Dahlia Cox, 21, has a crush on her dad’s widowed friend, ex-military and current security guy August Berner (specific age never given). After setting aside college due to financial constraints, she works a job at a security firm too—a job that August helped her get but with his competitor. When Dahlia’s firm runs into some financial difficulties, she gets herself into an awkward situation at work that leads to an intimate new relationship with August, her identity unknown to him.

“‘I am not a slut…I only play one on Instagram.’”

This is where the plot gets a little convoluted. I could brush off Dahlia’s missteps on experience as she does come across a bit sheltered, if not naïve, at times; but, it required some suspension of disbelief when it came to August. As the head of a private security company in this day and age, it seemed like he should have had IT skills or connections to trace her account.

Anyways, if you don’t think too hard on that aspect or the fact that August is attracted to her, but is really into sexting his “mystery woman,” then it might be smooth sailing. Their texting is pretty hot!

“I want you to wrap your fingers around me. Pull on me a little bit…”

Told via their alternating first person POV, Dahlia and August especially had potential. It was refreshing (and a bit funny) to see the guy also stumble through new things when so often it’s the heroine who’s the fish out of water.

“I have never taken a picture of my own dick before, and there is something sort of awesome about it.”

I just wish they’d have been fleshed out a little more and their actual relationship developed alongside the sexting. When they finally get together, it felt rushed and lacking.

There’s a little suspense angle involving August’s job and his musician client. Those scenes kept me turning pages both for the who-done-it and for their amusing rapport with each other. I do wish the reveal would have been a little more exciting though. Otherwise, the safe, low angst aspect of the tale was pleasing. The cover's pretty hot too!

*I purchased this copy as a freebie from Amazon. As a final, published copy, it needed another proofreading. All reviews written by Book-Bosomed Book Blog are honest opinions.

I really enjoyed this book. Two people with some wonderful chemistry have no idea how to make their passion known to each other. So when the opportunity comes up for Dahlia to get to know August in a new way she takes it. August is having an interesting time sexting some unknown person until he finds out who it is. Good read great characters and story! I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

This book was good, but not great for me. The issues seemed to take care of themselves in a sense, so there really weren’t any problems to solve between August and Dahlia. They fit together well, and seem to have a relationship that’s easy as breathing.
They almost have it all and in my opinion didn’t have a lot of obstacles, which could be good or bad. It was a bit boring for me, but the promise was enjoyable.

Ok first let me say I do love this author a bunch.
This book was not the best. I was so lost with this book that it made my head spin a few times.
It started off slow and got slower than jumped to be honest.
It was a just too much for me to handle.

Happy Sexy Reading.

Holy hot flashes, Batman!

I suspected a hot, sexy story when I read the synopsis, but this went above and beyond expectations. No holds barred, it's romance with a hearty dose of erotic. Sexy, sexy!

Welcome to the modern age where sexting is the norm.
Forbidden pictures sent over the phone to entice another.

Not only do we get all that and more but we also get a older man/ younger woman/ best friends daughter story. Don't say ewww! It's not as gross and you would think. At least not when told through the wonderful imagination of Jess Bentley.

I found the characters very much to my liking and the sexting just made the anticipation all that more sexy when worlds collide. I don't need to share the story since the blurb and other reviewers have done just that. I will say that I found the book captured my attention from the start and never let up. Yes, I know we all see things in a different light but open your eyes and your imagination and enjoy Sext God. I did!

It starts with a bang, and doesn't let up. It's funny and sexy and there's this tantalizing thread of intrigue that flows through most of the story that keeps the adrenaline pumping. I've never read anything quite like this. It's a unique perspective that blends a couple of different themes together to produce something completely new and vibrant: former military, security/bodyguard, dad's best friend, older man-younger woman, secret identity, virgin, and let's not forget the whole technical/digital angle. The air is charged with the chemistry that sparks between August and Dahlia during every encounter. If I were match-making, I'm not sure these would be the first two people I'd put together but there's something so undeniably right about this pair. It's nothing so simple or obvious as opposites that balance each other out. They just 'fit' together. And after watching them interact through the book, I can't envision either one with anyone else.

Another great book from Jess Bentley. August is the older friend of her father and the one she finds herself drawn to even if she knows she probably shouldn't. Dahlia is the daughter of his friend who helped pull him out of his depression when he lost his wife and he knows his thoughts about her are not what they should be, but he can't help himself. When they end up connecting of Instagram the filter both try to live behind is gone and even though she knows who he is he doesn't know exactly who is behind the hot firecracker he has found on Instagram. August and Dahlia are smoking hot together and even if there is an age difference they have more in common than you would think. Their connection is off the charts and I loved every page of this book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

A really good read that I enjoyed. August is friends with Dahlias father. It just so happens that shes had a crush on him since she met him and he feels much the same, although to him, it’s wrong. Without him knowing her true instagram identity, she friends him and begins a steamy back and forth through messages.
One thing I will say that I was a little disappointed in was that from the prologue and the title, I thought that there would be a lot more scenes of them sexting each other than what there actually was. There back and forth was cute and sexy and I wanted to have more of that.
Besides that I still thought it was a good read.

More like mild flirting with nakey photos tossed in.

I know I am in the minority here, but I was disappointed by the lack of brazenly skilled flirty texts I was expecting from a book called Sext God. I feel mislead on that front. Most of the dirty texting comes from one of two girls, so maybe it should be Sext Goddess...

The story itself was okay, but not one I would read again. I liked the idea of the story a bit more than I liked the actual story, I think. I will say the steamy parts were good and some of what little sexting existed was okay. The title made me believe I was going to be schooled in the "art" of sexting and I wasnt. Too bad, because I was looking forward to it.

Book Review: Sext God
Author: Jess Bentley

Almost a forbidden romance as the Male main character is best friends with the Female main characters father, but they didn't become best friends until recently.
Dahlia has a crush on her father's friend but would it really be okay to persue this?
August is a widower and met Dahlia's father at a grief support group. Being attracted to his friends daughter was never part of the plan or even something he expected.
Pretty good read. Secondary characters are pretty annoying but as long as you focus on Dahlia and August's story you will make it through this book.

So I had never read any of her books before, but OMG! I loved this one so much!! I really enjoyed this storyline, and how they knew each other, and they August didn't know he was talking to Dahlia the whole time.
Dahlia is trying to get close to August's person that he's being security for. He doesn't know what she has up her sleeve, and they make contact on social media.
They start Sexting, and it gets hot and heavy!
She finally comes clean, but August needs to get permission from her dad, as Dahlia is only 21 and August is older, and a widow.
Once they FINALLY get together, oh boy!! It's magic! Explosive! I Loved it!!!

This book is hot!! I love anything Jess Bentley writes, but wow! This was an unique storyline that pulled you into the world of Dahlia and August as if you were really there. I held my iPad in one hand as I did everyday stuff. It was that good I didn't want to lose a second reading. I loved the sexual tension! It was crazy hot insta-love at its best. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Meh!

So I’m in two minds about this book. Loved the first half. I loved the mystery of the sexts back and forth, loved the struggle August had keeping himself in check. Second half of the book was in my mind rushed. They just suddenly sleep together and jump right in to the deep end. This makes no sense. August has been fighting his attraction for a long time. But suddenly they sleep together and its all good.

Sext God was more than just sexting between two individuals. This was a hot undeniable attraction between two individuals that weren't equally aware of who each other were. I loved the sexting and it was way hot, beyond melting. The additional story/plot behind that was nicely done and added a different look on bringing these two characters together.

Sweet, enjoyable read

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't an intense I got to save her story, or a I've been living with secrets and he can't find out book. It a fun book with a clever storyline of two people who both secretly desire the other but know they can't act on their feeling.

This book is so good! 💓

It's not often that you can say a book is both sexy and yet sort of sweet at the same time. This happens to be one of those times. August is certainly older than Dahlia but we are never quite sure how much older he is yet the connection between them is powerful. It is an amazingly hot and steamy romance. 💖

Great story

Such a good story. Loved Dahlia and August. He's her dad's best friend and they both have the hots for each other. When she creates a fake profile, they begin sexting and she's able to tell him everything she's ever wanted to. But what happens when he finds out it was really her?

I can't remember a time before there was you.

Dahlia's crushing on August. He's crushing on her. But their jobs and her dad could derail it before it even starts. Lots of bonuses! Amazing read! Enjoy!!!

I found Sext God to be sort of meh...just didn’t do much for me. Story was pretty tame—didn’t live up to the hype. Story was okay; characters just sort of meh as well. Just wasn’t up to my Jess Bentley standards.

So.. I honestly don’t know haha. I think this book is missing some action, some suspense and excitement. Idk. Just not the greatest.

Needs work

This is my first Jess Bentley book, so not sure how many she's written. If this is the first, she has potential. Definitely needs a new proofreader! It really messes with the flow. Story has possibilities to be really good, but as is it's a reach.

Second time around

This is the second time I read this book. I enjoyed it even more this time. The characters are deeper - especially since I read the book in the series that comes next.
