WOW SK. With CONTROLLED being your 1st Paranormal book, you prove that an great writer can write genre does not matter. I love AP he had me SMH laughing . When given a choice to do it the right way or his way, he will choose his way every time. Nyla is the perfect mate to call him on this sh*t. With hands on hips and "who the hell" Loved Se'Nya and his brothers. I'm looking forward to Cedric's story. January can't get here soon enough.

I would say 3.5. S.K. Lessly is one of my favorite interracial romance novelists. I love her work and have read many of her books. This is my very first interracial paranormal romance novel series. I echo reviews that have said it starts of really luring you in, even though there was no indication this was a paranormal romance story from Book 1 and even the beginning of this one, you will definitely be introduced to that aspect of the love story. Everything really comes together, however, it drops off in the middle and is kind of boring. I was toying with the idea of not even bothering to finish, but I kept the course and it became interesting again in the last 20% of the book. I think it's a pretty interesting story. Not as sexy as her other books though, IMHO. I mean, if you didn't know Andrew was a werewolf, he comes off as crazy, stalker, controlling and abusive..not alpha. But given that we are talking literally about animal instincts here, mixed with human emotions of love, I get it now. Cliffhanger here, but I'm hoping Controlled 3 will wrap things up nicely for Andrew and Nyla. I am not sure I'm interested in Cedric's story though (they have white dudes named Cedric?)

I caught first glimpse of this story in a book series of short stories. I was caught of guard and intrigued, very few paranormal theme books keep my interest. When I say, I'm blown away and can't wait for 2018, I feel like a crack head right now. I Will not give any spoilers but this is one of the best page turners I've read this summer.

Not What I expected
It was an ok read. I was intrigued at the beginning but I got bored in the middle. Then intrigued again and then it ended. I didn't realize this was a series. This will not stop me from reading the next book, now I need to know what happens with Nyla and Drew.

It's official! I'll read anything this author writes including Paranormal! Finally we learn more about Andrew Pierce, his (adopted) brothers and his love interest, Nyla Montgomery and her adorable little baby girl. Be warned: This story ends on a cliffhanger. Resolution coming January 2018!

A very enjoyable series
I’ve read a few books by this author and not once was I disappointed. I share the same sentiment when it comes to this book, I’m also happy that I’m now reading this series so that I don’t have to wait forever for the final book to be released. One thing I did enjoy so far about this book is the fact that it’s not the cliche story of a wolf being familiar with finding its mate, they were all clueless as to that aspect that their resort was to confirm with an elder. Often times in other books they seem to forget that elders in wolf world are important. Also the twist in who Nyla is adds to the story. If you haven’t read it yet I’d recommend that you do, S.K Lessy is just that good. Now unto book 3

So disappointed
I have read most of what ms. L has on amazon but this just wasn’t her best work. I feel like she rushed this story and it was all over the place.

This book is a page turner. The story began in a series "7 Degrees of Alpha". In that compilation, you are introduced to A P aka known as Andrew Pierce. Andrew travels to a hole in the wall Diner not for the coffee or the food but for Nyla. Nyla is a waitress with a few secrets. In Book 2, we see Andrew has secrets of his own. In addition to his secrets, someone wants Nyla. Not only do they want her and her child, but their motive is to silence her forever.
Andrew's obsession with Nyla has changed his life forever. He has become obsessed with having her as his. His desires for her are surrounded in his love for her and her daughter. He is doing all he knows to do to keep her from several entities that desire to keep them from solidifying their relationship.
Andrew is an Alpha of the first order. However, Nyla is an Alpha has well. Andrew's brother Cedric is police detective and finds out that a few of his cases my have implications in the mysterious past that surrounds Nyla's past.
Nyla has a friend (Darrius)who does all he knows to do to poison Nyla against Andrew. Could Darrius want her for himself of is he working with and for someone else?
I loved the story of how Andrew finally comes to the realization that Nyla is his true soulmate.Their love story is intense and gut wrenching. Being a romantic, this had all the intensity I crave in a story. Thank you Ms. Lessly for another great read. Looking forward to reading Book 3....

Fantastic
Wow! This is story #2 it has so much imagination and romance with lots of action which makes it a thoroughly entertaining book. It's somewhat vengeful and deliciously sizzling hot, with more enlightened and caring moments at the same time.It has good progression and it's well developed with captivating characters. This series definitely makes you want to read all the related books. But I must say again what I enjoy most about this story is the twists and turns and again It’s not just your run of the mill romance, because of the elements of suspense and of course throughout each story there’s something that’s just beneath the surface that's coming to light and along with the depth of passion that the main characters have it just makes you want to turn each page until the end and again the second story did not disappoint. It delivered again with the steamy passion, that I did not want to put the book down. I'm so excited for the next book in the series. As usual, I am left wanting more and oh did I forget about the cliffhanger but it's still worth staying up nights to binge on this series! A Fantastic Read.

This book was really good but I can only give it 2.5 stars bc it is a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers, especially from this author, none of her expected books come out when they are scheduled. I waited for this book after reading the short story in the Alpha collection. When this book finally came out I immediately ordered it. Hell, I pre-ordered the book. I should have done more research before I made my purchase. Had I known this was a cliffhanger I never would have read this book. I am so tired of all these dag gone cliffhangers. I am really about to STOP supporting many authors bc of this need to make their book cliffhangers. It feels like an attempt to get my money. I spend about $60+, monthly purchasing books. This stuff is making me upset. I like supporting good authors but when they do this, I no longer want to support them. I hope this book is released when scheduled.

Loved it!
What an absolutely pleasant surprise to find this paranormal/interracial book.
I've become such a fan of S.K. Lessley, so when I read this book after reading her other BWWM romance books, my Mind was Blown.
The story of Nyla and Andrew is compelling. I didn't expect the amount of suspense, and being a Mysteries and Vampire centric fan, this was like hitting the Mother Load.
I am pleased Kyla's character is believable and she has just the right amount of Sass and not too much "Maiden in Distress," that some Authors give their Female leads.
I am anxiously awaiting the third book, since the Prologue in Book One depicted an alarming scene involving Andrew, Nyla and others. I want to know more of the story with Cedric and Theresa and I really want to see what kind of Butt Whipping is awaiting Darrius.
Please hurry with Book Three!

Just read it
This is pure unadulterated torture! It's only October and I have to wait until January 2018 to get the next book! Father God , in your name! Just as it was getting to the nitty gritty.....BOOP! Cliffhanger until January of 2018! Arrrrggghh! Is there an emoji of a person pulling their hair out in frustration? Gosh darn S.K. knows that she writes these great stories then leave me stalking her page and Amazon like a Peeping Tom. I'm waiting on book 3 to the Obsession series. Now I have to wait on book 3 of the Controlled series. Huhhhhhh😢...at least there's the sad face Gemini. As you can tell from my rant, it's a good read. Get into it, that's all I have to say.

I absolutely loved this book! The only draw back was the length of time between the first book and the second. And now I've got to wait for the last installment. 😕 But hey, I guess I can't rush perfection.
I really enjoyed the way each character was developed, without being too "wordy" and bogging the story. Having said that, I gotta say there were times when I really wanted to buy the heroine a backbone! Like during the conversation with the guy she thinks is her friend. I was like just tell him off or at least hang up the phone!
What can I say about the hero? Phew, alpha male all the way! Glad I've got one because sometimes every girl needs one.😉
Write fast Ms Lessly, I'm waiting not so patiently. Great job!

Loved this book! It is a mystery filled with tantalizing secrets, intrigue, suspenseful plots, sexy alpha males that are strong, intelligent, protective and possessive with women that rival them. H/h that are complicated, complex with bloodline's that are unusual. Andrew & Nyla are soul mates who love intensely and are destined too be together but their enemies will stop at nothing to destroy them, their family and everyone they love. The book is well detailed and takes you on ride that keeps you on the edge. Lots of hot chemistry that sizzles. Can Andrew protect what is his and help Nyla understand and except her heritage? I look forward to finding out and reading the next book. Read this series you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic!!!
Book 2 picks up from the end of the previous book and it did not miss a beat! We continue the love story of Andrew and Nyla and it is explosive and we get to meet Andrew's brothers! I am excited about them. I really hope that they all get there stories because after reading about them? Wow! Just Wow! In this book we have more of a backstory to Andrew and what he is, and I was right in guessing what he is from the subtle hints in book 1. There are a few surprises thrown in and I cannot wait until the next book when they are uncovered. Loved it! The sex in this book is AMAZING!!!! I love the interaction between Andrew and Nyla. It is explosive and emotional. Just perfect in my opinion. I truly enjoyed it and am now on to book 3! *****4.5 stars****

I knew this book ended in a cliffhanger but dang.....
This one was jaw dropping. I am already wishing November and December away. Wondering how Nyla will react when she learns the truth of who/what she really is and also learns who/what Andrew is. I'm also wondering about the baby. Is she a hybrid just like her mother? What of the father, who is He really? Can't wait to find out more about the pack hunting her and of Cedric's woman. Why did she leave all those years ago? See....jaw dropping, leaving you salivating for more. I'm not worried, I know S. K. gonna have my jaw back in place and put me out my misery with book 3. I'll be waiting.

Loved this story, I had to recap and read the initial story first
Once I familiarise myself with it I enjoyed this immensely. I do like Andrew even though him wanting control all the time got on my nerves a little. I really liked Nyla and I think her daughter has great character too, I'm so looking forward to reading the next instalment as the suspense is killing me. Cedric is another character that I love but I want a proper descriptions of Theresa, I was desperately trying to work out if she was a woman of colour or not...there's a story there and I can't wait for it. Well done S.K. This is a fantastic story and I'm really looking to the next story.

As Nyla Montgomery and Andrew Pierce continue their romance, things get a bit heated in the city. But is Nyla ready for Andrew the Alpha?
So much should have been cut from this story. Idk if Lessly was trying to hit a goal, or there just wasn’t an editor. And while “best believe” made its appearances, the phrase for this book was “quiet as it’s kept”.
There is something to be said about the decisions Lessly makes with her white alphas in regards to other black males. However, that is a post for another time.
I only recommend this to those that have already read the first part and intend to finish the series.

Frustrating!!!
The story line was great however there is to much of a cliffhanger. It seemed like this book was nothing but back story. To many unanswered questions. All in one book. Now we are waiting for the next installment to really keep the story going. I am not sure I got enough to make me read the next book. I feel like I can stop now and not miss a thing. I have been waiting to read this 2nd sequel, for the longest while, and I am so glad that it has not disappointed my anticipation. In fact; it blew me out of all my expectations, as I did not suspect that S.K. Lessly would be writing a paranormal shift novel!! And to my expectations she has done good, in fact, more than good. She has written this book, incredibly fantastic. I f@#king loved it!!! I am sooooo looking forward to this next instalment. I just hope I don't have to wait too long......

OMG... I stumbled across this series and I'm glad I did. I also didn't appreciate at first it was a paranormal based story. As I feel if I had known it was I probably would have by passed it as it's not my preference in genre. But boy oh boy it worked. It just did. All the characters are believable. I loved Nyla from the start and Andrew and their connection, I think we all would want a piece of that. I believe in lettin readers find out for themselves so just read it. But the cliffhanger I can't wait for the next book. January can't come soon enough for this book alone. I loved it.

Whilst I enjoyed this story, I am disappointed that it has gone on to a book 3 which won't be out until 2018 by which time the story will have faded in my memory.
I wish I had waited until the final part had been released because now I just feel hung! I will leave my review of this story until the final part as this not much to say, as they couple were only getting to know each other in this part of the story.

She Is The Spinner of Surprises
One of the best things about SK Lessly is that just when you think a story is predictable, she sends in the twists.
I like Nyla and I want to see her happy and settled.
AP is too hard and angry for my tastes.
But she settles him. Makes him lose himself in her quite place.
It's a cliffhanger.
And Ms. Lessly's apology at the beginning of the book is unnecessary. I will take the rest of this ride with her.
