missions ahead, and a possible war to get through. But for the three of them if they have each other, just maybe they can have a perfect HEA.

Liked it

A sci-fi romance with 3 different main characters who all have different, but equally strong, reasons they think they can't be in a relationship. This is the lusty & abbreviated version of how they overcome those walls to end up a happy triad. The heroine is a southern grocery clerk on the run from her abusive sheriff ex-husband. While one of the heroes must keep his father's secret and the other, as an orphan, has never known any family. Throw in a mission where they are practically alone together and a bit of danger and that's the book. A touch longer than the previous ones in the series, and a bit more to the characters here.

*****Spoiler Alert*****
This Book Includes
Violence.
References to domestic abuse, some danger due to predators / wild animals, female knocked unconscious kidnapped & beaten, death of villain by knife, dragon fight.
Sex. Anal play with finger, anal sex, mfm sex, mf-bj.

Book 3 in this series & it builds on book 2. In my opinion this book provided more drama than the previous with more original characters. While the relationship in each book is standalone, there is an overarching continuity to the story so that this book builds on book 2 and book 4 would build on this book. I have to admit, if you haven't read the previous stories I probably wouldn't recommend starting in the middle. Even though I've read them all, I found myself getting confused at times. My favourite sections of this book were when the characters were away from most of the other characters, when we find out more of about each of them. Probably because I found it easier to get into the story without the distractions of all of the others. Definitely worth a read, but make sure you read books 1 and 2 first.
