Roadkill ... A funny thing happened to Roger and Savanna Aldiss on the Interstate--they hit a dinosaur. But that's nothing compared to what awaits them down the road. For something is at work to reverse time itself, something which makes the clouds boil, glowing with strange lights, and ancient trees to appear out of nowhere. Something against which Roger, Savanna, a motorcycle gang, and others will make their final stand. Prehistory lives as ferocious dinosaurs run amok! Science-fiction and horror fans (and especially B-movie lovers) will enjoy this gory, action-packed thriller in the tradition of Roger Corman and George Romero.

Here we have an exciting tongue-in-cheek horror tale of dinosaurs verses bikers! Yep, you heard me right; dinosaurs verses bikers! While this may sound silly, the writing is well done and the narrator brings the story to life. Our main pair of victims, err… characters Roger Aldiss and wife Savanna are driving home one night when they literally run across a… dinosaur! Not appreciating being road kill the dinosaur, a Velociraptor attacks! The sky turns black and the clouds boil as if in the midst of a tornado. Savanna dispatches the raptor, takes over driving, and makes for the near gas station. Within the station are an attendant, a traveling couple, and a group of bikers. The balance of this short story is a fast paced high octane rush for our survivors to escape the growing number of dinosaurs or become lunch! Why and how did this craziness happen? There is some speculation that we as a culture finally reaped what we have sewn. Perhaps this is true, but man what a ride! Savannah and Roger were strong characters to follow into this Twilight Zone. The bikers added drama, trauma, and dinosaurs scooby snacks! It started off fast paced and by mid way, it tapered to a crawl. I restarted at chapter 10 at least a half dozen times! My hat goes off to Roger’s pain level ...
Travis is an excellent narrator, which increased my desire to listen to this book.
Not bad for a short story, but it didn’t hold my attention and seemed longer than it was ... why else would it take me nearly a month to listen to a 2 1/2 hr book. And now, to learn it’s a part of a serial ... No, I’m not even remotely tempted to follow. More like to ignore.
Fun, like a B-grade style movie" This is pluse pounding and funny. If you like sifi and horror in a B flick way you'll love this. The narrator kept me on the edge of my seat. Now this was a great book! Lots of fast paced excitement and the bad guys got there's...mostly. Dino fights and suspense. Not very long, but did not need to be. REALLY hope there is a follow up to this strange new world with more explanation as to the why and how and can we redeem ourselves enough to get our world back. Will be following this author closely. Well done!
This is a fun monster story. What do a motorcycle gang, cops,a gas station attendent and people traveling have in common?Dinosaurs! They came out of nowhere! I see a sequel!Travis Baldree did a nice job narrating!“I was given this free review copy audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.
Rodger and Savannah are travelling along the interstate when they enter a storm. This storm is weird though and they know they need to find shelter soon. As they look, they hit something, an animal of some sort. Savannah recognises it, but it can't be what she thinks, because they are extinct!! When the thing attacks her husband she kills it and drives to the first place she sees to get help, a diner. While in the diner, the people inside realise that Dinosaurs are roaming around and extremely weird things are happening. Just what is going on?
This is a short listen and as such suffers a little with the character development and the plot. The plot is fast paced and entertaining but it just doesn't make much sense and really needs to be expanded upon. I felt like that if the book was a little longer, it would have been great! Same with the characters, I didn't connect with any of them nor did I really care what happened them.
Saying that, it was still a fun listen. The action starts right from the get go and continues the whole way through. Its an intriguing idea and I would love to see another book!!
The narrator did a good job with this. He portrayed the feelings and emotions really well and gave life to some of the characters. I will have to check out more by him.
