Kimbella is 21 years old, before her Mom died she promised she'd finish college and that she would take care of her Dad. Which is why she still lives with her Dad even though he treats her like a child. Angel Garcia lives across the courtyard from Kimbella and her Dad, Calvin and he's friends with Calvin. The guys play poker every week and Calvin usually ends up losing. Kimbella has a huge crush on Angel and loves to tease him any chance she gets. Angel feels guilty but he fantasizes about Kimbella even though he's old enough to be her father. After losing at poker Calvin ends up owing Angel ten thousand dollars. Calvin doesn't have the money so Kimbella agrees to be his collateral until he can pay Angel the money.

I do love these older man/younger woman reads by Mia Madison as they are perfect for a break or when you need some steam and a smile on your face. Once again this author doesn't disappoint in Angel and Kimbella's (Bella) story. The story, the characters, the teasing, the bantering, the steamy thoughts and scenes are once again right on point. Bella who is mature, stubborn, independent and likes to tease Angel has to give up herself to him to save her father. Angel respects and loves Bella and he would never hurt or force her, he watches over her and will do anything to have her come to him.
What I really enjoyed about this read is that Angel was not a man wh***, no mention of past exploits or women he has had and that only one woman was/is on his mind....Bella.
Another great read that had me cheering for the two and leaving me with a smile at the end.

I expect a lot when it comes to stories from Mia Madison and this one did not disappoint me. It is an amazing read with a hint of darkness. I like the story line and the plot. I wished it was longer. Mia Madisons writing style is captivating and surprising. I like her use of the words to captivate the reader.
This is a romance about an older man and younger woman who have been teasing each other for a long time. He is her fathers friend and card buddy. Kimbella is attracted to Angel and has fantasies about them together. Angel wants Kimbella but she is his friends daughter and that keeps him away from going for her. One day their world turns and everything changes. No spoilers.
I like the climax of the book and the way the story is towards it. It has lots of emotional ups and downs. The twists are unsuspected and gives a bit of drama to the story. There is hot chemistry between the characters and respect. Both Kimbella and Angel has not had an easy past and therefor they have walls to break down.
The story is written in dual POV and I like that very much. It gives the reader the thoughts and feelings of the main characters and therefor is adds more to the story.
I can only recommend this if you are into romances with a dark twist.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Absolutely loved Angel and Kimbella's story. Another quick hot and steamy read from Ms Madison. The story line was well written as were the characters.I you are looking for a quick read this is the book for you. The two may have started off in an unconventional way due to mistakes Kimbella's dad made and her feeling that she is once again the one to have to fix everything. And Angel may have had his doubts at the beginning of whether she would ever fall for him, but everything worked out in the end and they were able to get their HEA.

Sweet with a Hint of Darkness
I liked that certain well-worn tropes, or even the "shocking" twists on those tropes, didn't show up here. The heroine was urban without being stereotypical, and Angel was also drawn as having layers and complex motivations. Good payoff at the end of a surprisingly sweet story.

Kimbella and Angel have been playing a flirting game for a long time, but Angel is her dad's buddy and an older man. When the cat and mouse game becomes a real chase, will they give in to their inner desires? I loved Angel's character - sexy and all man! Great teasing banter throughout the story, and I loved their chemistry!

Angel has fancied Kimbella for a couple of years but unbeknown to him she has been harbouring a crush on Angel too
Circumstances throw them together and Angel is an absolute sweetheart and will not push her, not knowing Kimbella wants him too

Very well written. It is intense, emotional, exciting and so much more. It is an older man and younger woman. He wants her but stays away until the situation changes. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.l
